Chapter 324: Solomon’s Target [Bonus Chapter GT]

Solomon stayed perfectly still, pretending to be asleep with his back facing the entrance. He could hear their boots clicking against the metal floor as they walked closer. Then, they suddenly stopped and made no sound for a solid minute.

Solomon felt a surge of excitement, wondering exactly what kind of brutal tactics they were planning to use. They could do whatever they wanted to him, and he wouldn’t mind in the slightest, because this was exactly what he wanted. He had intentionally gotten himself arrested to draw out the corrupt bastards who were in cahoots with The BlueYorker’s Shield.

There was absolutely no way a corporate guild got away with orchestrating a dungeon tragedy scandal that resulted in two hundred deaths after being sued and taken to a federal court without inside help. Countless official investigations, evidence gathering, and legal procedures would have been conducted before the court officially declared their verdict. And that verdict had announced the guild was innocent.

Solomon already had the names of every single official involved in that cover-up. Twelve jurors, one presiding judge, one lead prosecutor, one defense attorney, one plaintiff’s attorney, the defendant’s legal team, three key witnesses, and seven primary investigating officers.

Every single one of them had been bought and paid for. They were all on the same side, simply pretending to execute a fair, legal procedure.

It was a completely rigged trial from the very beginning.

Solomon was here specifically to deal with the investigating officers. And it seemed they had finally walked right into his cell.

A few more minutes passed, but the three men still didn’t do anything. They didn’t even speak.

’Should I stop pretending to be asleep and just do something instead?’ Solomon asked himself, growing impatient.

He rolled over onto his other side, still pretending to be asleep, and cracked his eyes open slightly to see what they were doing.

The three men were simply standing there in the middle of the cell, perfectly still, looking exactly like a trio of statues.

Solomon was utterly confused. ’What the fuck are they doing? Do they have some kind of bizarre innate talent that requires them to stand perfectly still before attacking?’

He knew that if he suddenly sat up now, they would immediately realize he had been faking his sleep the entire time. But he quickly decided he didn’t care. He opened his eyes fully and sat up on the floor.

Standing directly in front of him were three high-ranking police officers. In the middle stood Kurt, the Chief of District Seven, who had also served as the lead investigator in the dungeon tragedy case three years ago. All three of them were on Solomon’s target list.

Kurt smiled widely, a creepy, unsettling grin stretching across his face. "Good evening, terrorist."

Solomon didn’t say a single word in return. He simply stared at the corrupt chief.

"Do you know why I am here?" Kurt asked, his grin widening.

Solomon let out an exhausted sigh. "Is every single person working in this place a complete dumbfuck who just assumes the other person magically knows everything about their hidden intentions? Why would I possibly know why you are standing in my cell staring at me like a creep? If you have something to say, just say it instead of playing these stupid guessing games."

Kurt’s creepy smile vanished instantly. He frowned deeply and aggressively released his aura, projecting a suffocating pressure across the small cell.

The other two officers immediately stepped forward, grabbing Kurt’s shoulders and whispering frantically into his ear. Whatever they said managed to calm the chief down slightly. He reeled his aura back in and straightened his uniform.

Kurt tried to act composed. "I am Chief Kurt. These are my deputies, Officer Miller and Officer Davis. I am the commanding chief of District Seven, the same district you viciously attacked today, and the district you are currently arrested for terrorizing."

Solomon offered a sarcastic, mocking smile. "I did not know that local street cops had suddenly gained the authority to pass legal judgments and decide who is a culprit without a proper trial. Maybe you guys just work so incredibly well with the corrupt judges that they let you know the final outcome of a trial before the jury even sits down."

Solomon scoffed, leaning back against the metal wall. "Although, it is pretty funny that you are calling me a terrorist when you have yet to provide a single shred of evidence proving that I am the culprit."

The blatant, pinpoint comment about being in cahoots with corrupt judges completely pissed Kurt off. He instantly lost his composure and released his aura again. This time, the pressure was so intense that even his two deputy officers couldn’t stop him or step near him, forced to back away toward the cell door.

However, Solomon remained completely and utterly unaffected by the crushing pressure. He looked up at the glowing chief and tilted his head. "Is your talent just highlighting yourself with a glowing aura? Because that is a pretty useless trick. Do you get invited to parties for that?"

Kurt snarled. He stepped closer, reached down, and violently grabbed Solomon by the throat, lifting him slightly off the floor. He glared directly into the teenager’s silver eyes.

"Listen to me, you arrogant little shit," Kurt hissed, his voice dripping with venom. "I can snap your neck and kill you right here in this cell, and nobody would bat an eye. Nobody would care, nobody would investigate it, and absolutely nothing would happen to me."

Solomon stared right back into the chief’s eyes, completely unfazed by the choking grip. "Does that rule only work for dirty cops, or can I do the exact same thing to you?"

Kurt’s blazing aura flickered for a fraction of a second. The chilling realization hit him like a physical blow. The teenager had just casually implied that he could easily end all three of their lives right there in the cell if he wanted to.

Kurt slowly let go of Solomon’s neck, taking a cautious step back. "I originally came down here to give you a generous offer. But now, I do not feel like it. I will make sure that you rot in this facility for the rest of your miserable life. You will never see the outside world again."

Solomon let out a loud, mocking laugh. "Let me guess. Was your generous offer something pathetic like, ’Join my side, work for me as an attack dog, and I will make sure you go free’?"

Kurt’s eyes widened in genuine shock. The boy had guessed his exact, corrupt proposition flawlessly.

"I would have rejected your offer anyway," Solomon added, grinning deviously. "So fuck off. And don’t forget to close the door on your way back."

Kurt was pissed beyond belief, but he realized he couldn’t actually do anything to the boy without risking his own life, despite his earlier arrogant claims of immunity. He spun on his heel and stormed out of the cell, his two deputy officers hurrying out right behind him.

The steel door slammed shut, and the locks engaged with a loud clank.

Solomon smirked, rubbing his neck where the chief had grabbed him. ’I could have easily killed all three of them right here in this cell,’ he thought to himself, pacing the small room. ’But if I killed them now, the prison would go into lockdown, and I wouldn’t be able to kill the rest of the targets on my list. I have to make sure they take me to a trial. Once they gather all those corrupt bastards in one single courtroom to sentence me... I can kill all of them at once. What happens after... is...’

He let out a sigh and sat down.
