The massive warplane pierced through the firmament, tearing through the sky with a howling sound, swiftly passing along the edge of the enormous dark cloud.

Mark lowered his head, glanced at the drone light dot displayed on the monitor, and somewhat surprised, he raised his head to look at He Ao, "How did you know they were disguised mecha pursuers?"

"There are too many people coming. For the consortium, every military maneuver is an expenditure flowing away," He Ao shook his head, "I’m not worth that much."

"Indeed," Mark nodded slightly, speaking with a hint of admiration, "Your understanding of the consortium far exceeds ours."

He Ao looked at him without speaking, then hoarsely said, "Follow this road, continue accelerating forward."

"Okay," Mark nodded, he lifted his gaze, looked around, and said with a bit of wonder, "But it’s really strange this time, we flew so high and nothing happened. I remember that according to the data, there should be a sky beast in this high-altitude area, yet it didn’t appear this time."

"If it didn’t appear, we should hurry up and run," He Ao glanced back behind them, then nodded slightly, quickly said.

"Okay." Mark nodded and continued to increase output, further accelerating the plane.

And as this streak of light flew past above the clouds, amid the warplane behind them, two bright red glows lit up in the massive cloud blocking out the sky and sun.

Then, a pair of enormous wings unfolded from the clouds, shrouding half the firmament.

It seemed to be a gigantic flying exotic beast; the bright red glow was precisely this beast’s eyes.

The pupils gazed at the departing warplane, seeming to confirm whether the warplane had completely left.

Once the warplane’s state left as just a tiny dot, it retracted its posture, transforming back into inky dark clouds, flying away in the opposite direction of the warplane, concealing within the firmament.

——

A series of glowing mechas whizzed through the dense mountain forests.

Gah——

Piercing screeches rang out under the sky, groups of inky shadows continuously flew out from the forests, attacking the mechas flying almost at ground level.

Dazzling lasers continuously flashed in the forests, striking those shadows, quickly scorching them into clusters of inky corpses.

As time went by, the shadows increased in number, almost clinging around the mechas like maggots on a bone.

"Vice-Captain, the exotic beasts around us are increasing," appearing on the screen was the young officer in the leading mecha, he looked at the middle-aged man in the control room, quickly said, "Should we initiate a fire counterattack?"

"No need," the middle-aged officer lowered his head as if contemplating something, "I explored this area with drones earlier; this section is the only one with exotic beasts, just a bit further and you’ve left the airspace of these exotic beasts."

Then he slightly lifted his head, looking at the young officer, "Still no new intelligence has arrived?"

"No," the young officer shook his head, "We’ve been progressing at full speed, and the other side should be pursuing along the normal route now, as you know, our distance is increasing."

He looked at the middle-aged officer and asked in a low voice, "Do you have any concerns? The intelligence we can transmit now only includes things like pursuit progress. Once we break through this exotic beast area, we’ll soon reach the target point. We can set a trap then, just waiting for the target to walk into it."

"What if the target doesn’t walk into the trap?" the middle-aged officer said in a low voice.

He raised his wrist, glanced at the time on his wristband, placed his fingers on the control panel, and looked at the oppressive dark night through the viewport, "Sometimes, no news is the worst news."

After a brief pause, he quickly said, "Relay my order: everyone, turn back immediately, return."

"Return now? What if we miss the enemy..." The young officer was somewhat puzzled.

"The enemy may not follow the route we imagined," the middle-aged officer quickly responded, "Relay my order, return!"

The young officer hesitated for a moment but nodded, "Yes!"

——

The giant warplane descended from the clouds, quickly breaking through the mist, revealing the chaotic lights on the ground.

"This is..." Mark lowered his head, looking at the glow displayed on the monitor, faintly, he could see the large frames in the blurry glow, generally temporary maintenance frames for large mechas.

In that instant, Mark realized where they were, his eyes widened slightly, "Is this the mercenary base? How did you know their base was here?"

