Chapter 1078: Chapter 732: Invincible

...

Suddenly, a bolt of deep-blue lightning tore open the clouds, so swift it made the heart quail.

The two Chu clan Cultivators flying at the rear of the formation had no time to evade and were ruthlessly struck by the lightning.

With a muffled groan, the Protective Spirit Light around them shattered at once, and their figures fell straight down like kites with broken strings.

"Awooo!"

On the ground, the Silver Wind Wolf King, long lying in wait, leapt up, seized one of the corpses in its jaws, its sharp teeth closing with an unending "crack" sound.

The other corpse was drowned beneath the surging wolf pack; in the blink of an eye they tore it apart and devoured it, leaving only a few torn scraps of cloth.

The Chu clan Cultivators’ eyes all burned red, pain searing their chests, yet not a single one turned back.

They turned grief and rage into Spiritual Power, madly urging the Escape Light beneath their feet, rushing forward at full speed.

Right on its heels, another bolt of lightning crashed down in succession.

The three Chu clan Cultivators to the rear were instantly swallowed by the arcs of lightning, their Protective Magical Treasures shattering like paper.

They did not even have the chance to fall to the ground before diving Demon Birds swooped down, snatching them out of the air, beaks and claws working in tandem to rip them apart and devour them on the spot.

The sky was filled with exploding blood-mist and short, shrill screams of agony.

True Master Minghua’s expression changed drastically.

The last trace of wishful hope was crushed.

His beard and hair flared out; his voice rang like metal on stone as he cried with iron resolve, "Chu clan sons, follow this old man and face the enemy!"

As his words fell, True Master Minghua seized the Spiritual Boat with both hands and shoved it forward with all his strength.

The Flying Ship abruptly accelerated, bearing Chu Yuehua and her sisters and the Immortal Seeds, racing toward the distance.

He himself whirled around, turning against the flow of people, facing head-on the Demon Bird flock that blotted out the sky.

Just then, yet another bolt of lightning cleaved down from midair, aiming straight at the Flying Escape Chu Clan Members.

"Beast!"

True Master Minghua shouted in fury, raising a hand to sacrifice an ancient, simple Copper Mirror; it swelled in the wind, transforming into a blazing disc of light that barely managed to block above the clan members’ heads.

"Boom—boom—boom!"

Amid deafening thunder, Spiritual Light on the Copper Mirror flared wildly.

Across the mirror’s surface, a fine crack spread open.

Though the lightning was blocked, its Spiritual Nature was gravely damaged, and it wavered on the brink of collapse.

"So this is all the Human Race’s True Pill amounts to!"

The Three-Eyed Thunder Roc Demon King spat out human speech, its voice shrill and dripping with contempt.

It circled high above; from the vertical eye on its brow, lightning mist billowed, its ferocious might towering to the heavens.

True Master Minghua stood suspended in midair, his robes whipping violently in the turbulent airflow.

Behind him, the mere twenty-odd remaining Chu clan Cultivators silently gathered together, each face solemn, each gaze resolved.

There was no fear, only the iron will to die with their clan.

The final moment was about to arrive.

"Fiendspawn! Cease your arrogance!"

True Master Minghua’s beard and hair flared as he poured all the Spiritual Power he had left madly into the Treasure Mirror.

From the cracked places along the mirror’s body, light flared blindingly; a beam of Supreme Yang and Firm, dazzling, blazing sunfire erupted, almost tangible, carrying incinerating heat that could burn all things, tearing through the air as it shot straight at the Three-Eyed Thunder Roc Demon King.

"Behold my Hao Yang Mirror!"

"Petty tricks."

The Thunder Roc Demon King sneered, neither dodging nor evading, stretching out a Sharp Claw covered in azure scales; billowing waves of misty green Demon Qi surged like a tide as it reached to seize that beam head-on.

"Ssshh!"

The sunfire radiance and the demon claw collided with brutal force.

The Supreme Yang and Firm light pillar was snapped and crushed from the middle by that misty green demon claw!

Sparks scattered and were annihilated.

The Demon Body of the Thunder Roc Demon King merely swayed slightly; not a single feather fell.

True Master Minghua’s heart sank, a chill piercing to the bone.

Though he had braced himself, the Thunder Roc Demon King’s ferocity still exceeded his imagination by far.

No wonder the Bright Flame Sect, a power that had long dominated a region, was wiped out by such Demon Race hands.

True Master Minghua drew in a deep breath, his gaze passing over the familiar faces behind him, over the Flying Ship in the distance that had shrunk to a black speck; suddenly, his heart grew calm.

He began to chant, his voice desolate and deep.

"The setting sun bathes in blood to guard our rivers and mountains; a lone sword spans the heavens, bones as its lamps."

The Chu clan Cultivators all gave a start; then, their expressions turned solemn as they joined their voices in unison.

"Our loyal hearts lie uncooled beneath desolate mounds; a single spark of passing flame we entrust to Yuehua!"

"A single spark of passing flame we entrust to Yuehua!"

Their voices shook the wilds, every word stained with blood and tears.

True Master Minghua’s aura began growing violent.

At this moment, he conceived the resolve to die, intending to self-detonate his True Pill, to wrest a faint thread of life for the Flying Ship that bore their final hope.

The remaining Chu clan Cultivators all surged their Spiritual Power, faces flushing red as they prepared for a battle to the death.

With bodies of Foundation Establishment, in such a desperate peril, they could only fill the gap with their lives.

If they could delay a single breath, it would be a single breath.

There was absolutely no chance of surviving by luck.
