"Nathan Fawcett!" Victor Linden pointed a finger at Nathan Fawcett’s nose. "Is this how you talk to me? I’m your uncle, for crying out loud! Did you call me over today just to force me to pay you back?"

"Paying your debts is only right and proper! Just because I haven’t brought it up doesn’t mean you can pretend it never happened! I’ve already given you plenty of chances."

Nathan Fawcett said, "What’s wrong? All I did was remind you of what you’re supposed to do. Why, to hear you tell it, Uncle, it sounds like I’ve done something outrageous."

Victor Linden stared at Nathan Fawcett, trembling with anger.

Nathan Fawcett hadn’t mentioned this matter recently because he didn’t feel it was that urgent.

But...

Last time, Victor Linden even went to the hospital and spoke about his mother that way!

He couldn’t tolerate something like that!

’Someone has to remind certain people who don’t know their place just who is in charge of this family!’

Victor Linden looked over at Master Linden and said, "Second Uncle."

Master Linden cleared his throat and said to Victor Linden, "Paying your debts is only right and proper! On this matter, you should set an example! I don’t think Nathan is wrong."

The moment the old master spoke, Victor Linden was filled with utter despair.

Anne Sutton watched Master Linden, realizing that when it came to the Linden Family’s affairs, he really did have Nathan Fawcett’s back.

He wouldn’t undermine Nathan Fawcett.

For that, Anne Sutton rather admired him!

Victor Linden, who had been beaming with joy just moments ago, couldn’t manage a smile now!

He now had only two choices. One was to watch his own son go to jail.

The other was to sell the house he currently lived in to pay off Ryan Linden’s debt!

But...

That old house was his roots!

Once it was sold, buying it back would be impossible!

With Ryan Linden’s abilities, it would be extremely difficult for him to ever buy it back!

A table full of delicious delicacies was laid out, but the father and son had no appetite for it now.

Victor Linden was so enraged that he fainted on the spot.

Ryan Linden caught his father, crying out, "Dad..."

Anne Sutton stood up and took a look at him; she was a doctor, after all.

After examining Victor Linden, Anne Sutton said, "It’s fine. Nothing serious."

He had fainted from anger, but there was nothing seriously wrong. Victor Linden’s health wasn’t that poor. He was only Nathan Fawcett’s uncle and not much older than Anna Linden, so he wasn’t that fragile.

Seeing Anne Sutton’s casual demeanor, Ryan Linden said angrily, "What do you mean by that? You’re not suggesting my father is faking it, are you?"

"I never said that," Anne Sutton replied, looking at Ryan Linden. "I’m just telling it like it is. Or how about I call an ambulance for you and have him sent to the hospital?"

Ryan Linden didn’t argue back.

Nathan Fawcett had someone make the call, and soon, an ambulance arrived and took Victor Linden away.

After the commotion died down, Anne Sutton returned to her room. She stood by the window, watching as the view outside slowly darkened.

The two little ones, Ian and Donna, were playing on the lawn, with the maid assigned to watch them nearby.

Anne Sutton stared at the scene intently. Nathan Fawcett walked up and wrapped his arms around her waist from behind. "Are you mad at me?"

"Why would I be mad at you?" Anne Sutton said. "What’s there to be so mad about? You’re overthinking it!"

Nathan Fawcett turned her around to face him. Seeing her serious expression, he leaned in and kissed her cheek. "You’re unhappy because I didn’t discuss today’s matter with you beforehand?"

Ever since she found out Victor Linden was coming over for dinner, Anne Sutton hadn’t given Nathan Fawcett a proper look.

Even after Victor Linden was taken away by the ambulance, Anne Sutton still ignored him.

Anne Sutton said, "Why would I be unhappy about a decision made by the great President Fawcett?"

Nathan Fawcett lowered his head and kissed her cheek again. "I’m sorry. I should have discussed something like this with you. It was a spur-of-the-moment idea today, so I didn’t get a chance to tell you. Anne, please don’t be mad at me, okay?"

Anne Sutton looked at the man. "You made me lose a lot of face today, you know that? I actually thought he came over on his own! But in the end... it was a real slap in the face for me."

Nathan Fawcett said, "I know I was wrong. I should have told you beforehand."

"What’s the use of saying that now!" Anne Sutton retorted. "Whatever, I’m just being petty. You, Mr. Fawcett, are so brilliantly clever, twisting everyone around your little finger."

Right now, Ryan Linden was still at the hospital with his father!

And Nathan Fawcett and the others hadn’t even gone to visit.

But...

This dinner orchestrated by Nathan Fawcett today would ensure that the father and son wouldn’t sleep soundly for days to come.

Nathan Fawcett said, "I just wanted to vent some frustration for you and let them know who they’re dealing with! I was furious that he spoke about my mother that way."

Anne Sutton looked at the man before her and said nothing.

She knew he was a filial son!

Nathan Fawcett hadn’t reacted at all these past few days, so Anne Sutton had thought he’d forgotten the incident. It turned out he was just biding his time and plotting something.

Nathan Fawcett looked at her, coaxing her with a smile. "Forgive me! Hmm?"

His voice was deep and gentle.

Seeing this man acting so cute and spoiled, Anne Sutton couldn’t keep a straight face.

She pushed him away, not wanting him to see her giving in so easily!

’I’m not going to forgive this man so easily!’

As the two were talking in the room, Lana Langley walked over and knocked on the door. "Anne, Anne."

Hearing her voice, Anne Sutton glanced at Nathan Fawcett. "I’ll get the door."

With that, she walked to the door.

She saw Lana Langley standing at the entrance, looking anxious.

"What’s wrong?" Anne Sutton asked.

Lana Langley said, "I just heard that Ryan Linden’s father was taken to the hospital. How is he?"

"Why are you so concerned about him?" Anne Sutton asked. "Ryan Linden’s father has always been against your divorce! He only protects his son. What’s it got to do with you?"

Lana Langley smiled. "It’s nothing, I was just curious. What happened?"

"Not much," Anne Sutton said. "Nathan Fawcett taught him a lesson. When he heard that Ryan Linden would have to pay back the money, he wasn’t happy! Then he fainted from anger. It’s fine, I checked him over. There’s nothing wrong with him."

Hearing this, Lana Langley said, "Oh, so that’s what happened!"

Recalling how Lana Langley used to cry and throw fits over Ryan Linden’s debts, Anne Sutton said, "Donna and Ian are playing downstairs. If you haven’t eaten, you should go eat!"

Lana Langley looked at Anne Sutton and said, "Okay. By the way, I’ve thought about it, and I’ve decided I still want to divorce Ryan Linden!"

Hearing Lana Langley’s words, Anne Sutton nodded. "That’s good."

If she didn’t divorce Ryan Linden...

With all the money he owed, she could forget about living a good life!

But if they divorced, Ryan Linden’s gambling debts would have nothing to do with her.

Lana Langley looked at Anne Sutton. "I’ll go eat first then."

With that, she went downstairs.

At the hospital, Ryan Linden stayed by his father’s side. Since it was just the two of them in the hospital room, Victor Linden stopped pretending to be sick.

He lay on the hospital bed, looked at Ryan Linden, and said, "You unfilial son! I could just kill you!"

If Ryan Linden had been more responsible and hadn’t run up so much debt, none of this would have happened!

Now, they couldn’t even keep their house!
