Chapter 142 Crazy person
Chapter 142: Chapter 142 Crazy person
Meanwhile, Daisy walked quickly down the hallway.
Her little slippers made soft tap, tap, tap sounds against the floor.
Her cheeks were puffed up with frustration.
Crazy person...
She grumbled silently in her heart.
Completely, unbelievably, absolutely crazy!
She folded her arms tightly.
His brain has gone on vacation.
After a few more steps, she frowned even harder.
No... His brain packed its suitcase and permanently moved out.
She shook her head dramatically.
What an unbelievable human. Hopeless. Certified crazy.
She huffed.
First he says he loves Jessica. Then he gets angry seeing her and Alessio together. Now he wants to act like a husband. What kind of logic is that?
She threw both hands into the air in exasperation.
Broken compass. Walking confusion. Overgrown potato brain.
The last thought almost made her laugh despite herself. She quickly pressed her lips together.
No.
She wasn’t forgiving him that easily.
With one final dramatic huff, she disappeared into her room and firmly locked the door behind her. She leaned against the wood for a moment.
Then she pushed off the door and walked to her bed. She sat down heavily, staring at the wall.
Her mind was still spinning. Still replaying his words. Still trying to make sense of them.
She shook her head one last time.
He’s impossible. Completely impossible.
Back in her room, she flopped onto the bed with a loud sigh. The soft mattress bounced slightly beneath her weight as she sank into the pillows.
She grabbed the pillow and hugged it tightly, pressing her face into the soft fabric. Her mind kept replaying everything Cedric had said. The words echoed in her head like a broken record, each repetition making her cheeks burn hotter in anger.
"I can fulfill your physical needs..."
Daisy’s eyes widened again just remembering it. Her cheeks burned so intensely that she could feel the heat radiating from her skin.
She buried her burning face into the pillow and let out a muffled scream.
Crazy. Absolutely crazy.
She kicked the blanket in frustration, her legs flailing beneath the covers.
Has he completely lost his mind? What kind of person says something like that?
She rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling. The cracks she had counted so many times before were still there, faint lines in the white plaster. But tonight, they seemed to mock her, forming shapes that looked suspiciously like Cedric’s smug face.
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, Cedric’s serious expression appeared in her mind. His blue eyes, fixed on hers. His voice, calm and matter-of-fact, as if he were discussing a business deal instead of their marriage.
She sat up again with an annoyed groan, running her hands through her hair.
I need to tell someone. Immediately.
Without thinking, she grabbed her phone and called Annie.
The phone rang for a few seconds before the call ended.
A moment later—
Ding!
A message popped onto her screen.
Annie: Daisyyy! I’m sorry. I can’t talk right now.
Another message quickly followed.
Annie: I’m outside with a famous actress for a photoshoot. Everything is chaotic here. I can’t even hear myself think.
Then another.
Annie: Can I call you later?
Daisy looked at the messages and couldn’t help puffing her cheeks. She had really wanted to complain to Annie. She had wanted to vent, to rant, to have someone listen and tell her she wasn’t overreacting.
With a small pout, she typed back.
Daisy: Okay.
She thought for a moment before adding another message.
Daisy: Call me when you’re free. I have something unbelievable to tell you.
She attached a tiny angry-face emoji before sending it.
Within seconds, Annie replied.
Annie: Now you’ve made me curious!
Annie: Don’t disappear. I’ll call you as soon as I’m done!
Daisy smiled faintly at her screen.
Daisy: Okay.
She placed her phone on the bedside table and turned off the lamp.
The room became quiet again. She pulled the blanket up to her chin and closed her eyes.
Five seconds later, her eyes snapped open.
"I can fulfill your physical needs."
Cedric’s words echoed in her head once again.
Daisy groaned silently and pulled the blanket over her entire face.
Stupid Cedric. Crazy Cedric. Broken-brain Cedric.
She turned to her left. Then to her right. Then hugged her pillow again.
Sleep refused to come.
How can he say something like that? After everything?
She tossed again.
What does he even think of me?
Another toss.
Does he think I’m just... waiting for him?
She finally let out an annoyed huff and punched her pillow.
Crazy man.
She closed her eyes again.

The next morning, Daisy woke up feeling more tired than refreshed.
She had barely slept. Every time she was about to fall asleep, Cedric’s ridiculous words would pop into her mind again, making her bury her face into the pillow in frustration. She had tossed and turned for hours, replaying the conversation over and over until the first light of dawn crept through her curtains.
By the time morning arrived, she already had dark circles beneath her eyes. Her reflection in the mirror looked pale and exhausted and she had to splash cold water on her face twice just to feel slightly awake.
After getting ready for work, she quietly picked up her bag and walked downstairs. Her steps were slow, her mind still foggy from lack of sleep.
As soon as she reached the last step, she noticed the dining table was already prepared for breakfast. The delicious smell of freshly made food filled the dining room. Warm bread, eggs, fresh fruit, and coffee. The aroma drifted through the air, inviting and comforting.
She immediately remembered Cedric.
What if he’s here?
The thought alone made her lose her appetite. Her stomach tightened, and she suddenly felt like she couldn’t eat a single bite.
She wasn’t ready to see his face. Not after last night. Not after the things he had said. She still couldn’t believe he had actually suggested something so absurd.
Without even stepping into the dining room, Daisy quietly turned around and walked straight toward the front door.
