Chapter 305: Chapter 178: Jianghu Heroism, Righteousness Never Stands Alone
Brother Ma was the first to snap. He strode forward, his fists clenched so tight that veins bulged from the back of his hands all the way up his forearms. The man looked like an enraged bull.
He couldn’t believe Tie Qingyang was so audacious.
They were surrounded and completely powerless, yet he still dared to threaten them!
’Does he really think we’re pushovers?’
He raised his fist, his muscles tensing.
"Stand down."
Tian Guipu’s voice rang out, and Brother Ma’s fist instantly froze in mid-air.
He turned to look at Tian Guipu, his eyes filled with resentment. His lips moved, wanting to say something, but Tian Guipu paid him no mind.
Tian Guipu gazed calmly at Tie Qingyang. There was no anger in his eyes, no threat, not even any emotion—he just stared.
Slowly, he said, "Feuds and killings are not uncommon in the martial world. So if we were to slaughter all of you tonight, who would know it was the work of our Divine Martial Society? Then again, President Tie, why the hostility? If I wanted you dead, I wouldn’t have waited until now."
Tie Qingyang fell silent.
There was no refuting the man’s words.
Because he was speaking the truth.
With Tian Guipu’s power and the Divine Martial Society’s influence, if they wanted to kill Tie Qingyang, they wouldn’t have needed to wait for New Year’s Eve, let alone have Tian Guipu lead the men here himself.
They could have just found an excuse, sent a few men, and he, Tie Qingyang, wouldn’t even have known what hit him.
"So, what is it you really want, Mr. Tian?" There was a hint of exhaustion in Tie Qingyang’s voice.
He was well aware of his own strength.
A Blood Tempering Realm Martial Artist might be considered an expert by ordinary people, but before someone in the Refining Viscera Realm, he wouldn’t even have a chance to fight back.
Besides, while the Tie Family’s enterprise was a big name in Holy City, compared to the Divine Martial Society, it was less than nothing.
’For them to go to such lengths, what could they possibly want?’
Tian Guipu began to speak, his tone calm and unhurried. "I hear you’ve been getting close to the people from Dragon Eagle?"
Tie Feiyang’s expression changed, and he looked at his father, Tie Qingyang.
Tie Qingyang’s expression remained unchanged.
For a veteran like him, such a simple probe was nothing.
He had fought and clawed his way through the martial world for thirty years; there was nothing he hadn’t heard, nothing he hadn’t seen.
If they thought they could find an opening by reading his expression, they had sorely miscalculated.
"My personal associations have nothing to do with Dragon Eagle, and even less to do with the Divine Martial Society." Tie Qingyang’s voice was firm.
"Whether they do or not isn’t up to you," Tian Guipu said with a faint smile.
Tie Qingyang’s face darkened. "Mr. Tian, if you have something to say, just say it!"
Tian Guipu’s smile faded a little. "All I need is for you, President Tie, to tell me that Dragon Eagle was involved in Sun Weilong’s death... That will be enough."
"Impossible!"
"Are you sure?"
"I’m sure!"
Two words, spoken with iron conviction.
Tian Guipu’s expression darkened.
"I gave you your chance. Now you can’t blame me for what happens next."
His gaze left Tie Qingyang, swept over everyone present, and then returned. He sat back down, his lips parted slightly, and he uttered three words: "Kill them all."
The moment the words were spoken, Brother Ma and the others charged forward.
The scar-faced Brother Ma led the charge, his heavy steps making the marble floor THUD like a drum.
The bald man circled around from the side, his target not Tie Qingyang, but the five gunmen.
His Body Technique was far more agile than Brother Ma’s. His steps were light and quick, like a frog hopping on lily pads, weaving left and right in an unpredictable S-shaped path.
The man with the ponytail didn’t move. He stood where he was, hands stuffed in his overcoat pockets, his gaze sweeping across the room as if he were watching a game that had nothing to do with him.
BANG!
The gunman guarding Tie Qingyang immediately opened fire.
The gunshot echoed deafeningly in the enclosed hall. The bullet struck the ground, sending marble fragments flying and leaving a hole less than two feet from Brother Ma’s feet.
Brother Ma didn’t even glance at the bullet hole. He didn’t break his stride, continuing his charge.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three consecutive gunshots rang out.
Brother Ma’s body suddenly leaned to one side, at such an extreme angle it looked like he would fall, but he remained on his feet.
He thrust out a hand.
And caught something.
He opened his hand. A bullet was embedded in his palm. It hadn’t pierced the skin, leaving only a shallow dent.
Brother Ma glanced at his palm, flicked the deformed bullet away, then looked up and grinned at the gunman.
It was a grin without any warmth, utterly chilling.
The gunman’s face went pale.
He turned to run.
But...
CRACK!
...
「At the back of the crowd.」
Tie Feiyang had also pulled out a gun, his finger on the trigger, but he couldn’t bring himself to fire. He didn’t know who to aim at.
Brother Ma was on the left, the bald man on the right, the man with the ponytail in the distance, and Tian Guipu stood in the middle. They were all moving, their speeds far beyond his ability to track.
But before he could step forward, Tie Qingyang grabbed him.
Tie Qingyang didn’t say a word, but the strength of his grip on Tie Feiyang’s arm spoke volumes.
"Dad, I’m not leaving! I can’t just abandon you! If we die, we die together! This is bullshit! They’re the ones in the wrong, so why should we have to die for it!?" Tie Feiyang’s eyes were red with desperation.
"Go!" Tie Qingyang said only one word, then threw Tie Feiyang behind him with immense force.
Tie Feiyang’s body sailed through the air in an arc, landing hard on the floor and rolling twice.
He lifted his head to see Tie Qingyang charging forward without a single glance back.
RIIIIIP!!!
The clothes on his body exploded outward, sending shredded scraps of fabric dancing through the air.
