Life Game In Other World
Chapter 1890 - 1889: The Source of Seal Power
"This place seems to match the atmosphere now," Geslo glanced at the light hanging in front of the courtyard gate, his gaze sweeping over the dark rocks overhead, and took a shallow breath.
If He Ao hadn’t warned him earlier, he might have been directly grabbed by the skeletal remains beneath that stone slab.
Although he didn’t know what would happen if he got caught, it probably wouldn’t be anything good.
No wonder the developers didn’t assign anyone to guard here.
If they sent people, those people would probably all become the ’prey’ of those skeletons.
"It seems like we can’t enter through the main entrance," Geslo took a deep breath, his gaze turning to the low wall next to the courtyard gate, "Can we get in from somewhere else?"
He wanted to try another place, but it was hard to guarantee that there were no skeletal hands elsewhere.
"Do you see that small gap in the low wall on the left?" He Ao’s voice sounded in his ear, "You can climb through there."
Hearing He Ao’s words, Geslo breathed a sigh of relief.
With the guidance of this elder, there shouldn’t be any danger.
He quickly walked to the edge of the wall with the gap, reaching out to grab the wall.
At that moment, the surrounding light gradually dimmed, even the bright lamp dimmed.
The darkness seemed to turn into some kind of viscous liquid, blocking the light.
A faint chill permeated the air, along with a hint of decayed bones.
In a blur, Geslo felt as though he wasn’t standing in this ancient city but on a vast wilderness.
Geslo looked forward, noticing some torn security uniforms in his field of view.
Security personnel had once entered this wilderness and then stayed here forever.
Ah—
A certain invisible, clear song resonated at the end of the wilderness.
This was the most enchanting song Geslo had ever heard, like the singing of sirens in legends, luring sailors in the sea.
The sound was crystal clear, piercing the soul.
And as the song echoed, the torn security uniform Geslo was staring at suddenly trembled.
Then, the uniform ’stood’ up.
A white skeleton emerged from the uniform, a terrifying skull stretching out from beneath the collar, the skeleton wobblingly standing up, raising its head to gaze at Geslo.
It shook its head, as if it might drop from the collar at any moment.
In that moment, Geslo suddenly realized that this was the security personnel who perished on the wilderness.
His life vanished on the wilderness, but he gained a form of immortality.
The skeleton clad in the security uniform lifted its head, looking at Geslo, its jaw slightly opening, as if giving Geslo a ’smile’.
Ah~
The soul-penetrating, clear song once again resonated over the wilds.
Then, one after another, bones crawled out from beneath the earth, densely piling together, swaying like the rising and falling tides.
Surging toward Geslo.
Geslo’s body froze for a moment, instinctively wanting to recoil.
"Move forward, climb over that gap." The voice boomed in his ear, awakening his consciousness.
He lifted his head, looking forward into the vast wilderness before him, a wall with a gap faintly visible in the distant.
Seeing the wall, he momentarily couldn’t understand why it existed.
But he still instinctively followed the voice in his mind, taking a step forward, climbing over the wall.
As his body fell from the wall, a violent sense of weightlessness hit him like being pulled out from drowning.
"Hah—"
Geslo struggled to prop himself up from the ground, fine beads of sweat soaked his body, plastered against his cheeks, trickling down his short hair.
Just moments ago, he almost stayed on that wilderness forever.
Upon entering that wilderness, he even forgot who he was and what he was supposed to do.
If not for He Ao waking him up, he might really have stayed there forever.
"This place is a bit too terrifying." He took a deep breath, standing up with some difficulty.
If it were transcendent events and ordinary enemies, he might still find a solution, but with what he’s encountering now, he didn’t even have the possibility to resist.
The existence of these weird events had already exceeded his understanding.
"What exactly is that wilderness?" He trembled, looking around, seeing no trace of the wilderness anymore.
"Judging by the state, it seems to be some sort of a space sandwiched between the Netherworld and reality, formed due to certain reasons, creating a stable space." He Ao’s voice sounded in his ear.
"The Netherworld?" Geslo paused, then softly asked, "Is it the Netherworld I’m thinking of?"
He slowly added, "The world in mythologies where only the dead can go, the world after death?"
"Yes," He Ao replied directly.
Geslo fell silent for a moment, then sighed, "Looks like I’ve gained some insight in my lifetime."
As long as he’s not dead, it’s safe.
This old man’s strength is also a bit beyond standard, how does he know so much about the Netherworld and can identify it without hesitation, just what kind of monster is he?
Geslo took a deep breath, suppressing his fluctuating emotions, lifting his head to look around the courtyard.
The layout of the courtyard was very simple, with what seemed like a wooden deck chair for sunbathing, next to the deck chair a small table, and on either side of the courtyard were stone-paved gardens, which seemed to have been planted with flowers before, with a few dry, fossil-like seeds nearby.
It was clear that the owner of this courtyard was someone who also loved life.
Geslo’s gaze finally focused on the house inside the courtyard.
The house was a row of horizontal buildings, with three windows, seemingly divided into three simple rooms.
A wooden door was open in the middle room, long since decayed, leaving only some broken remains.
The room had no lighting set up and was completely dark, looking in from outside like a deep hollow.
It appeared that the developer also found it difficult to enter this courtyard, or else they wouldn’t have set up lights outside only.
Geslo looked at the pitch-black room, took a deep breath, pulling a mini flashlight from his pocket, and slowly approached.
Soon, he crossed the wooden door and entered the room.
The middle room seemed to be a reception room, with a wide stone table, a long bench, and the bench was covered with animal hide.
