"Oh, come on." Gu Qibao rolled her eyes. "Can you not be so dirty?"

"I’m just telling it like it is." Nangong Ran rubbed her nose.

"I miss our youth." Gu Qibao took a deep breath. "Really, I miss it so much."

"Yeah, I really miss it too." Nangong Ran also took a deep breath. "And now Bo Chenghe’s back too, it’s just we haven’t had a chance to actually talk to him yet."

"Yeah." Gu Qibao nodded. "Bo Chenghe’s grown up and gotten hotter, did you notice?"

"Totally!" Nangong Ran nodded as well. "They always say girls change the most as they grow up, didn’t expect guys to change that much too. He got handsome—sharp features and all!"

"Way more mature now." Gu Qibao laughed. "Can’t believe in the blink of an eye it’s been six or seven years."

"Yeah, seven, eight years. How many seven, eight years do you even get in a lifetime?" Nangong Ran sighed. "Back when all that stuff happened, I said with Bo Chenghe’s personality he probably wouldn’t stay in the country, and sure enough, I was right."

"Anyway, now people have changed and things are over, haven’t they?" Gu Qibao looked at Nangong Ran, narrowing her eyes slightly. "Don’t you think?"

"Yeah." Nangong Ran nodded. "I’ve always said, there’s no ’what if’ in life..."

"But even if there’s no ’what if’, we can still get together, can’t we?" Gu Qibao suggested.

"Aren’t we already together now?" Nangong Ran chuckled. "What more do you want?"

"This doesn’t count. We can’t properly reminisce like this. I’m thinking maybe we should make a trip to Jinse?" Gu Qibao grinned.

Nangong Ran’s smile turned bright too. She nodded. "That sounds like a pretty good idea."

The two looked at each other, smiled, and nodded. Gu Qibao raised a brow. "So, tonight?"

"Tonight it is, you think I’m scared of you guys?" Nangong Ran arched her brows too, putting on an arrogant look, like she’d gone back to that reckless age when they knew nothing of the world and had no emotional messes to worry about.

"Mm, it’s a deal then." A smile curved on Gu Qibao’s lips.

"Second sis-in-law, third sis-in-law, you’re here, I’ve been looking all over for you!" Di Jinxuan’s voice came from a distance.

Nangong Ran and Gu Qibao both lifted their eyes to look over, their lips curving at the same time.

"The banquet’s about to start, what are you two still doing here?" Di Jinxuan walked over. Time actually hadn’t left much of a mark on her face.

Gu Qibao’s gaze fell on her face, watching her walk over against the sunlight. It was like Gu Qibao saw the old her again, before she married Nangong Jin, that carefree little princess.

"We’re here reminiscing about our youth." Nangong Ran held out her hand to Di Jinxuan.

Di Jinxuan reached out and took her hand, and asked in passing, "What youth?"

"What do you think?" Gu Qibao also reached a hand out to her.

"Ours?" Di Jinxuan stretched out her other hand and took Gu Qibao’s.

"Who else?" Nangong Ran laughed.

"Mm." Di Jinxuan nodded, the corners of her lips lifting. "Our bygone youth. Don’t you think this whole fate thing is kind of magical?"

"What’s magical about it?" Gu Qibao and Nangong Ran asked in unison.

"Who would’ve thought the three of us would end up relatives?" Di Jinxuan scrunched her nose cutely. "Did either of you ever imagine that?"

"Honestly, not at all." Gu Qibao and Nangong Ran both laughed.

"Have you talked to Bo Chenghe?" Nangong Ran suddenly asked.

"Just said hi, haven’t really chatted." Di Jinxuan answered.

"Then can we ask you out tonight?" Gu Qibao raised her eyebrow.

"You dare?" Nangong Ran raised her brows too.

"What’s there not to dare?" Di Jinxuan arched a brow as well, looking like she’d never admit defeat.
