Chapter 2118: That Future And This Present

Even Loki before he became Sovereign sometimes have to fight friends and people, he considers family because of that damn "loyalty"

What the common people called loyalty is what the ruling class called successful indoctrination

So that the common people would give their life for the one that is oppressing them.

If that is not indoctrination and is not brainwashing, then what do you call that?

As for the Battle in Africa, that chain managed to chain the Annihilator long enough for the World Government to call the Prince and for the Prince to descend into the mortal world

And the moment they met each other; the Annihilator suddenly went amuck.

At that time and even after the battle, even after analyzing the battle from all sides and perspective, the World Government did not understand why the Annihilator suddenly broke through the chain

And then the Annihilator did not spare any expense in fighting even overdrawing the energy that is in its body to fight against Azief

Almost like he had a grudge against him. When that should not be possible considering that was the first time that Azief had ever met the Annihilator.

"I however have now the advantage of hindsight" Loki mutters to himself as he remembers this old stories.

He believes that the Time Lords and even The Orvan had a hand on this matter

The danger that the Annihilator is supposed to eradicate is humanity.

But maybe it is because the Deharian race had long foreseen that the cause of the End of the world would be coming from humanity"

This is the conclusion that Loki had drew

The Deharian race might have calculated that it would be Azief that would be the trigger for the End of everything

Though, it might be that the Deharian race did not get the full story

They might know the specific person.

They could not narrow it and that is why they targeted humanity at large

And one must know that there are many humanities.

After all there is infinite universes out there. Even before the Annihilator come to Earth, it had come to other worlds and annihilate a few other world

Deharian race extinction is justice itself

It was only after a few dozen world filled with humans had been eradicated that the Annihilator seems to found its target and reached Earth Prime.

Azief fought the Annihilator and died. And then he came back

But now that there are seven great powers, would the Annihilator able to have such fortuitous set of events again?

There are seven great powers.

And regardless of the competition between them, all of them have invested a lot in the security of this Milky Way galaxy.

Hirate for example had even harnessed the power of a death star to create something resembling a cosmic interplanetary destruction device.

In the past, there is only two powers.

And they are locked into struggle.

Everything is political.

And even if there are people who wants to do things, in the end, the politics hinders things

Not to mention that the Sovereigns itself is there.

And the Sovereign backed these two powers. Katarina backs the Revolutionary army and Raymond back the World Government

The Death God had a cult, had temples, had worship place dedicated for him, had festivals and celebration for him but he did not have mortal kingdom or mortal organization to act for him

Maybe because of that, he rarely interferes in the matters of the world. Because he did not care that much

And when it is time for him to do something and he himself did not want to descend, he simply chooses a Champion among his devotees.

Though most of the Champion of the Death God are usually not his devotees.

Most of them are even blasphemous. Some of them don’t even believe he exist until he himself come down on them in vision and dreams

The mortal world and the heavenly world are connected but, in a way, it is also insulated.

Hundreds of years could pass and not all people would reach the realm that is godlike. Sovereign fate ended the moment the Heavenly Will was torn apart

But there are already seven sovereigns.

And those who remains in the real Earth knows that Sovereigns sometimes walks among them

But there were many parts in the world that secluded themselves and in secluding themselves they sometime forgot.

It is just the way how time works

The old generation dies and the new generation forgot.

And sometimes it is distorted.

So, some people thought that the Death God is a God and created temples, worship halls and all kinds of things for him

Loki smiles when he thought of all this.

It was like a lifetime ago.

For him, it was on that lifetime, he learns all that needs to learn about human nature.

The good, the evil, those who would do everything to survive and those who would rather die than betray their conscience

Loki had seen the ugliness of people and he had seen the beauty of it.

And even sometimes, when the story is a bit different, it is still the story of the ugliness and the beauty of the human heart

And he would not get bored of it

He sighed

How many things would change now?

No wonder the Omniverse shakes with such intensity

Loki could not help but smile

As for him...he could stay in this world as long as Azief did not yet become a Sovereign. If he stays after Azief become a Sovereign, then he would have a different problem

"Now, that I am free for a moment, I need to use this time wisely" to him this is a new world entirely. It is a very different world than the world he come from

To the people of this world, their world might be dark, there is suffering all around, the people itself is now just recovering from the wars and the occupations of alien civilization.

Not to mention the monsters and beast attack and the megalomaniac rulers or warlords and there are many things that the world needs to recuperate from

But to him, he had seen what a dark world really is.

This is practically sunshine and rainbows.

There is order even among the chaos and people could still live.

The rulers do want the people to survive.

And there are responsible people helming the position of power.

Yes, some of them wanted it for fortune and power but they did not abandon the people

To him, this is a new world entirely.

And because it is a different world, he needs to learn about it

He then looks around him and he sighed

"I wonder what the others is doing. They must know that their time is about to come up. And knowing myself" he paused for a second and smile "I would be doing something behind my own back"

Most of the other Loki had been released.

And they all do their own thing.

Because they do not have the full picture, and they did not have his knowledge, they probably would lack certain thing to do their work

Loki had many more things to do. He expected that this day would come. The day when he could actually appear on this world without worrying that is memory would get wiped out by the Will of the Omniverse

The only thing he didn’t expect is how fast that moment would be. He was expecting a few more decades.

"It is true that it was I that hasten Azief growth. But this fast? This is not only because of my interference"

He closed his eyes and smile

He thought of everything that had happened since he become one of the butterflies that is flapping its wing in this new timeline and he could not help but smile

And he thought of everyone that comes after that. Some of them were helping Azief and some of them were hindering him.

But whether it was helping him or hindering him all of that influence the events

Until the butterfly flap of the wing created such a massive storm

Loki did not know how to describe his feelings. Before, all of his action was still in the planning stage.

And he felt it would be very long before he could reach the point where the end is near

Now, the End is truly near. When Azief breaks through the Sovereign realm.... if he could break it, then things would surely be more interesting

But it is also more terrifying. It is because this time, Loki knows there would be no do over.

This is just a feeling he have. This would be the only time such chance is given. Even if Jean is able to do that magic again.... he would not be able to affect the entire Omniverse.

Loki had his own speculations what or who helped Jean in that last moment.

This time however Jean would probably not be helped again. Whoever or whatever this being is that helps Jean....it helped Jean because Jean found the path to salvation

But this being probably would only allow it once. This is the premonition he felt

And the closer he is to the end, the more fearful he felt. He shakes his head and this complicated feeling in his heart seems to swallow him whole in this moment

He sighed, his sigh is long, his mind is disordered

"Win or lose.... this is the last one" Loki had done the best he could do.
