Legend of the chosen ones: Beyond Destiny
Chapter 1861 - 957: Last Words
"What the hell?"
Two hours later, Lou Feng finally saw Ji Jue's ghostly appearance and jumped three feet high in fright: "What kind of ghost is this?"
"Ah ba, ah ba, ah ba, ah ba..."
At this moment, right in front of him, Ji Jue on the wheelchair showed no reaction.
His mouth was askew, drooling, body convulsing in spasms, and his two hands curled up on his chest were twitching, clumsily gesturing 'six'.
Lou Feng was both annoyed and amused.
This damn thing has gotten addicted to extorting people, huh?
Keep acting!
Just keep acting!
See if I believe you!
Unfortunately, Ji Jue still showed no reaction, no matter how much Lou Feng ridiculed and taunted, he continued to smile foolishly, drool, his gaze vacant, and unfocused.
[No need to worry, although you don't seem to be; for now, it's just that his brain is temporarily fried.]
Isis's voice resounded from the office by the coast, as the wheelchair's mechanical arm directly lifted Ji Jue's skull, revealing sparks flying from the mechanical structure inside.
The burnt smell only added to the atmosphere.
Lou Feng's expression stalled for a moment, suspicion fading away, yet the mockery remained unchanged.
"If his brain is broken, treat it. Why come to me?"
He turned his gaze away coldly, impatiently waving his hand: "Do I look like I have time to spare?"
[As the Spirit of Workshop, I will perform the appointed tasks.]
Isis's voice was devoid of emotion, interrupting his complaints: [As per the gentleman's instructions, I will convey the message and hand over the authorities.]
Along with his words, scenes from the past emerged in the air, appearing in front of Lou Feng.
"Isis, please record for me... just treat it as, um, haha, a will."
With slightly tousled hair, Ji Jue paused his assembly work, looked up ahead, pondered for a moment, and spoke straightforwardly:
"If one day I can no longer stay conscious and perform my duties, all affairs within the United Workshop will be decided by Lou Feng alone. As for matters concerning the Association and the Coast, I'm afraid he'll have to temporarily manage them.
If there's no hope of recovery for me, all my inheritance and projects will also be handled by Lou Feng... much work for the capable, huh, haha, though it sounds quite unfair, if things turn out that way, I'm afraid there's no other way, right?"
He chuckled playfully, discussing his life and death with such nonchalance, but as he continued, he suddenly paused.
In that brief silence, he put down his things, sighed lightly, and raised his head solemnly.
It was as if, through the long passage of time, he was looking into the present, at the astonished Lou Feng, and finally, he smiled brightly.
"I'm leaving it to you, my friend."
The image halted abruptly.
Frozen at that moment.
Through the semi-transparent projection, that peaceful face and the current drooling, dazed craftsman on the wheelchair seemed to overlap, plunging Lou Feng into silence.
His breathing became gradually heavier.
The mocking expression originally on his face stiffened, quickly turning red.
Until he could no longer restrain his anger!!!
He grabbed Ji Jue by the collar, roaring angrily at him: "I told you, stop freaking joking with me! Are you deaf, you idiot, speak!!!"
"..."
Ji Jue continued twitching, saliva snaking down from the corner of his mouth, his empty pupils reflecting the figure before him.
Until Lou Feng no longer had any strength left and let go of his hands.
On the wheelchair, Ji Jue still curled and convulsed, mumbling, without any reaction, smiling foolishly, and drooling.
Yet Lou Feng seemed utterly exhausted, lowering his head.
He closed his eyes.
After a long time, he turned around and walked away angrily.
Bang!
After the door slammed shut, the heavy footsteps gradually receded.
As if a decision had been made.
Never to look back.
In the room, amidst a fleeting flash of light and shadow, the past recording resumed.
A lighthearted whistle sounded, and Ji Jue continued to focus on his work, until Isis asked: [Sir, I don't understand what meaning there is in recording this sort of thing.]
"Ha, just in case!"
Ji Jue shrugged, unconcerned: "Anyway, just treat it as insurance.
If something goes wrong with me, just telling him this will make him give his all, no, 300% effort!"
He paused, pinching his chin, eyebrows dancing with excitement: "Who knows, he might just get all fired up and work overtime, and we could make the Coast bigger, stronger, and even more glorious!!!"
So, Isis fell silent, for a long time, genuinely praising: [You're really something, sir.]
To this, Ji Jue merely whistled, indifferent.
"Who says otherwise?"
Although arranging this setup for Old Lou was somewhat unscrupulous, isn't it reasonable? Even if Ji Jue hadn't said it, nothing would change.
Once the Master Craftsman cannot govern, others within the faction must step up to take the lead.
As the overseer, this is Lou Feng's due responsibility and rightful power.
It's a tighter alliance than any superficial bond among craftsmen, grounded in legacy and theory.
This is what a faction is.
No matter how angry Lou Feng might get, how filthy his curses, nothing would change the fact—once you're on this pirate ship, you stay on it for life unless both sides rip each other apart and sever all ties.
Otherwise, if one day Ji Jue really gets unlucky, and abruptly dies in some gutter, Lou Feng must step up to take the flag and the throne of the Three Phases and One System, ensuring the inheritance doesn't falter, and the Three Phases continues!
Since that's the case, what's wrong with a little extra effort in advance?
