Chapter 674: Chapter 426: Magma Giant Beast Brain Share
BOOM!!!!
An earth-shattering explosion. Scalding, crimson magma erupted like ocean spray, and a pillar of fire and lava shot into the sky, surging nearly a hundred meters high. In that moment, the massive crater bloomed like an incandescent red lotus, a shockingly vivid crimson.
The wildly splashing magma formed a sea of sparks, raining down upon the land in a dense, thunderous torrent.
The entire sky was blotted out by a rain of fire and magma. Its range was incredibly vast, so dense that there was nowhere to hide.
Layer after layer of the meteoric fire-rain poured down, instantly transforming the land into a blinding sea of molten fire.
Zhou Chen’s body transformed into an incandescent white steel form, and in an instant, he was swallowed by the overwhelming rain of fire.
RUMBLE RUMBLE RUMBLE...
A series of deep rumbles, like muffled thunder, echoed from the crater. After a brief silence, a massive octopus tentacle wreathed in scorching magma reached out from the pit. It slammed down with a deafening crash, shattering a volcano that was venting scalding white steam. Magma burst forth as the mountain broke apart, sending fragments flying in all directions and causing a chain reaction of destruction.
More and more dark red octopus tentacles emerged from the crater. Each time one slammed down, several more volcanoes were destroyed. In just a short while, the entire mountain range was ravaged beyond recognition.
Looking down from the sky, one would see the five-kilometer-diameter crater surrounded by sprawling, magma-drenched octopus tentacles. Each tentacle was as massive as a city wall, their length even more astonishing—and that wasn’t even their full reach.
Then, before Zhou Chen’s astonished eyes, a behemoth slowly rose from the crater. It brought vast quantities of searing magma with it, which cascaded down like waterfalls as an indescribably terrifying pressure filled the air.
It was a monstrous octopus head, as colossal as a blazing volcano, bearing a single, enormous eye.
The clear, yellow eye was shot through with crimson veins. Twelve ancient Gaia numerals were spaced evenly around its edge. Three vertical lines extended from the pupil: the shortest pointed to "four," the longest to "six," and a third, slender line was slowly rotating clockwise.
It looked like a bizarre clock.
DUM DUM DUM—
A grand symphony swelled in Zhou Chen’s ears, signaling that he had entered combat.
The BOSS’s name appeared.
—[Great Ktuous]—
[Side Quest "Only a Storm Can Fell a Great Tree" has been updated!]
"I’ve never seen a creature like this before..." came the surprised voice of the Nameless Ghost.
"This... this seems to be a monster created by the Desecration Church over seventy years ago. I heard it escaped and vanished, but I never imagined it would secretly grow to this extent... It’s probably no weaker than the Volcano Tyrant by now."
Danika’s voice followed. "It possesses the Ability to control time. When near death, it can rewind its own time, restoring itself to its peak state."
"And its weak point?" Zhou Chen asked hurriedly.
"It should be its eyeball. Be careful!"
RUMBLE!
A magma-drenched tentacle swept toward him like an advancing city wall. A human was minuscule in comparison; the smallest of its suckers were as tall as a three-story building. Before it, Zhou Chen was no bigger than an ant.
The Steel Phoenix Fire Feather unfurled behind him. Light and flame erupted from its vector thrusters, and he broke the sound barrier, soaring into the sky to narrowly dodge the sweeping tentacle.
—[Arm Cannon: Heaven Shattering] has been equipped.—
Zhou Chen equipped the Hand Cannon. He had acquired a pile of weapon modules for free from the Magic Academy and the Holy Hall Church, and even had a Mage apply a blessing Enchantment to it. Now, this Hand Cannon was a bona fide +12 deluxe armament.
Light gathered at the cannon’s muzzle as terrifying levels of Energy rapidly built up.
BOOM!
Zhou Chen pulled the trigger, unleashing a roar like ten thousand thunderbolts detonating at once. A surging torrent of incandescent light erupted, seeming to tear the very heavens apart as it screamed toward the volcanic octopus.
The torrent of light seemed minuscule before the behemoth, like a single red-hot needle. Yet the destructive power it contained was unparalleled. In an instant, it pierced Ktuous’s pupil, tearing through all resistance as if it were paper.
SPLAT!
The sound of a water balloon bursting shook the heavens and the earth.
Just like that, Ktuous’s eyeball burst. A massive amount of viscous yellow fluid poured out, flowing into the crater below.
Its health bar instantly dropped by a third. Clearly, Zhou Chen’s attack had hit a vital point and dealt a massive amount of damage!
Ktuous roared in agony. Despite being an octopus, it unleashed a terrifying shriek that shook the mountains. Dozens of its thick tentacles thrashed about like a host of demons, smashing into the ground. The entire World trembled violently, ravaged by the monster’s immense weight.
At its roar, the surrounding volcanoes immediately grew active, erupting one after another. Surging pillars of magma shot into the sky, painting the world a blinding, vivid crimson.
"Does that mean its time Ability is disabled?"
Zhou Chen fired a second Cannon shot, but this attack only chipped away a tiny amount of Ktuous’s Blood Volume.
"No, its eyeball will regenerate!" Danika warned.
’So its weak point is the eyeball,’ Zhou Chen realized as he soared through the air, dodging the attacking tentacles. ’The strategy is to do whatever it takes to destroy it. Breaking it about three times should deplete its Blood Volume, and then it’ll enter its Second Stage...’
After a short skirmish, something began to squirm within Ktuous’s empty eye socket. A few seconds later, a brand new clock-like eyeball had grown in its place.
