Lord of All Gods
Chapter 3392
Lei Ming immediately struck out with her palm, using the power of heaven and earth to send all the warships blocking the way flying. She controlled her strength and did not smash the warships outright.
The group then returned to the flying vessel and continued toward the trade planet. Their vessel was so fast that it vanished from the commander’s sight in the blink of an eye.
Only then did the commander react. He immediately took out a voice-transmission talisman to report the matter to his superiors.
He now realized that these people were certainly extremely powerful—far, far stronger than them. If things went wrong, it could lead to serious consequences, so he did not dare fail to report it.
The supreme commander of the garrison on the trade planet was Ran Haotian, a scion of a prominent family from another planet in the Silver Fox Galaxy. When the Myriad Gods Alliance had subdued the Ran family, it had considered their strength fairly impressive. Thus, as a special favor to the family, it had arranged for Ran Haotian to guard the trade planet.
The trade planet was one of Ye Liuyun’s footholds in the Silver Fox Galaxy. Trade was frequent there and resources were abundant; it could be said to be the most prosperous planet in the Silver Fox Galaxy, even more important than the Myriad Gods Alliance’s headquarters.
At first, the Ran family had developed obediently enough. But in recent years, with much of the alliance’s army sent out to explore, the Ran family had become a major power among the martial cultivators who remained.
As the Ran family grew stronger, it arranged for members of the clan to take control of considerable military authority. They often defied the alliance’s orders, but generally did not go too far, so the alliance turned a blind eye.
Balo was only responsible for managing the trade planet and the merchant guild, and had no authority over the garrison. Thus, on this trade planet, Ran Haotian could be said to be someone no one dared to control.
The Ran family knew that the merchant guild here was profitable and had always wanted to meddle in its trade operations. Over the past two years, taking advantage of the family’s growing strength, they had begun secretly moving against the trade planet, hoping to force Balo out.
They believed that Ye Liuyun did not return often and would not bother with such a minor matter. In their view, it should make no difference to Ye Liuyun who managed the merchant guild, as long as its income did not decrease.
They did not know that Ye Liuyun’s merchant guild was not limited to this one trade planet, but spread throughout the various galaxies. Nor was the decision to replace its manager something a single aristocratic family could make.
Especially this trade planet and Balo. It had already become the Lingyun Merchant Guild’s largest trade hub. The entire planet had been built up by Ye Liuyun himself—how could he possibly let a single family have the final say?
At present, Balo could do nothing but put up with Ran Haotian’s blockade. Ran Haotian merely claimed that it was for security reasons and that such matters fell under his authority, beyond Balo’s jurisdiction.
Fortunately, there were teleportation arrays here, so trade from all over had not been greatly affected. Ran Haotian had also taken no further excessive actions. Thus, Balo had not informed Ye Liuyun, instead doing his best to have the Myriad Gods Alliance mediate while barely keeping the trade planet running.
When senior figures such as Li Yuanlang, Mo Shaowen, and Liu Kui had still been here, Ran Haotian had been more restrained. Now that those powerful figures had gone out adventuring or led troops into battle, he had begun to act with impunity, tightening the blockade of the trade planet even further.
Although the soldiers knew that this was Ye Liuyun’s territory, they did not understand the situation and genuinely believed that the blockade was for security reasons. Moreover, they were all new recruits who knew little about Ye Liuyun and recognized only Ran Haotian’s orders.
Unaware of the situation, Ye Liuyun naturally went straight to find Balo when he arrived at the trade planet. And even if he had known, he still would not have paid any attention to a prominent family.
He had already annihilated quite a few galaxies. A single prominent family could not possibly affect any decision Ye Liuyun made.
When Balo saw that Ye Liuyun had returned, and that the women who managed the merchant guild, including Xuanyuan Ling, were there as well, he was beside himself with excitement. After all, he had not seen them in many years. He immediately set aside what he was doing, welcomed them into the City Lord’s Residence, and arranged a reception for them.
The City Lord’s Residence here had always been kept for Ye Liuyun. It was usually empty, with only a few guards and maids assigned to watch over it, but now it became lively all at once.
At first, Ye Liuyun and Balo merely reminisced and marveled at how the trade planet had changed.
The trade planet was now fully inhabited, and even the Myriad Gods Alliance had a station here. Law and order were also excellent. Seeing the thriving scene, Ye Liuyun sighed with emotion, acknowledging that it was all thanks to Balo.
Balo modestly said that it was all because Ye Liuyun had laid a solid foundation. In truth, he had not needed to worry about the construction here at all; the people who came had maintained it of their own accord.
As they chatted, Ye Liuyun noticed that the garrison was heading toward them.
Only then did he bring up the garrison here and the blockade of the planet with Balo.
“Isn’t it because the Ran family is jealous of the money we’re making and wants to take control of this place for themselves?” Balo gave Ye Liuyun a brief explanation.
Before they could discuss it in greater detail, Ran Haotian led his troops to surround the City Lord’s Residence. He even gave Balo a deadline to hand everyone over, threatening to send men into the residence otherwise. His arrogance was truly astonishing.
In fact, once Ran Haotian learned that some women had dared to strike his soldiers and that Balo had welcomed them into the City Lord’s Residence, he had already guessed that Ye Liuyun’s people had returned.
However, the soldiers had not seen Ye Liuyun, and the commander who had previously undergone a soul search had not described the matter very clearly. He had not dared report that Ye Liuyun had ordered Vermilion Bird to search his soul.
Thus, Ran Haotian merely assumed that Xuanyuan Ling and the other women who managed the merchant guild had returned.
He believed that even if these women were at a high cultivation level, they would not dare clash head-on with a large army. He could take this opportunity to accuse Xuanyuan Ling and the others of injuring soldiers and obstructing military affairs, forcing them to relinquish the trade planet.
The Ran family now wielded considerable influence within the alliance. Even the alliance had to give them some leeway, so they were not worried that it would step in to stop them.
The alliance’s attitude toward the Ran family did indeed mean that it would not intervene. They all knew that no one who provoked Ye Liuyun ever met a good end. The alliance would have difficulty dealing with the Ran family, whereas Ye Liuyun would find it easy. So they were all waiting to see when Ye Liuyun would find the time to deal with the Ran family.
And Ran Haotian was truly fearless through ignorance, actually daring to come straight to Ye Liuyun’s door and cause trouble.
Balo was also waiting for Ye Liuyun to decide how to handle the matter.
But when Ye Liuyun saw Ran Haotian’s arrogant attitude, he immediately realized that, since he had been away for so long, some people needed to be taught a lesson.
He coldly transmitted his voice outside: “You truly have some nerve! You dare surround my, Ye Liuyun’s, City Lord’s Residence? You’re only a minor commander!
Lei Ming, take your people and kill them all. Wipe out the garrison camp here. From now on, this trade planet has no need for the alliance to station troops here!”
Qiong Qi, search Ran Haotian’s soul and see whether this Ran family has grown tired of living!”
He transmitted these words across the entire planet. Now, everyone on the planet knew that Ye Liuyun had returned.
