Chapter 246: Chapter 168: The Divine Sword Returns; Heaven and Earth Can Be Slain

...

Initial Release?

Wan Ze stared at the two words, lost in thought.

Without hesitation, he immediately activated Initial Release.

"HUMMM!"

A warm current surged up from his Dantian and instantly flowed through his entire body. The sensation was somewhat similar to the Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts, but also completely different.

Secret Martial Arts were meant to stimulate one’s qi and blood to achieve a Power Burst.

But Initial Release was...

Wan Ze frowned slightly.

Suddenly, he had an epiphany.

Initial Release raised the upper limit of the Secret Martial Arts!

If the Secret Martial Arts allowed him to erupt with 120% of his power for a short time, then Initial Release increased that 120% baseline to 150%, or even 200%!

"Excellent!"

Wan Ze abruptly pushed off with his feet.

"WHOOSH!"

His figure suddenly vanished from the center of the courtyard and reappeared by the wall five meters away.

’So fast!’

He turned and took another step. His figure vanished again, reappearing beneath a tree on the other side.

His speed was so astonishing that even he was a little surprised.

Wan Ze stopped, looking down at his hands with an unconcealable smile.

’My power is greater, my speed is faster, and my Perception is sharper.’

He could even clearly feel the flow of every wisp of wind in the air.

"What a powerful feeling!"

Wan Ze clenched his fists, feeling the immense power coursing through his body.

His gaze shifted down, landing on his attribute panel.

[Physical Strength: 2.78]

[Intelligence: 2.72]

[Agility: 2.67]

[Endurance: 2.67]

[Power: 2.82]

[Coordination: 2.66]

All his Attributes had risen again.

His bitter Cultivation, day and night, had finally paid off.

He stood his ground, taking a deep breath to let his turbulent qi and blood gradually calm down.

His attribute values were increasing rapidly.

This was the benefit of High Tier Martial Skills. Every single one could provide a considerable Attribute boost.

But High Tier Martial Skills were incredibly rare.

You couldn’t buy them on the open market at all.

The owners of such skills controlled them with an unimaginable strictness.

Take the Dragon Eagle Martial Arts Hall, for instance. Brother Yu had joined almost a decade before him, yet he had only learned the Iron Mountain Fist, the Dragon Eagle Secret Martial Arts, and the Dragon Eagle Combat Skill. Only after making a huge contribution to the hall was he allowed to cultivate one additional Martial Skill from its collection.

Zhai Jia hadn’t even gotten to cultivate an additional one.

And yet, in just a few short months, he, Wan Ze, had already practiced over ten Martial Skills, though only a few of them were High Tier.

’I can’t get greedy with this good fortune.’

Wan Ze glanced at the sky. The cloud cover was still thick.

He turned, picked up his sword, and continued practicing.

It was on this very day that Sun Beixi secretly appeared outside the courtyard where Wan Ze was staying.

Ever since he was excluded from the affair with the Female Sword Immortal, he had been keeping a low profile these past few days, feeling incredibly fortunate.

Even two major figures like Zhai Yu and Zhai Jia had been tormented half to death. He didn’t dare imagine how horribly he would have died if that Female Sword Immortal had decided to come after him.

Every time he recalled the scene of that sword light cleaving through a mountain boulder, a chill ran down his spine.

To him, Wan Ze hadn’t just saved his life from Qin Jiu.

He had also saved him a second time from the Female Sword Immortal.

’That’s twice now... I’m so grateful I could almost pledge my life to him.’

Sun Beixi stood at the courtyard gate, took a deep breath, and straightened his collar before pushing the gate open and entering.

In the courtyard, Wan Ze was sitting at a stone table, flipping through a book. He glanced up when he heard the noise.

Sun Beixi looked at him with a face full of admiration.

’Master Wan always has this calm and composed demeanor, like he wouldn’t even frown if the sky fell.’

"Master Wan." He walked over with a smile, sat down across from Wan Ze, and said in a low voice, "My uncle contacted me."

Wan Ze closed his book and looked at him.

"I told him about the Yanli Kingdom," Sun Beixi said, pulling a palm-sized communicator from his robes and handing it over. "He’d like to talk to you. We’ve scheduled it for eight o’clock sharp tonight. He’ll call this communicator."

Wan Ze took the communicator, weighed it in his hand, and slipped it into his pocket. "Alright."

Sun Beixi hesitated for a moment before adding, "Master Wan, I have to make this clear... my uncle absolutely has no ill intentions. The reason he’s being so cautious is that his experiences overseas were incredibly complicated. He’s been set up, cheated, and even nearly lost his life. He doesn’t fully trust anyone now, but since you saved me, he definitely trusts you."

Wan Ze looked at him and smiled. "Don’t worry."

Sun Beixi let out a sigh of relief, the tension on his face finally easing a bit. He glanced around, and even though the courtyard was empty, he lowered his voice even further. "There’s one more thing."

A flicker of interest crossed Wan Ze’s eyes.

"My uncle said... something big happened with the Dark Hand." Sun Beixi’s expression grew solemn. "I don’t know who they pissed off, but their upper echelons have been assassinated one after another recently. Now their Holy Envoy has disappeared. It’s unclear if he’s in hiding, or if he’s also..."

He made a throat-slitting gesture.

Wan Ze picked up his teacup and took a sip, his expression unchanged.

’Of course, he wasn’t surprised.’

He had specifically returned back then to plant clues leading the Dark Hand to the Tail Society. The whole point was to borrow a knife to kill someone else.

’Those people from the Tail Society are no saints.’

"What about the Holy Fire Order?" Wan Ze asked.

"Its whereabouts are unknown." Sun Beixi sighed, sounding a bit wistful. "We fought tooth and nail in the mountains for so long, only for someone to have already beaten us to it. Who knows if someone from the Tail Society took it, or if someone within the Dark Hand snatched it amidst the chaos... Anyway, it’s completely vanished now."

Wan Ze nodded and didn’t ask any more questions.

’For him, the gains from this trip were already more than enough.’

He had established a connection with the Female Sword Immortal and obtained two new Swordsmanship techniques. The power of those two techniques far surpassed ordinary Martial Arts, enough to become one of his trump cards in the future.

As for the Holy Fire Order, if it was fated, they would meet again. If not, there was no use in forcing it.

Just as he was thinking this, the courtyard gate was pushed open again, and Sun Fan peeked his head in.
