Martial Arts: I Have a Wilderness World
Chapter 687 - 347: Consecutive Breakthroughs from Rewards
Chapter 687: Chapter 347: Consecutive Breakthroughs from Rewards
An average of 93 percent, which is 93,000 Points each.
"Ring Spirit, sacrifice!" Cheng Zongyang transferred to the Altar Space and placed the Soul Crystals on the altar’s platform. He couldn’t use these Soul Crystals himself, so sacrificing them was his only option.
The four crystals were worth 372,000 Points, meaning he would receive 260,000 Points and a reward of four items.
As soon as he spoke, the four Soul Crystals vanished. In their place appeared four globes of light, each shrouded in a luminous membrane, arranged from left to right in ascending order of size.
Cheng Zongyang hurried forward to inspect them one by one.
——[Black Death Qi], [Hundred Beasts Primordial Qi], [Earth Evil Qi], [Spiritual Qi of All Things]
Cheng Zongyang stared at the four items, slightly stunned. Just then, the Ring Spirit’s voice echoed from them.
["Given your current situation, these four items are the most suitable for you. With the appearance of the passage to the Realm of Ten Thousand Races, your Cultivation needs to be raised so you can help me control the Realm of Ten Thousand Races more quickly. Future rewards will primarily be Pure Qi to enhance your Cultivation. All four of these are condensed forms of Pure Qi."]
Cheng Zongyang nodded after listening. ’Since this is all to raise my Cultivation, the Ring Spirit must have a plan.’
Their relationship was symbiotic. A stronger Ring Spirit could provide him with more help and opportunities for advancement, and a stronger him could, in turn, offer the Ring Spirit greater assistance.
He didn’t waste any time, immediately turning his attention to the Black Death Qi.
As expected, this was the Black Death Soul Power he had sacrificed before, now processed by the Ring Spirit into a form of qi he could absorb.
It was Tier One.
Without hesitation, he began circulating the North Nether Swallowing Qi Method and reached his right hand toward the black globe of light.
The next moment, a wisp of frigid energy shot into his body from the palm of his hand.
The instant the frigid energy entered his body, his Adaptation Talent activated, immediately neutralizing its effects. Drawn by his Cultivation Technique, the wisp of energy traveled along his meridians toward his Dantian. It was rapidly refined and absorbed by the Upper Qi Vortex, then released from the lower vortex as pure Spiritual Power, which merged with the rest of the Spiritual Power in his body.
Cheng Zongyang used his Divine Sense to compare the resulting wisp of Spiritual Power to the original Black Death Qi, and a smile touched his lips.
’As expected of the system, it only produces top-quality goods! The conversion ratio is nearly one-to-one!’
He then began absorbing the Black Death Qi at a rate that matched his Dantian’s refining speed, creating a perfect equilibrium between intake and refinement.
About fifteen minutes later, he had finished absorbing the Black Death Qi.
But after he finished, he sensed that the capacity of his body to hold Spiritual Power seemed to have increased!
If his body was a ten-liter bucket before, now it had a twenty-liter capacity. He could clearly sense the difference.
"I’m already at the Second Level?" Cheng Zongyang was dumbfounded.
’One globe of Black Death Qi is equivalent to the entire First Level of Qi Cultivation. This Ring Spirit really is something else!’
Cheng Zongyang smiled, but he wasn’t overly excited. He immediately turned to the second globe of light: the Hundred Beasts Primordial Qi.
According to the description, it was Pure Primordial Qi that the Ring Spirit had condensed and refined from the bodies of Nine-Star Exotic Beasts within the territory it controlled. "Hundred Beasts" was just a general term; the qi was actually drawn from more than one hundred of them.
Next, Cheng Zongyang continued the process: absorbing, refining, and integrating.
This time, it took him thirty minutes to absorb the globe of Primordial Qi.
Likewise, when he finished, Cheng Zongyang took a moment to gauge his condition. His Spiritual Power had reached about eighty percent of the way to the next level.
Cheng Zongyang said nothing and moved on to absorb the third.
This was Earth Evil Qi, refined and condensed from beneath the ground of the Realm of Ten Thousand Races. It was also within a range he could safely absorb.
As he finished absorbing the globe of Earth Evil Qi, the familiar sensation washed over him, just as he had expected.
He had reached the Qi Cultivation Third Level, and was already about fifty percent of the way to the next.
He wasn’t worried that this method would leave his foundation unstable. For one, he had his Adaptation Talent, which would automatically stabilize any imbalances in his body. For another, he planned to engage in intense combat in the Cultivation Room later to solidify his Cultivation and build his combat experience.
The last globe was Spiritual Essence refined from the living beings of the Ten Thousand Races across heaven and earth. As he expected, its effect was just as potent.
Once he had devoured and refined the fourth globe, he immediately felt an invisible barrier within his meridians shatter. With that, his Realm broke through to the Qi Cultivation Fourth Level!
"All that in less than four hours." Cheng Zongyang didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
This method of advancement was like the Ring Spirit was helping him pay-to-win. The rapid power-up felt incredible, but the grind of constantly fighting to stabilize his foundation afterward was far less enjoyable.