"Following the direction those warplanes came from, finding this place is normal." He Ao casually said.

He left the city suddenly, and even he couldn’t determine the time of departure.

The mercenary corps must have been caught off guard too; in such circumstances, it’s difficult to quickly set up concealment of their base, they could only follow in the direction.

At this point, following the direction, plus radar scanning, it’s easy to find their base.

"You’re truly prescient," Mark looked at He Ao carefully, then, a bit cautiously, asked, "Do you intend to assault their base?"

"Drones, mechas, in their pursuit of us, they must have dispatched the majority of their combat power," He Ao smiled shaking his head, "There won’t be many left behind."

"But it’s still a mercenary base, just the two of us?" Mark asked somewhat reservedly, "We don’t have bombs on our plane, we can’t cause significant ground damage."

"It’s not the two of us," He Ao looked at him and shook his head, "It’s just me."

He turned around, went toward the passenger cabin at the back, "Is my flight armor still in this passenger cabin?"

"It is," Mark nodded, "I saw it when I checked just now,"

He looked at He Ao, knowing that ’Bod’ was a powerful Transcendent, but he was still a little nervous; he hung the flight system on autopilot, turned his head, watching He Ao open the cargo door, "Mr. Bod, I don’t know when their main force will return, if they appear soon, maybe we should first launch a wave of missiles from the sky, bomb the area below, and then move? This way we can still retreat at any moment in case of problems."

"That would be too late." He Ao smiled, shook his head, and opened the box containing the mecha.

Click click click——

Accompanied by a rapid sequence of assembling sounds, the mecha parts intricately enveloped his body.

One-button armor.

Previously, Evis’s Spatial System mechas didn’t have this thing; they copied it from the Nolanka Group, didn’t they?

He Ao shook his head, extended his hand, first linked the wristband to the mecha, then walked to the parachute door at the back and opened it.

The howling wind instantly blew into the cabin.

Beep——

The mecha emitted a crisp sound, and He Ao directly leaped down.

The howling wind carried a sharp noise past his ears; the brilliant mecha lights lit up in the darkness, then quickly extinguished.

The data frame in He Ao’s eyes quickly blacked out too, only the howling wind in his ears and the intense falling sensation reminded him that he was rapidly descending.

This wasn’t He Ao going into stealth mode; it was because the mecha system had crashed.

Someone had previously injected a virus into this mecha’s system remotely, causing it to crash upon activation.

They had prepared quite thoroughly.

In the next instant, the pitch-black screen in He Ao’s eyes suddenly lit up, and a little girl in a white dress crawled out from the bottom of the screen frame, reaching out to place windows into He Ao’s field of view.

Then the little girl waved at He Ao, greeted him, and like He Ao, did a free fall back outside the screen.

He Ao smiled and directly activated the Mecha.

Brilliant light ignited in an instant in the darkness.

It didn’t matter if the operating system crashed, since he had his own artificial intelligence, which was far more reliable than the Evis Spatial System’s operating system.

In the next instant, the lights around him were swiftly shut off, and he did a slide jump, leveraging the bright lights in the camp, and landed in that brightly lit camp.

Beep——

A piercing alarm sounded instantly in the camp.

——

The Mecha, adorned with some exotic beast feathers, quickly traversed the hills.

The middle-aged officer looked at the map in his field of view, and the young officer appeared on the screen in front of him, "Vice Captain, if they didn’t take that route, we wouldn’t find where they went if we go back now."

"We will find them." The middle-aged officer shook his head slightly.

At that moment, the Mecha broke through the hills and reached a wide plain.

They had returned to the originally wide commercial route.

"So, where do we go now?" The young officer seemed a bit impatient, his tone slightly raised, and he quickly said, "I think you’re overreacting. If Bod and the others took the old route, wouldn’t the accolades slip through your fingers?"

"I’m the Commander here, not you." The middle-aged officer said in a deep voice.

