Lord of Prayer
Chapter 742 - 464: Sun God
Chapter 742: Chapter 464: Sun God
The moment the souls of heroes past fulfilled their long-held wishes, a vast amount of Star Dust surged from the Prayer Bottle. As a wish was made, it coalesced into a brilliant point of light, as if embodying all the magnificence and beauty in the world—like the first light of dawn at the edge of the sky, a glimmer of hope pursued by countless people.
The point of light from the Great Miracle merged into his Soul, defying all logic as it elevated Zhou Chen’s true tier to Tier Five. The many Authorities he wielded integrated seamlessly at that moment. High Tier knowledge that would have taken ages to comprehend and master simply appeared in his Soul, branded into his instincts without the slightest discomfort.
In a single instant, Zhou Chen understood everything. He had officially entered the Realm of the Crowned King, his footing firm and secure.
However, before he even had a chance to experience his new Power and Authority, an Any Door materialized before him. A Star Association scholar in a white lab coat shouted for him to get in, quickly.
Feeling the escalating fluctuations from the Divine War, Zhou Chen willed it, and in an instant, he was inside the building on the other side. As the Any Door closed, distancing them from the turmoil on Gaia, the scholar let out a visible sigh of relief.
"I was worried you were going to stay and get involved in the Divine War."
"I’m not that reckless."
Zhou Chen knew full well that even if the blessing allowed him to briefly stand at the Demigod Tier, he was no match for a true God. Getting involved in a battle erupting between multiple Gods, moreover, was a guaranteed death sentence.
The people of Gaia had already been evacuated to a safe zone. He had used a wish to condense the Authority over all of Gaia into the Sword of Ten Thousand Kings, fulfilling the wishes of the souls of heroes past and allowing him to become a Crowned King. All his objectives were met; there was no reason to remain.
Even if Gaia were to be destroyed in the Divine War, it could be rebuilt. With the Sword of Ten Thousand Kings, he could easily find a new land and restore Gaia.
"Follow me, the President wants to see you... Hmm, but you have another mission first." The scholar beckoned Zhou Chen to follow him out. "This is the Star Association’s most vital department—Zone One. My name is No. 9. Call me whatever you like."
Zhou Chen was puzzled. "The President you mentioned... is that the President of the Star Association?"
"Yes," No. 9 nodded.
Zhou Chen was stunned. The President of the Star Association was arguably the most mysterious person in the World, bar none. There was no public information or record of him; everything was just unconfirmed rumor. Many speculated that the position of President didn’t even exist within the Star Association. Yet, a considerable number of people swore they had met the President, even receiving missions directly from him, though they all claimed their memories of the event became hazy afterward, leaving them unable to recall specifics.
Some said the President was an AI from the Old Era. Others claimed it was a sentient ancient tome, or even an ancient Undead. These countless rumors only served to make the identity of the Star Association’s President more enigmatic, shrouding it in a thick fog of mystery.
"The President and a few of the elders are old fossils who survived the Old Era, but even they can’t clearly remember what happened back then. In the early days, they speculated that someone sealed away history to prevent the Old Era’s destruction. The excavation of the Divine War Ruins confirmed that theory. After several Divine War Ruins were unearthed, they recovered a significant portion of their memories."
No. 9 added meaningfully, "And those memories include the Miracle Light from the Cosmos."
Zhou Chen’s expression remained unchanged, but inwardly, he was shaken.
He had once wished to see into the past and had learned the origin of the Wish Bottle. In the Old Era, some had called it the Miracle Light from the Cosmos, and it was the wish of an Investigator that had given the Miracle Light a physical form.
’In other words, the Star Association knows about the Wish Bottle.’
"Calm down. Zone One discovered your secret a long time ago. If we had wanted to act on it, we would have done so already."
No. 9 swiped a card, opening a sealed door, and continued down the corridor. "During the Old Era, an Investigator made a wish to the Miracle Light, creating a bottle that could contain it. That’s the one you have. Later, due to some incident, the bottle and the Miracle Light were separated, their whereabouts unknown... Well, you should know the rest. The bottle found its way to you..."
"How much does the President know, exactly?"
Zhou Chen couldn’t help but ask. He thought he was the only one who knew all of this. How could the President of the Star Association know?
"He knows far more than you can imagine. You can discuss it in detail when you meet him. For now, there’s a more important mission." With that, No. 9 opened the last door.
An empty warehouse appeared before Zhou Chen’s eyes.
No. 9 walked over to a control panel and pressed a few buttons. The warehouse floor began to RUMBLE as a platform slowly rose. On it was an upright, rectangular glass case. Behind the glass, a brilliant point of light was Floating in mid-air, radiating endless beauty and magnificence.
Zhou Chen froze.
’This is...’
—The Great Miracle!
"Truly beautiful..."
No. 9 gazed at the Miracle Light, clicking his tongue in admiration. He then explained, "This place is a warehouse from the Old Era’s Stars Association Headquarters. It’s been sealed for over two hundred years. I and many others were curious about what was stored here, but the President said he didn’t know either. All he knew was that a manual mentioned something very important was inside.
After the Divine War Ruins in North Carolina emerged, the President suddenly ordered me to come here and unseal it. Clearly, he’d remembered what was stored inside.
This is a Miracle Light left behind from the Old Era."
After a moment of stunned silence, Zhou Chen processed the information. "So, this is the mission you were talking about?"
"This is only half of it. The other half is up to you," No. 9 hinted.
Zhou Chen was silent for a long moment before it dawned on him. "You want me to use the miracle to help Noah with his Ascension to Divinity?"
"Correct." No. 9 snapped his fingers. "The Abyssal King and the two traitors don’t want to see Noah achieve Ascension to Divinity, so they’ll do everything in their power to obstruct him. Based on our calculations, Noah’s chance of success this time is less than 3%. But if you use the Miracle Light..."
His expression turned grave as he enunciated each word, "...the probability of success becomes 100%!"
The King of Music had already successfully ascended. If Noah could do the same, it would be an incredible morale boost for the World. For the Abyss, however, it would be a catastrophe.
Zhou Chen knew this well. There was nothing more to discuss. He made his wish without a moment’s hesitation.
"Let Noah achieve Ascension to Divinity!"
The Great Miracle descended upon Noah’s Soul. Empowered by the miracle, his hand—which had been meeting infinite resistance—suddenly shattered the shackles binding it from all directions and landed squarely on the gates of the Divine Forbidden Area.
Noah grinned and pushed.
The Great Miracle activated, supplying the final component needed. With unimaginable ease, Noah pushed open the gates of the Divine Forbidden Area.
In that instant, a gentle, warm light burst forth, illuminating all things in the World.
A majestic Sun rose, revolving silently behind Noah, becoming the new center of the World.
He spread his arms, embracing the World, and proclaimed to all creation:
"I am the Sun God!"