Still, this was all First Grade qi, so its intensity wasn’t high and was well within his ability to adapt.
Upon entering the Fourth Level, his Adaptation Talent kicked in, and the unstable feeling in his body vanished. He still needed to properly acclimate to wielding this new Power, however.
Instead of meeting with anyone, Cheng Zongyang sent his consciousness into the Hall of Ten Thousand Races and went straight to the Cultivation Room.
After two days of high-intensity combat training, Cheng Zongyang emerged from the Cultivation Room. He used the Recovery Chair to restore his energy before leaving the Hall of Ten Thousand Races, feeling completely revitalized.
With the Cultivation Room, solidifying his foundation was no problem at all.
He found his younger brother, Cheng Zongliang, and asked him for an update.
The intelligence network was still a necessity, not just for dealing with the Immortal City, but for the future as well.
The covert network was run by four people, each with a specific domain: his brother Cheng Zongliang handled the female intelligence unit; Zhou Zhennan was responsible for infiltrating other factions; Zhou Zhenqi managed the brothel; and Ye Shaoning ran the Gambling House.
Of the four, only his brother had recently broken through to Qi Cultivation.
Zhou Zhenqi had no Spirit Root, only a Spirit Bone. Zhou Zhennan had Four Spirit Roots, Cheng Zongliang had Three Spirit Roots, and Ye Shaoning also had Three Spirit Roots.
His brother had succeeded in his Breakthrough thanks to the Elixirs he’d been left, a simplified version of the Cultivation Technique that was as easy to read as plain language, and Li Xuejin’s help in understanding it.
Ye Shaoning was a bit slower, as resources hadn’t been allocated to her as favorably. However, after sensing her condition, Cheng Zongyang knew her own breakthrough wasn’t far off.
Zhou Zhennan, however, was still a long way off. The number of one’s Spirit Roots was a determining factor; even with the aid of Elixirs, his progress was bound to be much slower.
After his inquiries, Cheng Zongyang learned that the basic framework for the various departments of their covert network was in place, but the operatives still needed more training.
Their personnel consisted of orphans, who had all been sent to Tiantuan Village to learn how to read and to undergo Martial Arts Body Forging training.
The four leaders taught the curriculum themselves, which naturally consisted of the rules of the covert network. Only the Martial Arts Body Forging was taught by Cheng Yuanxin and the others.
"Brother, are you going home?" Cheng Zongliang asked suddenly after they had finished their discussion.
Cheng Zongyang paused and looked at the three of them. Ye Shaoning had already departed.
"Have you not been back in the last two or three months?" Cheng Zongyang asked.
All three shook their heads. Zhou Zhennan said timidly, "We wouldn’t dare go back without your permission."
Cheng Zongyang smiled. "It’s good that you remember the rules. I am, in fact, heading back for a visit. You all can come with me."
After being away for several months, they probably missed their parents and sisters.
"Thank you, Big Brother!"
"Haha, let’s go, let’s go."
"Thanks, Brother!"
The three of them were thrilled and immediately left to get ready.
Just as the three of them were leaving the study, Cheng Zongliang poked his head back in. "Brother, when are we leaving?"
Cheng Zongyang smiled. "In two hours. Go get ready."
"Okay!" Cheng Zongliang’s face lit up, and he nodded eagerly before leaving.
Cheng Zongyang took out the Flying Cloud Shuttle, infusing it with his Divine Sense and Spiritual Power. A smile played on his lips.
’Finally, I don’t have to spend Spirit Stones on this thing.’
Next, he retrieved thirty large, nearly man-high wooden chests that Luo Dingran had prepared for him from within the Realm of Ten Thousand Races and placed them in the front courtyard.
Each chest contained a thousand Level One Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal Tokens, for a total of thirty thousand. (The Tokens didn’t need to be replaced upon promotion; they would automatically change color to reflect the new Level.)
The Ring Spirit could automatically generate Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal Tokens within the Realm of Ten Thousand Races for people entering from the Cultivation Immortality Realm. However, for people outside to use them, the Tokens had to be physically crafted and brought out.
After all, the people of Jade Peak Immortal City had no way to enter the Realm of Ten Thousand Races yet, so for now, he would have to make do with crafting these physical Tokens.
He had a servant summon Zhou Zhendong and Zhang Chuchu. After explaining the situation with the Tokens, he tasked Zhang Chuchu with producing blank tokens of the same size and material, with no need for any inscriptions or patterns—just completely blank on both sides.
Later, he would send them into the Realm of Ten Thousand Races for the Ring Spirit to modify, imbuing them with the function of a Ten Thousand Races Spirit Seal.
Zhang Chuchu naturally agreed.
Cheng Zongyang then produced a smaller box. "These are for our own people," he said. "They are all the highest Level. There are one hundred of them. They are only to be used by the upper echelons of the Gang and the Commerce Association. Keep the rest, and bind them to new key personnel as they join."
"Yes," Zhou Zhendong and Zhang Chuchu replied in unison.
Next, Zhou Zhendong called for men and carriages to transport the chests in batches to the Commerce Association’s Money Shop.
Some time later, Cheng Zongliang, Zhou Zhennan, and Zhou Zhenqi arrived at the back courtyard, buzzing with excitement.
