Lord: Starting with Biological Modification
Chapter 346 - 339: Infiltrating Peace Bay
Chapter 346: Chapter 339: Infiltrating Peace Bay
Mia shook her head back and forth like a rattle.
"I’m not going!"
"Absolutely not! Those pirates are smelly and dirty, and they kill without blinking an eye! I’ll be made into fish food! I definitely will!"
Velin just watched her calmly, not saying a word.
Seeing that verbal threats were useless, Mia decided to use her ultimate move.
She plopped onto the ground with a THUD, then immediately rolled over and started throwing a tantrum on the dusty floor.
"I’m just a poor, weak, and helpless succubus! I can’t do anything! Waaah, Master doesn’t want me anymore, he’s sending me to be fed to pirates..."
As she wailed, she secretly watched Velin’s reaction out of the corner of her eye.
However, Velin remained as impassive as ever.
He watched Mia roll around on the floor, getting her already tattered clothes even filthier, and found it somewhat amusing.
Three minutes later, Mia’s wails gradually faded, and her rolling slowed down, turning into listless squirming.
"Moonlight Sugar," Velin said, in a tone that simply stated facts. "The highest-grade product from the Elven Workshop. Congealed from the nectar of Moonlight Flowers on the night of a full moon. Each piece is hand-simmered with the morning dew of a nascent Evening Primrose, then given a final enchantment by a Moonlight Chanter. The ones circulating on the market mostly have a purity of around seventy percent."
GULP.
Mia swallowed a mouthful of saliva, a sound echoing in her throat.
’Silver Moon Forest... Elven Workshop... Moonlight Chanter...’
The impact of these words combined was far greater on her than "Bloodsail Brotherhood" and "the Church’s witch hunters."
"Complete the mission," Velin continued, "and I’ll give you a whole case. Top-grade, with a purity of over ninety-eight percent."
Her survival instinct and her craving waged a fierce battle in her mind.
On one side were vicious pirates and witch hunters; on the other, sparkling Moonlight Sugar.
The war lasted only three seconds.
Mia leaped up from the ground, her movements so agile they completely belied her near-death act from a moment ago.
She vigorously slapped the dust off her clothes, puffed out her small chest, and declared with unprecedented solemnity, "Deal!"
Her grave, earnest expression made her look like a completely different person.
"Master! For the sake of your grand ambition, Mia is willing to offer everything! Please give me my orders!"
Then, she added somewhat sheepishly, "But... there’s one small problem."
She pointed to her own height, which didn’t even reach Velin’s waist.
"In my current state, I can’t use many of my innate succubus abilities. Forget about gathering intelligence, I probably can’t even charm a sailor on a pirate ship."
"I’ve already prepared for that." Velin took a crystal vial from his coat. It was filled with a silvery liquid that shone like moonlight.
"A temporary growth potion, specially made for you. It can temporarily supplement the elements your body lacks, allowing you to grow into your adult succubus form," Velin explained. "It’s effective for one week. The side effects are a week of muscle soreness and mental fatigue after it wears off."
Mia leaned in and sniffed cautiously at the crystal vial.
"This... isn’t another bitter, weird potion, is it?" she asked, her voice tinged with lingering fear.
"It’s been flavored with honey and raspberry juice."
Velin’s answer put her completely at ease.
She took the potion, uncorked it, and tilted her head back to down it in one gulp.
The next second, a blinding silver light erupted from her body, illuminating the entire corner as if it were day.
Within the light, her bones made popping sounds. Her limbs were stretched by an invisible force. A slender waist, full breasts, and long legs were rapidly sketched into form amidst the light and shadow.
When the light dissipated, the malnourished little girl had vanished.
In her place appeared a stunning beauty with a fiery figure, enough to drive any man wild.
A waterfall of silver hair cascaded down to her waist. Her originally oversized, coarse clothes were now stretched taut against her body, outlining breathtaking curves.
Her purple eyes had lost some of their childish innocence, replaced by a natural, innate charm.
However, this freshly-minted femme fatale seemed a bit bewildered by her current state.
She looked down at herself, then looked up and tried to take a step forward.
"Ah!"
With a cry of alarm, she couldn’t adapt to her suddenly longer legs. She lost her balance and fell stiffly forward.
A black shadow flashed past.
Kael, who had appeared out of nowhere, stretched out his arm and steadily caught Mia just before she made intimate contact with the floor.
Still shaken, Mia grabbed Kael’s arm to steady herself.
She looked down at her long, straight legs, her face filled with confusion. "Legs... Why won’t my legs listen to me?"
"Kael," Velin said.
"Sir."
"Give her some emergency pre-deployment training," Velin ordered. "Teach her how to walk properly and how to proficiently use all the abilities she can now access. I need a competent spy, not a decorative vase who trips over her own feet."
Kael’s eyebrow twitched imperceptibly, but he still accepted the order. "Yes, my lord."
This would be a trial for Kael as well.
Motivated by Moonlight Sugar and Kael’s nearly cram-style teaching, Mia’s progress was astonishingly fast. After all, these abilities already flowed in her blood; all she needed to do was re-adapt.
「Three days later.」
When Mia, with a casual glance back, was able to make a passing Knight from the Raging Waves Knight Order freeze in his tracks and voluntarily offer her his waterskin, Kael knew the training was over.
The final step of the plan was to arrange a "chance encounter."
On a foggy morning, a patrol boat flying the flag of the Bloodsail Brotherhood discovered a piece of floating ship wreckage in the reef area outside of Peace Bay.
And, sprawled on the wreckage, was an unconscious beauty, her soaked clothes clinging to her body.
Whistling, the pirates scrambled to haul this "lucky gift" aboard.
They had intended to handle her roughly, but the moment they touched her skin, their movements unconsciously became gentle.
Mia "opportunely" woke up, her eyes filled with just the right amount of confusion and fear. She curled up, playing the part of a helpless girl who had survived a shipwreck.
With a combination of convincing acting and her succubus abilities, Mia easily captured the hearts of the pirates on board.
No one suspected her origins.
They only knew that they had found a treasure, a top-tier prize to offer their boss.
The patrol boat turned around and, carrying its unexpected prize, sailed toward that sinful port hailed as "Pirate Paradise"—Peace Bay.
Mia continued to play the part of a helpless girl, huddled in a corner of the deck, but she was secretly sizing everything up from the corner of her eye.
She saw the patrol boat exchange complex flag signals with several other roaming pirate ships as they approached the island—clearly some form of identification.
As the ship passed through a natural barrier formed by shipwrecks and giant reefs, a chaotic and massive port city finally came into view.
Countless masts stood like a forest of dead trees, and bizarrely shaped ships crowded the harbor. The air began to fill with an even stronger stench of alcohol, sweat, and the salty tang of the sea, mixing into a nauseating odor.
The patrol boat slowly pulled up to a bustling dock, and a heavy wooden plank was thrown down onto the shore with a THUD.
"We’re home, little beauty!" a pirate sneered, grinning with a mouth full of yellow teeth as he reached for her with a rough, large hand.
The fear in Mia’s eyes deepened by just the right amount, and her body trembled slightly.
She knew the real test was just beginning.
