Chapter 710: Chapter 445: Frost Giant
According to the map, the seal of Frost Giant Begger was located at a place called Skeleton Lake.
The lake was on the edge of the High Heaven Snowfield. Although the environment wasn’t as harsh as the depths of the snowfield, it snowed year-round, and the temperature was extremely low. Rumor had it that man-eating Yetis roamed the area. Hundreds of people went missing nearby every year, so it had been designated a Restricted Area many years ago.
After a two-hour journey, Zhou Chen arrived near Skeleton Lake. Heavy snow fell from the sky as the cold wind howled.
He used the Transformation Mask to conjure a white robe that blended in with the snow. Lying prone on a high point, he observed the area below with a pair of binoculars.
Skeleton Lake earned its name because its overall shape resembled a skull. The skull’s two eyes were a pair of small, barren islands blanketed in thick snow. The surrounding lake water had long since frozen over and was also covered by a layer of snow.
"There’s no trace of any Illusion Technique here," Danika said after a moment of Sensing.
’The location marked on the map is right here. Since there are no Illusion Techniques on the surface, it’s most likely underground...’
Zhou Chen adjusted the binoculars, switching to thermal imaging. When he looked toward Skeleton Lake again, he saw a massive heat source over three hundred meters below the surface. It was clearly a huge underground structure.
’The cell should be in the deepest part of this stronghold. How am I going to get in...’ Zhou Chen mused.
He opened his map and studied the surrounding terrain, quickly making a discovery.
On the map, a winding black line appeared five or six hundred meters to the left. It was a topographical line, indicating a significant difference in elevation.
Zhou Chen took out his Magic Staff and cast an enhancement Magic on himself called Light as a Feather, which allowed him to walk on snow without leaving any tracks.
He walked to the edge of a cliff and looked down. It was a drop of about four hundred meters.
Just as he was preparing for a leap of faith, he suddenly spotted several dark figures flash across the snowy expanse far below. He focused his gaze, but the figures had already vanished, disappearing into the heavy snowfall.
Zhou Chen quickly raised his binoculars and saw several heat signatures moving at high speed in the distance.
They were six humanoid silhouettes. One of them was nearly two and a half meters tall and powerfully built; its heat signature was far stronger than the other five. It was fleeing at Rapid Speed while the others gave chase, intent on killing it.
’That build looks like a Yeti... Is someone hunting a Yeti?’
A thought occurred to Zhou Chen. The only people who would dare to be out and about in this weather were either Players or Desecration Cultists.
’If they’re Desecration Cultists, this will be much easier...’
’I should sneak over and see what’s going on.’
He raised his Magic Staff and swung it in an arc. The gemstone set in its tip glowed with a phantasmal light, and his figure slowly faded from view.
—Invisibility Technique.
Zhou Chen leaped. Thanks to Light as a Feather, his fall from such a great height didn’t stir up a single snowflake.
Before long, he had caught up to the group.
"ROAR!"
A bestial roar echoed through the blizzard. A shockwave erupted, momentarily clearing the swirling snow.
On the disturbed snow, a tall, powerfully built, two-headed creature covered in white fur beat its chest. Both its heads let out furious roars in unison. Its body was covered in grievous wounds, and its blood splattered across the ground, staining the surrounding snow crimson.
Wisps of crimson vapor steamed from beneath its fur, coiling around the Yeti. The eyes on both of its heads instantly turned scarlet, filled with a crazed light.
Circling it were five Desecration Cultists dressed in white. Their eyes were pitch-black, and they reeked of a high concentration of Abyssal Contamination. Their mutations were severe; all of them had sprouted extra limbs and organs.
Seeing the Yeti enter a bloodthirsty, berserk state, they immediately backed away. Once its rampage ended, the Yeti would enter a state of exhaustion, at which point it would be easy to kill.
One Desecration Cultist—the lower half of his face mutated into limp feelers and his arms transformed into sucker-covered octopus tentacles—was extremely cautious. He retreated a great distance, using the blizzard to conceal himself. He was very confident in his ability to stay alive; at this distance, not even his companions could spot him, let alone the Yeti...
SHLICK!
But just then, out of the blizzard, a longsword pierced through his heart from behind without warning.

’Pathetic loot...’ Zhou Chen complained inwardly. He quickly used his Transformation Mask to assume the appearance of the Desecration Cultist. The lower half of his face warped into countless writhing tentacles, and both his arms became tentacles he could extend at will.
This time, instead of using Cyan Flame to destroy the evidence, he used Decomposition of All Things. The Rule activated, and the wide-eyed corpse instantly disintegrated into a pile of dust that scattered in the wind and snow.
BAM! BAM! BAM...
The sounds of fierce fighting echoed through the snow. A dozen seconds later, the Yeti let out a bloodcurdling shriek and then fell silent.
Zhou Chen followed the sounds and saw the Yeti’s two heads rolling on the ground. Its headless corpse lay nearby, with hot blood gushing out and melting the snow.
"Whew, we finally got it. Now we’ve got rations. If we’re frugal, this will last us for days!" a three-armed Cultist with an extra eye on his cheek said excitedly.
"Let’s hurry and haul the body back. Don’t touch the heads," said a three-faced Cultist, glancing at the two severed heads on the ground.
Several slender, black tentacles peeked out from the Yeti’s ears. A few seconds later, two masses of black tentacles squirmed out, scurrying away as they flailed wildly.
