Ye Liuyun sighed as well. He planned to wait for them to come over and ask whether the martial cultivators here had any special methods of body refinement.

The weapons in the hands of the local martial cultivators were all ordinary iron weapons as well. It seemed that their artifact-refining skills were not particularly advanced either.

After they hurried over, they too kept sizing up Ye Liuyun and the others.

“You’re Evil Creature? What are you doing here? There aren’t any resources here that you could possibly be interested in!”

A middle-aged man who appeared to be the group’s leader also began speaking with Ye Liuyun and the others.

“We mean no harm. We were just passing through, but we got tired after traveling by flying boat, so we came down to rest and stretch our legs!” Ye Liuyun explained.

When Lei Ming and the other demon beasts saw that these people were not very powerful, they lost all interest in attacking.

They spread out their divine senses and discovered that there truly were no worthwhile resources here. In places where spiritual energy was scarce, even ferocious beasts were few, and those that did exist were all at low cultivation levels. That made them even less interested.

“You’re not here to seize our resources?” the middle-aged man asked in confusion when he saw that Ye Liuyun and the others had no intention of attacking.

Ye Liuyun smiled and asked in return, “Just as you said, there aren’t any resources here. What would there be to seize?”

The middle-aged man believed him. He planted the spear in his hand into the ground and introduced himself to Ye Liuyun. “My name is Yao Meng. I’m the captain of the Yao Tribe’s warriors. If you’re not here to seize our resources, then our tribe welcomes you, and we’d be happy to trade with you!”

Ye Liuyun cupped his fists. “My name is Ye Liuyun. We truly aren’t here to seize resources, but what kind of trade did you have in mind?”

He couldn’t see what resources these martial cultivators possessed that could be traded with them.

“It’s good that you’re not here to seize our resources. Come to our tribe for some wine, and we can sit down and talk! We can trade our body-refinement techniques for methods of forging weapons, or trade ores for beast meat or divine crystals.” Yao Meng gestured for Ye Liuyun and the others to follow him.

“All right, then. We’ll go take a look!”

When Ye Liuyun heard them mention cultivation techniques, he felt that it would be worth going to have a look.

Thus, the entire group followed Yao Meng and the local martial cultivators back to the Yao Tribe.

However, the local martial cultivators walked back at a leisurely pace instead of flying.

Yao Meng also explained to Ye Liuyun and the others, “The spiritual energy here is thin, so we avoid using true essence whenever possible.”

“Then how do you cultivate?” Ye Liuyun began chatting with Yao Meng.

“The martial cultivators here all focus on body refinement. Very few people specifically cultivate true essence,” Yao Meng replied.

“Can body refinement alone stop Evil Creature from plundering your resources?” Lei Ming asked curiously, joining the conversation.

Yao Meng gave him a mysterious smile. “Don’t underestimate our body-refinement arts. Our actual combat strength is by no means weak!”

Lei Ming remained skeptical. He wanted to test it for himself, but was afraid of ruining the friendly atmosphere between the two sides, so he could only hold back for the time being.

Ye Liuyun also examined Yao Meng with his Golden Eyes and discovered that his physical body was indeed quite strong, though it might not be as exaggerated as he claimed.

Still, he did not contradict him. He merely chatted casually with Yao Meng, asking what other resources they might have available for trade.

Yao Meng’s explanation was rather simple, however. He only mentioned several foods that aided body refinement and some relatively high-grade ores. They did not sound particularly noteworthy, and he merely said that Ye Liuyun and the others could take a look after they reached the tribe.

Ye Liuyun did not mind. He treated it as a chance to see something interesting and get some rest.

The tribe chief, Yao Tianling, was also quite warm and hospitable. He received Ye Liuyun and the others and even brought out half a savage bull to have someone roast.

“I hope you won’t think this is too little. We don’t have many food resources here to begin with! But we do have a kind of glutinous rice and some home-brewed wine, and there’s definitely enough of those to go around!”

The chief was worried that Ye Liuyun and the others might misunderstand. Half a savage bull was something they normally only brought out to eat during major festivals.

Ye Liuyun knew that the chief was probably not lying. There truly were not many ferocious beasts on this planet. Thus, he repeatedly thanked the chief and even took out several ferocious beasts to share with the tribespeople.

He had stored quite a few ferocious beasts in his spatial world. There was still plenty of beast meat left from what he had accumulated in the Blood-Burning Star System.

Seeing that the people here were not very powerful, he took out ferocious beasts of relatively low cultivation as well—all of them early-stage Unity-realm beasts.

Yet even ferocious beasts of such a low realm caused the tribespeople to gather around and gawk.

“This is far too valuable! Now that you’ve come to our tribe, how could we let you provide such precious food?” Yao Tianling repeatedly waved his hands and refused.

“It’s all right. Since we’ve met, it means we’re fated to do so. Roast them all and let everyone have a taste!” Ye Liuyun said generously.

Only then did Yao Tianling order his people to roast them. While they waited for the meat to cook, Yao Tianling had someone bring out some special foods as well.

One was a medicinal herb that was crimson from root to tip, while the other was a golden-yellow spirit fruit. Yao Meng had mentioned both of them on the way. They were cultivated by the tribe themselves and had special effects on body refinement.

Ye Liuyun picked up the crimson medicinal herb and took a bite. He immediately discovered that once the herb was absorbed, its effects all went into the physical body, making him feel as though his body were burning. The sensation differed from being burned by fire, yet it could burn away the impurities within the body and improve its quality.

Even Ye Liuyun had not expected such an effect. He widened his eyes in shock, then immediately picked up the golden-yellow spirit fruit and took a bite.

The spirit fruit was absorbed even more quickly. An aura with metallic properties instantly spread throughout his body and was absorbed by his flesh.

“What are these things? Their effects on body refinement are incredible!” Ye Liuyun couldn’t help asking.

“Haha, we cultivated them ourselves through trial and error!” The chief couldn’t help laughing when he saw Ye Liuyun’s astonished expression.

“We call the red one Scarlet-Burning Grass. It’s specifically used to burn away impurities within the body and improve its quality. The golden one is called the Vajra Fruit, and it’s used to increase the body’s hardness!”

As Yao Tianling spoke, he handed Ye Liuyun a wineskin. “You should also try our home-brewed wine! We add a special local water to it.”

Ye Liuyun immediately took a gulp and savored it carefully. The wine was probably brewed from the glutinous rice they cultivated, and it had a distinctive rice fragrance.

Most importantly, the water used to brew the wine actually helped the physical body integrate more tightly. Ye Liuyun could also vaguely sense that it helped him absorb the Scarlet-Burning Grass and Vajra Fruit he had just eaten.
