Chapter 61: Tournament Announcement

Tyler and his girlfriend’s lives seemed to be flying by. They continued their rotation and each session with each girl continued to get more steamy. They made sure to have their joint get togethers with friends every Wednesday and guys/girls night every Thursday.

The girls found ways to sneak alone time with Tyler. They openly talked about their sex lives and Tyler noticed, which made him happy. They were all open and honest with each other and the girls were all close.

It was December and winter break was 2 weeks away. They were all preparing for the tournament announcement later after their last class. If they were selected, they would receive a notification and had to meet in the auditorium.

Amanda finished 4-1 in her placements but won 4 more to reach rank 275. Tyler was now rank 27, Sophie rank 19 and Kass surprised everyone by breaking into the top 50 at 49. No one could touch Nyx, who was still number one.

She was able to have lunch with them due to her free second period. At first, their friends were starstruck but eventually, especially after their hangouts, became friends with her and she was no longer lonely. Sophie, Amanda and Kass encouraged Tyler to take them on dates more frequently, especially Nyx. They were finally beginning to fall for each other on a deeper level.

"Oh my gosh you shouldn’t have Tyler!" Nyxara said as she opened a platinum bracelet with a Ruby gemstone inside the heart. It matched the other girl’s bracelets they always wore.

"I thought it was time you wore one if you wanted too. I care about you a lot and you’re such a big help. I can even use some Qi now!"

"Stop, that was all you!" Sophie smiled. "We just gave you the push you needed."

"She’s right, mister!" Amanda smiled.

"I don’t know, I think you three are the reason Tyler and I can use it. You helped significantly," Kass said with a laugh. "The bracelet looks great on you Nyxara. You’ve been a wonderful addition and who knew the lonely dueler was such a polite sweetheart."

Nyx blushed, which became a more frequent occurrence. It turned out she was also pretty funny when she wasn’t being serious.

"It seems things are going well for everyone! I think I’m almost ready to evolve again Tyler," Ash chirped proudly.

"You want to head to the realm?"

"No need. I think you’re one level away and I should be good. You’re level 59 now right?"

"Yup. System read my stats."

"Smart choice adding them to mana. You’re getting drained much less frequently," Ritsu smiled.

"That’s all Nyx. Her inspect is insane."

It was true. Nyxara knew the stats of every student she dueled and anyone she walked by. Tyler learned about her other vampiric arts. She could charm almost as well as Vivian, use blood arts on a level that made Adam look pedestrian, which was insane. She could teleport, requip, use every element of magic, had tanky stats like a paladin and a black belt in every martial art Qi mastered. She also added 5 new reequips.

"Hey Nyx, what’s the Prestige like anyway? Tyler asked curiously.

"It’s fun! There’s a series of different events. Last year Fantasy University hosted it and had solo and duo dueling, a target contest, support user contest where the strongest debuff on a beast won, a taming challenge, and a few others. We won and we should this year too!"

"Do you know what they’re doing with the forest of unknowns? We have 15% of it explored now." Sophie whispered.

"No, sorry. Dad wouldn’t budge. He’s big on rules. He appreciated the invite to the dinner date though. It was nice to meet Sophie and Kass’ parents. Amanda I’m so sorry your parents refused to come."

Amanda smiled. "It’s ok. You’re the only family I need!"

Everyone smiled. It had only been 3 months but they spent every day and night together as well as lived together. They slept in the same bed 3 nights a week and did everything together.

Tyler kissed everyone goodbye, except for Sophie, who shared the next class. The day finally came to an end and Adam looked down at his phone in disappointment while Tyler’s buzzed.

"Maybe you’ll be an alternate?" Tyler patted him on the back. "You climbed up to rank 500 bro you shouldn’t be disappointed with yourself."

"I know but I’ll be rooting you on with Cecelia! We finally slept together bro!"

Tyler hugged him. "Good for you two bro. I’m happy for you. I’m glad things are going well. I gotta head to the auditorium, man sorry."

"Don’t be sorry bro. It’s ok. Catch ya next week!"

Tyler noticed his phone buzzed a lot and checked his group chat and smiled. All the girls were waiting for him in the auditorium. They saved him a seat in the middle. Sophie and Nyxara sat next to him with Kass to Sophie’s left and Amanda to Nyx’s right.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen. We are here to announce the dueling selections and duo teams. We also will reveal the forest challenge teams. In addition, we will have the support challenge, a tech challenge, a taming event, a Qi based secret challenge, obstacle course and several other secret challenges," Dean Pritchett announced.

"Thank you dean," Professor Fairfox, the third year dueling professor said over the microphone.

"For duo duels, we went a unique route this year. Rather than pairing the top 2, Nyxara Atwood will be participating in solo and duos, as well as her partner, Tyler Rask.

"No way!" Tyler exclaimed excitedly.

"Sophie Grace will participate in both and her partner will be Amanda LaFleur."

"Hell yeah!" Sophie and Amanda said.

"The last first year participating will be Kass Whitmore in solo duels."

The group celebrated with hugs and everyone kissed Tyler, ignoring the rest of the dueling team announcements.

"Nyx, did you influence this?" Tyler smirked.

"Maybe a little," she winked. "I paired everyone based on who worked well together. After hearing Sophie and Amanda’s story, I thought it would be silly to have Sophie and I fight together. That would leave Amanda with Tyler and they’re both more support based. Kass is a solo force to be reckoned with."

"Shhh," Sophie said.

"For the forest of unknowns, you will be grouped into teams of 5. Each school will have four teams."

They saw Tyler smirking. He had a feeling they would be selected and he was right. They didn’t announce the details of the event, but he and his girlfriends were one of the four teams.

Amanda was one of the alternates for the support challenge, Nyx and Sophie were in the target challenge and Tyler was bummed he wasn’t selected for taming.

"You’re not a tamer sweetheart," Nyxara said with a kiss. "Forming contracts is different. You don’t need to go off signing a bunch of silver and gold contracts for points."

"She’s right sexy." Kass said after kissing him.

Tyler kissed Sophie and Amanda. "I’m proud of all of you. You created our relationship, got the blessing of Bahamut, convinced Nyxara to date me and join us and we’ve all worked so hard this quarter. I’m bummed Adam didn’t make it but I’m glad Alex did!" Tyler smiled.

"Hey Phoenix douche!" Tyler turned and saw Blake yelling at him.

"What do you want?"

"If you lose with Nyxara, the entire third year class is kicking your ass." He taunted.

"I wouldn’t even lose to you, jackass." Tyler rolled his eyes.

"Leave it Blake," Tim said while pulling him away. "It’s not worth pissing any of them off."

Tyler smirked and turned and walked out with his arms wrapped around his girlfriends after being dismissed.

"I guess we should kick our training up a notch," Tyler said while walking out of the auditorium.

"I agree. We should do practice duels as well. Make sure we have health and mana potions ready. We’re running low." Sophie sighed.

"I got it, don’t worry."

"Yeah but the school jacked the prices up." Amanda complained.

"I guess we should train in the Land of Summoned Monsters and take a few jobs for Esper. Their potions are better anyway." Tyler smirked.

When they got to his room, he opened a portal. He tossed the ladies a food capsule, they ate it and followed him through.

[Warning. You are in hostile beast territory.]

"Be on guard!" Nyx said loudly.

"Lots of angry rogue beasts. Let’s work together and get through them quickly. We need to get to Reza. It’s pretty far. I’m glad we brought potions!" Tyler commanded.

’It’s going to be weird listening to someone else...’ Nyx thought. She was always the captain of her missions.
