“Elder, I’ll help you decipher the tombstone’s content, but can you bring me into the vortex with you?” Chu Feng asked.

“Take a closer look. I’m not deflecting the energy but withstanding it. This destructive energy targets living entities. I can’t protect you if your cultivation is too low,” Tianjian Qingyuan replied.

Chu Feng took a closer look and realized she was right. No wonder Tianjian Qingyuan said she would enter the vortex on his behalf; she knew that he wouldn’t be able to enter.

“I’m counting on you, elder,” Chu Feng replied.

“You don’t need to be so polite. I won’t help you if you can’t fulfill my request,” Tianjian Qingyuan said as she flew out from the vortex and landed next to Chu Feng.

Chu Feng quickly constructed a formation that manifested into a fifty-meter-long chain. He connected one end of the chain to his forehead.

“Let me share my sight with you, elder,” Chu Feng said.

Tianjian Qingyuan understood what Chu Feng was getting at.

He was the brain, and she was the brawn. In truth, she could have deciphered the tombstone’s content even without Chu Feng’s help, but it would take an inestimable amount of time.

Thus, she replied, “All right.”

Chu Feng and Tianjian Qingyuan made their way to the tombstone again.

Tianjian Qingyuan attached the other end of the chain to her forehead, and her eyes began to glow brightly. The obscure content of the tombstone suddenly became comprehensible to her. She looked at Chu Feng in astonishment, curious to know what means he possessed, but his eyes looked perfectly normal.

“Elder, you might have to hurry. This skill takes a toll on me. I’ll try my best to hold on, but I don’t know how long I’ll last,” Chu Feng urged.

He was using the Three Realms Divine Eyes right now. Not only did it take a toll on him, but he also didn’t know how long he could continue using it. It was a borrowed power, after all, so it was bound to run out eventually.

Tianjian Qingyuan understood what he meant and smiled. She formed a hand seal and fused her energy into the tombstone.

The world suddenly shook.

A humongous sword of light manifested behind Tianjian Qingyuan. It was of the same size as the tombstone.

“A sword? Is this her bloodline power?” Chu Feng was taken aback.

That sword was just a phenomenon arising from her bloodline power, but this phenomenon already boasted tremendous power. Her bloodline itself could only be more formidable.

Sword silhouettes flew forth from the tombstone. These swords were of normal lengths. It started with one, but it quickly grew to dozens, followed by thousands and tens of thousands...

These swords fused into the humongous bloodline sword behind Tianjian Qingyuan. The bloodline sword swiftly expanded, surpassing the tombstone in the blink of an eye, and that still wasn’t its limit yet.

Tianjian Qingyuan had begun breaching the formation to siphon the power inside the tombstone, and it was proceeding smoothly. Soon, her bloodline sword surpassed the tombstone by several fold.

Just then, her vision suddenly became a little blurry. This made her heart clench up.

This showed that Chu Feng was under great pressure and was reaching his limit.

Even though many of the tombstone swords had fused into her bloodline, the inheritance was not over yet. If a hiccup happened now, their efforts would be in vain. She might even lose the opportunity to obtain this legacy for good.

“Chu Feng, hold on,” Tianjian Qingyuan said.

Chu Feng’s eyes were not only bloodshot, but blood itself was already oozing from them. He was at his limit.

“Elder, can I trust you?” Chu Feng asked.

“Is it about your grandmother?” Tianjian Qingyuan asked.

“Mm.” Chu Feng nodded.

“If I succeed, I’ll find your grandmother as long as there’s a breath left in me,” Tianjian Qingyuan said.

Chu Feng smiled. “I’ll entrust my grandmother to you, elder. Leave this to me.”

He changed his hand seal, and even more blood oozed from his eyes. But Tianjian Qingyuan realized her blurry vision had become clear once more.

The inheritance continued.

When the final tombstone sword fused inside the bloodline sword, the runes on the tombstone vanished, leaving only six words behind. The runes were gushing through Tianjian Qingyuan’s bloodline.

“Chu Feng, it’s done now,” Tianjian Qingyuan said.

Chu Feng quickly formed a hand seal to deactivate the Three Realms Divine Eyes.

He succumbed to the backlash and collapsed to the ground, his face distorted and his teeth clenched from excruciating pain. His face was ghastly pale, and fresh blood seeped from his eyes. All these showed that he had been under immense pressure.

He endured the pain and began constructing another formation. He needed to treat his eyes right away, or else he might become blind.

“Don’t move,” Tianjian Qingyuan said.

Chu Feng felt a cooling sensation on his eyes. It was two glowing tree leaves that shared the same light blue color as Tianjian Qingyuan’s eyes.

The two leaves melted into light blue energy that seeped into Chu Feng’s eyes.

The excruciating pain Chu Feng felt in his eyes was greatly alleviated, and his injuries swiftly recovered.

Tianjian Qingyuan had used a priceless treasure to treat his injuries. No power would put a healing treasure of this caliber on the market—that was how invaluable it was.

“Looks like I have put my trust in the right person,” Chu Feng said with a smile.