The room also seemed to have some wooden furniture, but they were decayed, leaving only some charred remains.
Apart from that, the room’s walls were coated with some special coloured clay, showing a certain elegant color.
"This family seemed really wealthy," Geslo looked at the room’s decoration, looking at the walls coated with colored clay, "Or perhaps some kind of aristocrat in the city."
"Go check the room on the left." He Ao’s voice sounded in his ear.
Geslo turned his body and walked towards the room on the left.
There are still a large number of remnants of decayed wooden furniture here, besides a stone-built shelf.
From the wooden remnants on the surface of this stone shelf, it can be seen that it was once decorated with beautiful wooden panels.
However, the shelf is now empty, and it’s unclear whether the items on it were removed by the developer or whether there was never anything on the shelf.
He Ao’s consciousness also swept over the stone shelf, which originally held various antiques and extraordinary items collected by Denos. When Denos was ready to sleep, not knowing when he would awaken, he gave these things to his family to take away.
"There is still an area inside here." Geslo shone a flashlight into the depths of the room.
Apart from the decayed furniture and stone shelf, this room also has a more spacious empty area.
There is nothing there, or rather, there was something there once, but it was taken away.
Geslo reached the edge of that area and gestured slightly, "It seems like a coffin could fit here. Was the coffin they found taken from this room? But why are there no marks indicating a coffin was placed here?"
He carefully scanned the area with his flashlight.
The floor of this room is made of stone bricks mixed with soil, not some dust-resistant extraordinary items. In principle, if something has been placed here for hundreds of years, there should be obvious outline traces.
But there are no traces in this area.
Finally, Geslo settled on the center of the area.
There was a small rectangular trace there, seemingly formed by something pressed there for a long time, outlining the trace.
The trace was not large, Geslo estimated it to be roughly the size of his palm.
"Was the coffin supported by some special one-legged stand?" He pondered, looking at the trace.
The developer’s information did not mention the size of the coffin, possibly forgotten, or deliberately left out.
This left Geslo with some mental blocks.
"You should go out first," He Ao’s voice sounded in Geslo’s ear, "Go into the yard. No matter what happens, do not come in. Remember, do not touch any wall while walking."
Geslo immediately nodded quickly and said, "Okay, sir."
Then he turned and left.
Although he had not deeply encountered the extraordinary, he knew one thing.
Curiosity is not a good thing; the more you know, the faster you die.
And as he left, a black coffin that had been attached to the back of his coat fell off, landing at the center of the area, coinciding perfectly with the trace.
He Ao’s perception swiftly enveloped all the surrounding spaces, and from the world’s deepest depths, some invisible force began to surge like a tide.
Boom—
Geslo had just stepped out of the room and took a few steps into the yard when he heard a violent roar behind him.
He turned, looking back, only to feel the cold wind rustling through his clothes.
The looming old house gradually faded from his field of view, and the endless plain reappeared in his field of view.
He gazed at this vast plain, only feeling the bone-chilling cold rising from beneath his feet, seemingly wanting to freeze his body.
He instinctively wanted to step back, but recalled He Ao’s earlier caution against retreating.
He glanced back, a quiet darkness reflected in his pupils.
A deep, bottomless abyss, at some unknown time, rose behind his ankles, the piercing cold surged from that deep darkness, exuding a soul-stirring chill.
Dong—Dong—Dong—
In the depths of the void, some invisible sound resounded, like a heavy hammer striking a stake, over and over.
Similarly, like an old heart, beating slowly and heavily.
And with this rhythmic beating, the originally vanished yard was redrawn in the void.
The row of entirely disappeared houses reappeared before his eyes, the decayed doorframe slightly trembling, as if some invisible wind was surging within the pitch-black room.
Crack—
And beneath Geslo’s feet, the ground he stood upon began to collapse rapidly.
He immediately stepped forward onto the ground ahead.
Boom boom boom—
With the sound of roaring turmoil, he looked back only to see the place he originally stood had collapsed, falling into the unseen bottomless abyss beneath.
The cliff and abyss behind him did not spare him because he didn’t retreat; instead, they pursued him.
Crack—
But he didn’t stop for even a moment, the new sound of collapse rang out again.
He had no choice but to keep moving forward.
Soon, he returned to the main entrance of the house, the dark vortex within the doorway surged, while the land behind him continued to disintegrate rapidly.
That abyss was still chasing him.
He instinctively wanted to rush into the room to escape the abyss’s swallow.
But his movements froze there, recalling He Ao’s instruction not to enter the room, no matter what happened.
He looked at the walls on both sides, grabbing the crevice in the stone wall might allow him to avoid the collapse beneath.
Then he remembered He Ao also warned him not to approach the walls.
His body froze there, unsure of what choice to make for the moment.
Boom boom boom—
The land beneath his feet and behind him continued collapsing rapidly. If he didn’t move forward, he would certainly fall into the abyss behind.
Now, it was whether he chose to trust himself or the warnings given.
He gritted his teeth, still holding himself steady.
Boom—
He felt a subtle loosening beneath his feet, and immediately, his whole body pitched backward. A violent sense of weightlessness dragged his body and soul towards the unseen bottom of the abyss.
Bang—
Ultimately, his body fell to the ground.
He looked up, the surrounding phantom walls unknown had entirely solidified, the vast plain had vanished, leaving only the aging walls standing in the ancient darkness beneath the rocky cliff.
Survived.
Geslo exhaled a long breath of relief, never had he felt that the blackened gloomy cliff was so comforting and lovely.
This experience of near-death torment is far more terrifying than being shot to death on a battlefield.
"Let us go."
A weary voice sounded in Geslo’s ear.
