Chapter 6439: Deserving of Death
Chapter 6439: Deserving of Death
“Those scoundrels,” Tianjian Qingyuan roared in anger.
She had seen everything that had just happened with her sharp eyes. She wanted to flit over to where the Heavensword Sacred Palace’s members were.
But Song Changsheng suddenly called out, “Are you worried about Chu Feng?”
Tianjian Qingyuan turned to Song Changsheng and noticed the gleam in his eyes. Clearly, he must have seen what she saw as well.
“I won’t stop you from teaching your foolish descendants a lesson, but you don’t need to worry about Chu Feng. Nothing in these eight galaxies can threaten Chu Feng,” Song Changsheng said.
“Are you sure?” Tianjian Qingyuan asked.
“At least that’s true right now,” Song Changsheng replied. “But if you’re worried about your palace members, you ought to return right now.”
“This line deserves to be wiped out,” Tianjian Qingyuan sneered as she ventured deeper down the path.
“Well said,” a deep voice boomed from further down the path, causing their surroundings to tremor. It felt as if the entire realm was speaking to them, given the intense tremors generated from the voice.
An end suddenly appeared in their path, but at the same time, the tremors grew so intense that it felt like their surrounding space would collapse.
A golden light surfaced from the path’s end like a rising sun, vanquishing the darkness. However, the light wasn’t coming from a star but from chains so humongous that they spanned the size of an entire starfield.
These golden chains overlapped like a dumpling, seemingly binding something in place, but they were covered in cracks.
Whoosh!
The golden chains shattered, and their remnants dissipated as golden auras.
Lying inside the golden chains was a black door made out of stone. Two identical entities resembling the black monstrous beast Chu Feng fought were inscribed on both sides of the doors.
Crk!
The black door spanning the size of a starfield opened.
The tremors intensified, but for some reason, they followed a certain rhythm.
The truth was soon revealed.
A colossal being emerged from the door, with each step it took causing the surrounding space to shake. While the colossal being was smaller than the door, it was larger than the behemoths Song Changsheng and Tianjian Qingyuan had fought along the way.
The colossal being had traits identical to the black monstrous beast Chu Feng fought—a humanoid body covered in black scales reminiscent of armor. Whiskers resembling snakes wriggled on its head and behind its back, giving it an eerie appearance.
Due to its hulking size, it resembled the entity who informed Chu Feng about the Seven Stars Orbs, the entity whom he suspected to be the Immemorial Cemetery’s master.
“The two of you brought harm to the world by stepping into a place you shouldn’t have. Don’t the two of you deserve more to be wiped out then?” the colossal being asked.
“Hah...” Song Changsheng laughed in self-derision. He raised his head and asked, “You said we brought harm to the world. Is it because we released you?”
“What do you mean by that?” the colossal being asked with a glimmer of interest.
“That earlier formation was a trap, isn’t it? Or should I say that everything in here is a trap? There are indeed legacies and benefits to be claimed in the Immemorial Cemetery, but you used your power to alter certain elements to bait us into your trap, compelling us to do things for you.
“While we did obtain legacies and benefits along the way, everything we do also contributes toward the lifting of your seal. I reckon the whole thing about the Seven Stars Orbs is intended to lift your seal. You were making use of all of us,” Song Changsheng said.
The colossal being smiled. “The two of you harness great potential. I should have made you my subordinates, but you both possess things that interest me.”
The colossal being licked his lips as he stared at Song Changsheng and Tianjian Qingyuan as if they were food.
“You must be carrying some kind of treasure, or else you couldn’t have controlled so many elements by yourself to lure us into your trap. What is that treasure? Or should I ask what lies inside that door instead?” Song Changsheng asked.
It was all dark beyond the door, resembling an unfathomable abyss. He sensed an even greater power inside, but he couldn’t tell if it was an entity of a treasure.
His guess was that it was a treasure. The colossal being must have used the treasure’s power to distort their senses to lure them into this trap.
Unfortunately, a restriction placed on the door prevented Song Changsheng from seeing through it.
Tianjian Qingyuan was also observing the door, but she couldn’t see through it with her special eyes either.
Sensing Song Changsheng’s and Tianjian Qingyuan’s gazes, the colossal being said, “Those who are about to die need not know too much.”
Song Changsheng smiled. He looked at his axe as he said, “Someone is indeed going to die, but it won’t be us.”
His axe suddenly vanished.
The colossal being hurriedly raised his head to look upward.
A glowing axe spanning the size of a realm had suddenly appeared above its head and was hacking down on him. At the center of the glowing axe was Song Changsheng’s vanished axe.
Boom!
The impact hacked a gorge into the boundless path.
But the colossal being vanished.
Grar!
A massive mouth suddenly appeared behind Song Changsheng.
The colossal being had dodged the attack and flitted behind Song Changsheng before launching an attack with its whisker. Even though it was just a single whisker, it was already huge enough to resemble a heaven-devouring monster from Song Changsheng’s perspective.
