Chapter 1503: My Name Is Nicole—Nicole as in "depth" and "tide" [6]

Officer Walters finished speaking, took Regina from Jose Floyd’s hands, and said, "Are you two here for a vacation in the town? This flood is a once in a century event and might not recede anytime soon. Better head back to the hotel; I’ll take Regina back to the station while the armed police search for Miss Nicole."

Henrik Woody nodded and waved goodbye to Officer Walters and his group.

Officer Walters and his team turned around carrying Regina. Regina looked at Jose Floyd, her eyes filled with reluctance to part.

"Team leader, there’s a call from the armed police; they are asking for Miss Nicole’s full name and information." An officer holding a phone said to Officer Walters, who was carrying Regina.

Officer Walters replied casually while holding Regina, "Nicole, chestnut curly hair, in her twenties, local to our town..."

Just as he turned away and was walking in the opposite direction, Jose Floyd heard these words, his body trembled violently, and his thin lips pressed tightly.

"Young Master Floyd, what’s wrong?" Henrik Woody noticed something was amiss and asked.

Jose Floyd didn’t answer, swiftly turning around, his body excited and nearly stumbling, but luckily Henrik Woody quickly supported him.

"Young Master Floyd, your condition can’t be delayed any longer... I’ll immediately find a doctor to give you an IV," Henrik Woody said with concern after feeling the temperature on Jose Floyd’s body.

Jose Floyd acted as if he didn’t hear and chased after Officer Walters and his team, his steps quick and hurried.

Jose Floyd blocked the path of Officer Walters and his group, speaking coldly: "What’s the name of the missing woman?"

Officer Walters looked at the somewhat emotional Jose Floyd in surprise, suspicious of his strange behavior.

"Her name is Nicole. She used to be a long-term resident of our town, but it seems she moved elsewhere for seven or eight years, returning to the town more than two years ago."

The timing completely matches!

Nicole was with him for five years, returned to the Seys Family for a few years, and passed away two years ago! Even if she shares the same name, Jose Floyd was certain this was no coincidence but truly, the woman he was looking for was the one Officer Walters mentioned was missing!

Jose Floyd’s entire world brightened.

She’s still alive—Nicole is still alive!

Nothing could make him more excited and joyful than this!

However, the light in Jose Floyd’s eyes dimmed immediately with worry and panic at the thought of Officer Walters mentioning her disappearance.

Without saying another word, Jose Floyd turned and quickly walked away.

"Sir, you must return to the hotel immediately! The water level is rising, it’s very dangerous!"

Officer Walters’ voice sounded behind him, but Jose Floyd ignored it, his gaze becoming firm and deep.

Nicole is still alive; she’s disappeared. How can he be at ease?

He would never let go in this lifetime, would never let her be at risk, he must keep her tightly in his arms to feel secure!

She must not be harmed!

"Young Master Floyd! Young Master Floyd!" Henrik Woody worried about Jose Floyd’s condition, said goodbye to Officer Walters and his group, and hurriedly followed.

Officer Walters and his team watched Jose Floyd’s turning figure depart, puzzled and bewildered.

Why was this stranger tourist so invested in Miss Nicole? Do they have a history together?

Jose Floyd turned and left, searching for Nicole’s figure in the streets.

After searching several streets with low water without finding anyone, they happened to encounter armed police officers coming out on a rubber boat for rescue.

Seeing the two searching in the flood, the armed police stopped the rubber boat and shouted at them, "Get on quickly, do you have a death wish? You two are walking in the floodwaters!"

Jose Floyd looked at the rubber boat, his gaze deepening, and immediately got on one. Henrik Woody also got on one of the rubber boats.

"Where are you staying? We’ll take you back together," the armed police officer asked while rowing the rubber boat.