The young officer was slightly taken aback, raising his eyebrows, and glanced at the middle-aged officer, "So, esteemed Vice Captain Es, which route should we take? Do you know where our enemies have gone now?"

Es lowered his head, raised his wristwatch, glanced at the time on the watch, and then turned his head to look at the young officer, "Did you receive any information from the drones?"

"Drones, what drones?" The young officer was slightly perplexed, "We’re back now. Where would the drones report from? Those pursuing drones are still ahead. Any intelligence would take a while to come back."

"So no drones have come back." Es slightly furrowed his brows, raised his gaze, looking at the mountain forest outside the window, seemingly falling into a brief confusion.

But soon, he suddenly realized something, "Not good, go back!"

——

Mercenary Corps Encampment

Scattered electric sparks illuminated the night, and soldiers in mercenary uniforms lay scattered on the ground. He Ao stepped forward, crossing a collapsed flashing signal tower, heading towards the center, to the temporary tent that looked like a command post.

"Quite frugal." He Ao raised his head, glanced at the somewhat loose tent.

This tent was too cheap for a mercenary corps officer to enjoy, especially with the overlapping triangle emblem imprinted on it, which was the mark of the Evis Spatial System.

The Evis Spatial System had a bunch of rapid deployment command post products.

He Ao lifted the tent flap and looked inside.

A few young soldiers were standing inside the tent, looking at He Ao, holding guns in their hands.

They seemed a bit nervous and panicked, appearing to be new soldiers.

He Ao glanced at them and calmly said, "If you don’t shoot, I won’t shoot either."

Saying that, he directly moved forward, walking towards the computer in the command post.

Hearing this, the soldiers were slightly stunned. They nervously gripped their handguns, seemingly a bit skeptical of He Ao’s words, but they didn’t dare pull the trigger and could only watch as He Ao walked to the computer.

Sizzle——

He Ao raised his hand, pulling out a data cable from the Mecha, connecting it to the computer.

The ripping sound of the data cable startled the soldiers, and one almost pulled the trigger, but was quickly stopped by his companion beside him.

They kept their guns pointed at He Ao, gripping the handles tightly but not daring to pull the trigger.

He Ao acted as if he didn’t see them, started the computer, and quietly watched the progress bar on the Mecha’s display.

Shortly, the progress bar reached the end, and the entire system was successfully hacked.

The entire computer’s data densely appeared in He Ao’s field of view.

Soon, Eve retrieved the radar records and surveillance records, performing calculations based on the flight time of the Floating Warplane that captured the daughter, determining the relevant data points.

The radar at this encampment did not detect corresponding Floating Warplane data.

But from the location of this encampment, if the Floating Warplane was headed east, towards Vissen, it would inevitably pass through their alert zone.

Unless they weren’t heading east.

He Ao slightly furrowed his brow.

At this time, some new data was retrieved by Eve.

This data did not come from the radar array of this encampment but from ’drone’ reports.

He Ao opened this data, quickly scanning it, softly musing, "Indeed a meticulous person."

The commander of this Mercenary Corps had placed monitoring drones near all commercial routes and airways connected to Keskein.

These drones formed a complex signal array, where adjacent drones could communicate with each other and relay signals, allowing the encampment to monitor all commercial route and air traffic conditions in the shortest time.

However, this method had a flaw; the drones could easily be attacked by nearby exotic beasts. In fact, some of these drones along the commercial routes had already been destroyed, and maintenance losses would become even more terrifying over time.

Moreover, the ultra-long-distance unlimited broadcast technology used between two drones couldn’t transmit much information, only serving as temporary monitoring.

But this was convenient for He Ao.

Quickly, Eve found the real flight direction of the Floating Warplane from this data—southeast.

Southeast of Keskein was a vast Great Gobi Desert, and beyond the desert, there was only one city.

He Ao quickly brought up the map, glanced at the markings on the map.

Trollon.

Beep——

At this time, He Ao received a communication message within his armor.
