Ning Xiyin wielded the blade single-handedly, his figure staggering.

Looking around, how could he not realize by now that he was being set up?

The drama unfolding in the tavern was nothing more than a trap to ensnare him.

From the moment he set foot in the tavern.

Everything was aimed at him.

Li Weiran invited him for a drink, seeking his life-saving promise.

The Black clothed Man spoke, inciting Cangyu’s Three Heroes to engage with him.

Finally launching a deadly strike, aiming to take Li Weiran’s life.

At this juncture, Ning Xiyin had his previous promise to uphold, how could he stand by indifferently?

He kept his word, even though from the Black clothed Man’s mouth, this Li Weiran was unworthy of the rescue, yet a gentleman’s promise is worth a thousand pieces of gold, he stepped forward to intervene.

Unexpectedly, this intervention was the catalyst for their plan.

Li Weiran’s Longsword hid another mechanism, with a pull of the hilt, it turned into a dagger.

Ning Xiyin stood in front of him, where could he have anticipated such danger from behind?

Though in that instant, he twisted his muscles, rotated his form, preventing the blade from piercing a vital spot, the injury was nonetheless severe.

His face darkened, blood pattered to the ground, as he lifted his gaze to Li Weiran:

"Li Weiran... why you?"

Li Weiran paid him no mind, instead eyeing the restless Jianghu people inside the tavern, sneering:

"I advise you all, don’t meddle.

"If you turn away now, you can still save your lives, otherwise... hmph, don’t blame us for being ruthless."

The Jianghu people present were mostly scattered fighters.

With many thoughts, especially since just now the Black clothed Man’s moves were incredibly skillful, eventually someone sighed, dropped a few pieces of scattered silver, and stood up, heading toward Liu Jing Mountain.

Where there’s one, there’s two, in the blink of an eye, the tavern was already empty.

Some left silver behind, while others bolted outright.

The waiter watched this scene unfold, his heart bleeding.

He wanted to call out, but feared for his own life, and upon glancing at the shopkeeper, saw the shopkeeper too with tear-filled eyes, biting his sleeve and enduring...

As the people left, the tavern felt sparse.

A previously unnoticed corner now seemed conspicuous.

Li Weiran glanced over.

Sitting at the table was a man in his thirties, dressed in blue.

Accompanied by two young women.

One with clear brows and bright eyes, particularly voracious.

The other seemed not too young.

A Longsword casually placed on the table, she herself propped her head with one hand, peering outside the tavern, not once glancing at their group.

Li Weiran’s brows furrowed slightly, remaining silent, only speaking softly:

"Mr. Ning, as one faces death, why know so much?

"Just worry about leaving peacefully."

At these words, he rushed forward using the dagger like a sword, shaking it to spread strands of sword light.

Ning Xiyin, dubbed the Blade sovereign, was naturally skilled in martial arts.

With a twist of his single blade, he easily swept aside Li Weiran’s sword light, then extended his hand, intending to grasp the handle.

A whoosh sounded in mid-air.

It was the third of Cangyu’s Three Heroes, reaching out to throw an iron claw.

The iron claw latched onto his arm, preventing Ning Xiyin from drawing his blade.

Ning Xiyin shouted angrily, blood flowing freely from his back, yet his arm strength unmatched, even as the third hero exerted Inner Strength, unable to halt him.

Watching as he was about to grab that blade handle.

The Black clothed Man flickered, raising a finger.

It struck his right arm’s wrist.

The blow landed, Ning Xiyin reeled as if struck by lightning, arm weakening, the third hero exerting force, pulling him backward.

Glancing upwards, Zeng Guangzheng, the second of Cangyu’s Three Heroes, was already before him, wielding two Judge’s Pens, descending swiftly.

They would pierce his head.

Seeing the Blade sovereign about to meet his end.

A loud snap sounded.

Zeng Guangzheng looked down at his hand, finding it empty.

Where are my Judge’s Pens?

He turned his head, seeing his Judge’s Pens somehow nailed to a column in the tavern corner.

His heart tightened.

The Judge’s Pens couldn’t have disappeared without reason.

In that instant, someone must have secretly intervened.

He immediately scanned the surroundings:

"Who are you?"

Li Weiran subconsciously glanced at the corner table.

Only to find that aside from the girl who kept eating meat, the other two were also searching around, eyes full of surprise.

"..."

Li Weiran furrowed his brows.

Reluctant to believe these were the culprits.

The unseen hand wielded formidable techniques, shadowless, invisible, and these three were seated in front, if they acted, how could it be so concealed?

It’s those who left earlier, perhaps they pretended to leave, in reality coming back secretly.

Wishing to meddle.

Immediately, Li Weiran sneered:

"Friends in the shadows, don’t meddle."

At this, he casually tossed the dagger to Zeng Guangzheng.

Zeng Guangzheng caught it, reaching out to stab.

This time, as Li Weiran guarded around, he also stared at the three people at the corner table.

No surprise he’s paying particularly close attention to those three.

After all, their actions are truly suspicious.

Everyone left, yet they stayed.

With a major event unfolding, they seemed unaffected, casually watching the drama unfold from up close.

None of it seems straightforward.

If it wasn’t for Ning Xiyin’s life hanging in the balance, he’d prefer not to stir up additional trouble, otherwise, he’d want to deal with the three before anything else.
