Chapter 1487: Is Nicole Still Alive? [3]

Joshua Floyd stood in the living room, looking at the person on the stairs, hesitant and silent, with emotions of struggle surging in his eyes.

Just then, Jose Floyd had already turned around and come downstairs, approaching the silent Joshua with an imposing manner, questioning with a cold voice, "Repeat what you just said to me! Joshua! If you dare to joke about something like this, I will make sure you know how to spell the word ’death’!"

If he dared to tease him, he wouldn’t care about family ties to let him off! Family ties meant nothing to him compared to her!

Joshua hesitantly looked at Jose Floyd, "Don’t get too emotional, I’m not sure either... I just have suspicions..."

"What are you suspicious of?" Jose Floyd stared at Joshua intensely, afraid of missing any subtle expression on his face.

Joshua sat on the sofa and, after a moment of silence, spoke in a low voice, "That day in the operating room, after we treated all of Nicole’s wounds, Arlo Seys asked all the doctors and nurses to leave, including me, leaving only two experts from the military district. And when I left, Nicole was still breathing, even though it was weak, at least she wasn’t... Later, the news of her death came out, and I was stunned, it was too sudden, I couldn’t accept it at the time..."

"Are you saying—she might still be alive? Was she transferred by Arlo Seys? Impossible, her tombstone is in the cemetery, the Seys Family held the funeral... Everyone knows Nicole Seys passed away..." Jose Floyd trembled slightly, not daring to entertain that one-in-a-ten-thousand chance because that possibility might plunge him back into the eighteenth layer of hell to suffer torture.

Joshua pursed his lips, his eyes deep, "Nicole couldn’t be anesthetized under those injuries, do you know why? Jose Floyd, I promised Nicole, who was gravely injured on the operating table, not to tell you about her situation, I can’t break my promise. If you want to know the truth, go to the Seys Family... I suggest you find Ariel Morris, she’s the easiest ally for you to win over. If Nicole is still alive, Jose Floyd, then her precious ’remains’ will be your treasure! Don’t miss it."

He couldn’t forget how Nicole grabbed his hand in a daze and said, ’Don’t tell him about the anesthesia... My body...’.

Nicole was afraid she wouldn’t make it and would die, so she asked him to hide some things under those circumstances.

Nicole was thinking of Jose Floyd, afraid he couldn’t bear blow after blow. As a friend, he had to agree in that situation.

Three years, it was actually just his position as a friend, giving a test to Jose Floyd after Nicole had suffered so much.

If in those three years, he forgot Nicole little by little, he wouldn’t say these things to him, even if he was his biological brother. As a friend of Nicole, he couldn’t let Nicole get hurt by this man again.

And knowing that in the past two and a half years, Jose Floyd hadn’t been well, constantly missing Nicole, as his blood-related brother, Joshua couldn’t bear to watch him suffer anymore.

If his speculation was correct, then being together with the one you love is the best outcome.

"In those circumstances, anesthesia couldn’t be used... Joshua, explain yourself clearly!" Jose Floyd tightly grabbed Joshua’s collar, his eyes filled with urgency.

Joshua shook his head, "Even if you kill me, I won’t say, this is my promise to her."

Besides, her not dying was just his speculation, if Nicole really was dead, that matter must not be exposed, otherwise, the rest of Jose Floyd’s life would only be more painful.
