Chapter 305 - 305: Ch 305: Ghost Hand

Even though master Ghost Hand was unable to forge anymore, he was still sitting in his workshop while looking at his beloved hammers and the raging fire.

Almost instictively his hands went to one of the hammers and grabbed it. But as he tried to lift it up, an immense amount of pain shot through his hand and he immediately had to drop the hammer. This filled his heart with sadness.

As he was thinking if now was time for him to finally give up and start his journey toward the underworld or not, he heard the voice of his grandson.

Even though this guy was weak physically, he had a impressive brain. So in the very near future, Master Ghost Hand was planning to sent him to the nearby city of Ryukan where a magic ship was soon going to appear.

If this guy could became a magus then that would truly be amazing. In that case, he would even have a little hope that his hand could be cured. And this would also provide his grandson with a better future.

So, in order to not worry him too much before his journey, the old man changed his facial expression and made sure that he was not looking gloomy like before. Instead, he looked cheerful from the outside as if not being able to forge had made him to relax a little.

Then as he was doing his best to conceal all his dark emotions, his grandson appeared before him in a much better mood. Master Ghost Hand was a little surprised after seeing this.

Since he was unable to lift his hammer anymore, this foolish grandson of his had stopped smiling completely. From the perspective of an outsider, it might look like it was the grandson who was most effected by what had happened to him.

So he was actually a bit relieved to see him to be in a good mood once again. And then, his eyes fell on the ladies who who were with him.

Even in his considerably old age, seeing the three ladies, Master Ghost Hand immediately felt his sleeping lust slowly waking up. These ladies were just way too sexy and beautiful.

But with his years of experience, there was no way he would give into his impulses so easily. With this in mind, he managed to control himself and greeted everyone like a jovial old man.

But as soon as his grandson spoke, the smile on his face froze. The reason for this was very simple to understand.

"Grandpa, this lady here is an apothecary from a faraway nation and she might be able to cure you. Please listen of her and allow her to check you."

With how influential Master Ghost Hand was, he had already consulted several doctors and apothecaries. But none of them had managed to even find the real reason behind his trouble, let alone treating it. So he had already given up.

But after hearing that these ladies had treatment methods from a faraway lands, he could not help but get some of his hope back.

From how most of the people of this group looked, it was clear that they were not from this region. And if they knew the medical knowledge of that different land, then the chance of him being treated was not zero. Or at least that was what Master Ghost Hand wanted to believe.

As Weiss looked at the old man before her, the very first thing that she noticed was his hands. Looking at him, it was very clear why he was called the "Ghost Hand".

Even though his skin colour was completely normal, for some reason, only his hands were extremely pale. They were so pale that it really looked like something that would belong to a ghost.

But these pale hands were not weak by any means. Just from looking at it, it was clear that these hands were quite powerful. Powerful enough to even crush a rock like nothing.

This was actually not a very big deal as this old man was a mid level knight. And for someone like that, crushing a rock was not hard. But he could do that without the assistance of the life force.

So either his knight's secret art was of extremely high quality with hyper strength specialisation or he had some kind of special physique. As for what was actually the case, Weiss needed to investigate more before finding the correct answer.

So with curiously in her eyes, Weiss asked for the old man's permission and touched his pale hands. Then she used her extremely pure life force to investigate the body of this old man.

While Weiss was doing this, Master Ghost Hand was feeling extremely bewildered. And the reason was the terrifyingly pure life force that he sensed from this lady.

Without a super high perception, it was actually hard to judge how pure someone's life force was. But with how experienced master Ghost Hand actually was, this was something he was capable of doing.

So he was able to understand how powerful the lady before her was. This definitely was the purest life force that he had ever sensed. And this fact increased his hopes even more, even though he was ready to be disappointed.

While Master Ghost Hand waited for the investigation to be over, Weiss was feeling extremely excited. That was because she was able to sense something foreign, something other than life force from the pale hands of this legendary blacksmith.

There was a chance that it was magic. But it actually felt a little different from what Weiss had felt when she had sensed real magic.

So she speculated that this ghost hand was the result of a different energy which was similar to life force. Not as great as magic but still strong enough to turn someone into a superhuman.

So in order to treat this problem, she first needed to understand what this new type of energy was. And as this was something new, Weiss was not sure how long this was going to take.

So she decided to stop for the time being and talk with the Master Ghost Hand and his grandson first. Then depending on what they think, Weiss could decide how much time she was going to give for this treatment.

She needed to leave the city to catch the magic ship, so she could not give too much time to this case. But as Weiss found this to be super interesting, she was willing to spend some time here as long as it was not creating problems for her.

So what was going to happen now ?
