Chapter 2787: Chapter 2787: Imperial Mausoleum

Perhaps it was the long-dormant empathy starting to overflow, or perhaps Julius Reed felt that the remnants of souls before him were all pitiful people.

Once ruthless, he now felt a slight pang of pity facing these wronged souls who met tragic ends.

"I am in the Emperor Realm, you’re as good as dead, there’s no way you can fight back!"

The remnant soul, seemingly unaware of its fate, continued to charge at Julius Reed!

"You’re already dead, no longer in the Emperor Realm, just a lonely wandering ghost!"

With those words, Julius Reed no longer held back.

He knew these beings were losing their sanity.

The Sword Qi struck the remnant soul, completely erasing the last traces left in the world by the Emperor Realm Grandmaster.

The remnant soul vanished, leaving only faint traces of Spiritual Power.

But suddenly.

It seemed the death of this remnant soul triggered a reaction.

The entire heap of corpses began to stir.

Then, one by one, remnant souls began to emerge.

Julius Reed squinted his eyes, looking at the hundreds of remnant souls before him!

Though numerous, the power of the remnant souls was insignificant.

They weren’t even capable of Telekinesis.

Humans have three souls and seven spirits.

The three souls and seven spirits actually constitute the parts of Telekinesis.

Now, only one spirit remained.

It held no lethal power.

The truly formidable ones were the three souls!

The three souls are the Telekinesis, carrying the Spiritual Power within it.

Without the three souls, only the last obsession remained.

The obsession formed the current remnant souls.

"Do you think you are still a match for me?" Julius Reed asked in return, "I can kill you all easily. But now I only want to know, how did you die?"

"You’re not one of them?"

The remnant souls fell silent.

One of them stepped forward, looking at Julius Reed.

So much time had passed. These remnant souls could still exist solely because these top Emperor Realm experts retained some Spiritual Power within.

Coupled with the abundant Spiritual Power of the Boulevard mountains, these remnants could survive here.

Yet, they were like weathered plastic.

All were in a state of disrepair.

As if a gust of wind could disperse them.

"If I were one of them, would I still stand here asking you?"

Julius Reed pointed at the remnant souls, with a touch of sadness in his voice, "I sympathize with you greatly, and I also wish to know the truth."

"Don’t believe him! These people are all treacherous scoundrels!"

"Indeed, they are all liars! Even if we become utterly destroyed, we must fight back!"

Those remnant souls were filled with animosity towards Julius Reed.

That kind of rage was heartfelt.

It was clear that sheer hatred was what sustained them.

"What if I told you that outside, there’s another group of people just like you, moving around. I’ve even killed a few of them."

Julius Reed glanced and pointed at one of the remnant souls: "You’re one of them. I killed him, thinking he was dead. But seeing you here surprised me greatly."

"I don’t know what happened to you, but I can tell you now, I can help you. As long as you tell me, I can help you uncover the truth."

Julius Reed took a deep breath and said, "Do you wish for them to kill you and live on using your identity? That’s unfair to you."

"I don’t believe you!"

That person shook their head.

"Then take a look."

With a move, Julius Reed displayed the techniques of Emperor Cloud Harris!

And the moves of those he had killed!

The current Julius Reed, having already grasped the origin, could disassemble and learn the moves of top experts!

So he only needed to see the opponent’s move once and could learn it.

At least replicate it with great resemblance.

Seeing Julius Reed in action, the hundreds of remnant souls turned to look at a few specific ones.

The few remnant souls exchanged glances and all nodded approvingly.

"Sorry."

The leading remnant soul walked up to Julius Reed and immediately knelt down!

"Please help us!"

After he spoke, the rest all knelt.

Uniformly.

The hundreds of remnant souls all knelt on the ground, leaving Julius Reed deeply moved.

"What exactly happened back then?"

He inquired.

This was crucial.

All these remnant souls were nearing their end, who knows when they might just scatter.

"Everyone, I will do my utmost, but I need to know what happened."

Julius Reed walked over, "Stand up, all of you."

"Back then, in order to find the crown, we took turns going into a deep sleep. And in that era, the Spiritual Power was abundant, so we carefully chose the most suitable place to sleep, which was here. Here is called White Wolf Mountain."

"The Spiritual Power of White Wolf Mountain was the most dense in our world. Though we slept, we still needed Spiritual Power as a supplement."

"Once the Spiritual Power is exhausted, we would die."

"So choosing a suitable environment was extremely important!"

"But we also considered one possibility, that is, later on, someone might worry we would threaten them and kill us. So White Wolf Mountain had a protection mechanism."

"And that is Formation! Each of us had a Formation protecting us."

"Moreover, on each person’s body, to prevent harm, there were special means. Once one of us died, it would awaken everyone else!"

The remnant soul mentioned this, prompting Julius Reed to recall something Rian Harris once said.

That if an Emperor Realm expert died, then others in the Emperor Realm would become aware.

Presumably, this design is related to that.

"Hence, no one would take such risky actions. But unexpected problems still arose."

"Humans possess ambition."

"From our blurry memory, someone secretly opened a tunnel, reaching the place where we slept. Although we didn’t know who did it, it must have been the Nine Provinces King! Because only the Nine Provinces King had that right!"

"White Wolf Mountain is a divine tomb, an Emperor’s mausoleum! We slept here, under the protection of the Nine Provinces Court. No one could enter. Yet someone not only came in but also broke the Formation."

"Even used extremely malicious methods, inserting things into our heads, forcibly taking away the means we used to alert our counterparts."

"Only when the Spiritual Power scattered and the Telekinesis vanished, were we deemed dead. They took away our Spiritual Power and Telekinesis, but left one spirit."

"Precisely this spirit turned all our warnings into mere displays. Yet I didn’t expect, they would use our Telekinesis to create people just like us!"

"I beg of you, avenge us!"

"Let us know the truth!"

That person looked at Julius Reed, and even as a remnant soul, Julius Reed still felt that yearning.

"I surely will, but can you offer any clues about the one who harmed you? I at least need to know their motive and who it might be, otherwise it’s like searching for a needle in the ocean, which is no solution."

Julius Reed felt a bit troubled.
