Chapter 6441: A Vile Means
Chapter 6441: A Vile Means
A golden aura suddenly appeared before the members of the Heavensword Sacred Palace, protecting them from Ye Xiancheng’s aggression. Their Palace Master had stepped in to save them.
The Palace Master followed up with a sweeping slash directed at Ye Xiancheng.
Ye Xiancheng noticed the Palace Master’s strength and speed had greatly increased, but he still held the upper hand in this situation.
Seeing that, the Heavensword Sacred Palace continued channeling their formation, and another sword of golden light descended. Once again, the Palace Master grew stronger.
Ye Xiancheng was starting to feel pressured.
“Immortal Suppression!” Ye Xiancheng roared.
He unleashed the power of Immortal Suppression to curb the Palace Master.
“Activate the formation!” the Palace Master shouted again.
More swords of golden light descended.
By the time the fifth sword descended, Ye Xiancheng could no longer hold his ground. The Palace Master severed him into two by his waist.
The Palace Master couldn’t be killed because of the Heavensword Sacred Formation, but Ye Xiancheng didn’t enjoy the same benefit.
“Xiancheng!” Ye Xiancheng’s parents rushed to catch Ye Xiancheng.
Shoosh shoosh shoosh!
But several blades of light pierced their bodies, pinning Ye Xiancheng’s parents to the ground. They could only watch with a pained heart as Ye Xiancheng crashed into the ground not too far away from them.
“Father, mother...”
Ye Xiancheng was still alive, but he was in no condition to continue the fight. Seeing his lofty parents pinned to the ground filled his heart with misery. He dragged his tattered body to his parents’ side, leaving a blood trail in his wake.
More blades of light descended, pinning his tattered body in place.
“You might be talented, but a fool will never achieve anything substantial.” The Palace Master waved her sleeves and coldly eyed Ye Xiancheng. She had intentionally spared Ye Xiancheng to watch him suffer.
“The rest of you have nothing to worry about. I bear no animosity. On the contrary, I am sincere about working with you all. Please don’t intervene in our private affairs and make things difficult for me,” the Palace Master addressed the other powers.
She even retracted her oppressive might as a show of sincerity.
Then, she turned to Tianjian Canhua and ordered, “Canhua, draw the sword.”
Tianjian Canhua flitted back to the Lightning Flame Sword. But once again, just as she was about to draw the sword, several figures suddenly landed beside her. This time, it was the Spirit God Clansmen.
The Spirit God Clansmen had recovered considerably after a brief moment of recuperation. Their bodies emanated divine auras reminiscent of gods. They must have used some kind of secret skill.
Shen Hui grabbed Tianjian Canhua’s neck. “Palace Master, I suggest you stop this farce.”
“Isn’t it beneath the Spirit God Clan to threaten me with a junior?” the Palace Master asked.
“It is beneath us to hear you talk about dignity,” Shen Hui scoffed.
“Hahaha!” The Palace Master laughed. “Since time immemorial, the strong have always preyed on the weak. Such is the law of the jungle. Such is humanity. Principles do not bring food to the bowl, but treasures do. I am the leader of the Heavensword Palace Master. What wrong have I done in securing the interests of my sect?”
“Treasures can be shared. My master has already said so. You let your greed get ahead of yourself,” Shen Hui replied.
“How can you share true treasures? I can share the beads on the floor. I can relinquish this sword. But I cannot remain unmoved to the treasures Chu Feng has. He has the legendary Ruler’s Bloodline and Genesis Bloodline. Even you are rare treasures in the world of cultivation as well. This is a rare opportunity, and it won’t come by a second time.”
The crowd finally understood the reason behind the Palace Master’s abrupt change in attitude after Tianjian Qingyuan’s death. She had coveted Chu Feng’s treasures right from the start, but she had to drop that thought out of deference for Tianjian Qingyuan.
“The Spirit God Clan, I have high regards for you. Why don’t you serve our Heavensword Sacred Palace instead of Chu Feng? Our palace can offer you more than what Chu Feng has,” the Palace Master said.
“Our Spirit God Clan will not turn our back on our master,” Shen Hui declared.
“I see.” The Heavensword Sacred Palace’s Palace Master narrowed her eyes.
She flitted up to Shen Hui and severed her arms before the latter could react.
Boom!
Powerful oppressive might crushed the Spirit God Clansmen down to the ground, rendering them immobile.
“I’d have thought Heavenly Dragon World Spiritists like you would understand that the gap between cultivation ranks cannot be bridged,” the Palace Master scoffed.
She turned her gaze back to Tianjian Canhua.
Without any hesitation, Tianjian Canhua wrapped her hand around the Lightning Flame Sword.
Clang!
She pulled it out.
“How do you feel?” the Palace Master asked.
“I can feel its sharpness and sturdiness, but it doesn’t boost my fighting prowess,” Tianjian Canhua replied.
“Does it not contain a legacy?” the Palace Master asked.
“I don’t think so.” Tianjian Canhua shook her head.
“Put it back first.”
“Ah?”
“Chu Feng hasn’t completed the trial yet. Perhaps he has to finish the trial for the sword to reveal its true prowess,” the Palace Master explained.
So, Tianjian Canhua placed the Lightning Flame Sword back down.
The Palace Master flicked her wrist and took out a sinister compass with countless skulls shackled to its surface. It emanated the Ancient Era’s aura. Clearly, it was a demonic item.
“I’ll give you one last chance. Will you serve our Heavensword Sacred Palace or die here?” the Palace Master asked Shen Hui.
“You scum. Our answer will be the same even if you ask a thousand times. You’ll never receive the recognition of our Spirit God Clan!” Shen Hui roared.
“I have extended a hand to you, but you refuse to take it. Very well. I’ll grant you your wish.”
The Palace Master formed a hand seal, and wails of agony followed. The skulls emerged from the compass and dove their way into the Spirit God Clansmen’s bodies.
GAH!
The Spirit God Clansmen screamed. Their energy flowed through the shackles into the compass.
The members of the Heavensword Sacred Palace widened their eyes in greed. The energy flowing into the compass was far greater than the beads scattered around the square. This was the true power of the gods, nourishment comparable to top cultivation resources!
The Spirit God Clansmen were drained till they resembled skeletons wrapped in skin. Their blood and flesh had been sapped dry. There was a breath left in them, but they wouldn’t survive long.
“All our members shall get a share!”
The Palace Master waved her sleeves, and the compass flew into the air and covered the sky. Divine lights descended and flowed into each Heavensword Sacred Palace’s member.
The palace members were overjoyed. Even those who felt bad for the Spirit God Clansmen couldn’t curb their excitement. Their bodies glowed with divine light as they experienced the benefits brought about from the Spirit God Clansmen’s powers.
The Spirit God Clansmen might be world spiritists, but their powers were highly beneficial to cultivators as well. Their conscience meant nothing in the face of tangible benefits.
