Chapter 2184: Chapter 2184: Word Spirit Truth (5)
"Miss Mo, how can someone so young be so ruthless?" The man laughed joyfully. "We’re in a society ruled by law now, and after all, this is a member of the Fei Family. Please give us some face, Miss Mo."
"If that’s the case, why ask me?" Chuzheng lowered her gaze.
"Aunt, you should head back first." The man didn’t impose any punishment on the spot, instead presenting a gentle demeanor.
Fei Youping was unsure of his intent and signaled to Mo Xiangqiu, leading Fei Jinxue to leave first.
Mo Xiangqiu glared at Chuzheng, signaling her to follow.
"Miss Mo, hold on." The man called out to Chuzheng.
Mo Xiangqiu frowned, unsure of the Fei Family’s head’s intentions. "Don’t say anything reckless, understand?"
Chuzheng completely ignored Mo Xiangqiu, leaving Mo Xiangqiu fuming with anger.
Why did he adopt this daughter back then? It truly infuriated him.
"It’s getting late; everyone should rest early. Let’s call it a day for now."
Those present exchanged glances and then stood up to leave.
Once the people departed, the space suddenly felt empty. The Chief Steward ordered the broken porcelain on the ground to be cleaned up, and the servant was taken away. Soon only Chuzheng and the man were left.
"Miss Mo, come over and take a seat." The man gestured to the spot next to him, signaling Chuzheng.
Chuzheng hesitated, unsure of the man’s motives, cautiously weighed her options, and sat down.
The man produced a new teacup from somewhere, placed it in front of Chuzheng, and poured her a cup of tea. "Try it; it’s this year’s new tea from Yunding Mountain."
Tea from Yunding Mountain is very famous, but high-quality leaves are limited, making it difficult to obtain even a little.
"Is it poisoned?"
The man chuckled lightly, "Miss Mo, why would I poison you?"
"..." Your sudden hospitality makes me a little uneasy; a Good Person Card shouldn’t behave this way.
Chuzheng held the teacup and took a sip. The man propped his chin with his hand, "Not afraid of being poisoned?"
Chuzheng set the teacup down, "You didn’t ask me to stay just to offer me tea, did you?"
The man’s brows furrowed a bit as he tapped a USB drive with his finger and pushed it to the middle of the table, "Miss Mo, take a guess. If I send this for analysis, will it detect your fingerprints?"
Chuzheng’s eyes dropped slightly; a moment later, she looked up, "This item has absolutely nothing to do with me. Why would my fingerprints be found on it?"
When she took it, she wrapped it in something. How could there possibly be her fingerprints? Naive.
The man carefully scrutinized Chuzheng for a moment and then retrieved the USB drive. "It seems I really misunderstood Miss Mo."
"Good to know."
"Miss Mo, hasn’t anyone told you that when speaking in the Fei Family, you shouldn’t be so unrestrained?"
Chuzheng tilted her head slightly, her peripheral vision sweeping over the person beside her, ambiguous in meaning, "You want to teach me manners?"
The man surprisingly agreed, "If Miss Mo is willing to learn."
"..."
Oh wow, you’re so impressive, but in the end, it’s hard to say who will teach whom manners.
Without waiting for Chuzheng to speak, the man directly bid farewell, "Escort Miss Mo back."
The Chief Steward came in with two bodyguards to send Chuzheng off.
"Sir." The Chief Steward bowed, "Why did you change your mind?"
The man responded ambiguously, "She’s different from what’s in the files."
"Hmm..." So what? There are plenty of people who are different on the inside than they appear. Is the sir interested in this?
"Send the documents to my aunt and have her sign them." The man tapped the table with his fingertips, reluctant to discuss the matter further. "Otherwise, let her daughter stay inside. My aunt is a smart person; she should know how to choose."
"Yes, sir." The Chief Steward replied.
-
At Fei Youping’s villa.
"What on earth happened?" As soon as they entered, Fei Youping couldn’t hold back. "I’ve told you so many times, don’t provoke Fei Jiang, that lunatic!"
"I didn’t..." Fei Jinxue sobbed grievously.
Fei Youping suppressed her anger, "Then tell me, what exactly happened."
Fei Jinxue sniffled, "I don’t know... I really didn’t know that stuff was... his."
Fei Jinxue initially aimed to take a different set of files, though confidential, it wasn’t as important.
This amount was enough to drive Mo Chuzheng away.
Yet, she had no idea how she ended up with Fei Jiang’s files.
The room in question wasn’t originally used by Fei Jiang.
She was even more puzzled as she clearly handed the item to Mo Chuzheng. Why did Mo Chuzheng appear unscathed and with the item still on her?
"Mom, how could I possibly go for Fei Jiang’s stuff? I’m not stupid. I really don’t know why things turned out this way."
Fei Jinxue sobbed till she was breathless.
"If it wasn’t you..." Fei Youping paced back and forth, "Then who? Who else knows you intended to do this?"
Fei Jinxue shook her head, "I didn’t tell anyone."
Having lived in the Fei Family for so many years, Fei Jinxue knew that she couldn’t truly trust anyone here; she dared not speak to anyone.
"Given it’s important, Fei Jiang wouldn’t leave it lying around..." This situation isn’t right.
Upon seeing the Chief Steward, Fei Youping realized exactly how things were off.
This was clearly a trap!
Fei Jiang must have deliberately placed the thing there.
No matter if Fei Jinxue managed to frame that wild girl or not, Fei Jinxue would have to pay the price for this.
But the cost would now be paid by her.
What Fei Jiang wanted was merely the company she owned.
Fei Youping owned a company under her, a gift from the old man.
Fei Youping knew that Fei Jiang wanted that company, but its profitability could only be considered decent.
It simply didn’t compare to other companies, so why was Fei Jiang insistent on acquiring it?
The less she understood, the less Fei Youping wanted to hand it over.
She owned more than one company and didn’t rely on it for profit. The fact that Fei Jiang wanted it made Fei Youping feel that there must be a secret to this company.
But now it wasn’t a matter of what she wanted.
Whether she wanted it or not, now was not the time for her to have options.
"Miss Fourth, please sign." The Chief Steward reminded, "It’s getting late; Miss Jinxue seems very tired today. Miss Fourth wouldn’t want Miss Jinxue to be more exhausted, would you?"
Fei Youping held the pen tightly, her fingertips turning white, "Does he feel accomplished calculating against children?"
The Chief Steward didn’t respond.
Fei Youping gritted her teeth and signed her name, throwing the documents at the Chief Steward.
The Chief Steward examined them, then bowed with a smile and left with his men.
"What did you sign?" Mo Xiangqiu finally dared to speak.
"A company."
"A company?"
Fei Youping didn’t want to explain too much and instructed Mo Xiangqiu, "Take Jinxue upstairs to rest first."
Jinxue’s situation was already clear to her.
It was just Fei Jiang, the lunatic, deliberately setting the trap.
But how did Fei Jiang know Jinxue would do this?
Mo Xiangqiu was worried, "Youping..."
"I’m fine." Fei Youping shook her head, "Let me be alone to cool down."
In Fei Youping’s domain, Mo Xiangqiu was clearly the weaker party and could only follow Fei Youping’s lead, taking Fei Jinxue upstairs.
