Chapter 629 The truth of Aqualina: Part-1

“~ha~”

“~ha~”

Aqualina panted heavily, her chest rising and falling as her body finally settled from the overwhelming pleasure. Her vision slowly cleared, revealing Aether’s disbelieving face as she leaned her naked, sweat-drenched body against him.

His expression was frozen in shock, his eyes wide, as though he couldn’t process what he’d just heard.

“Haha…” Aqualina let out a weak, breathy chuckle. “I can’t believe you actually made me spill the truth… Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would say it aloud… especially since I was supposed to take it to my grave… Ha…” Her gaze met his, and she smirked faintly, her eyes shimmering with exhaustion, “Come on, Aether, I’m not lying… I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s real.”

Aether’s face remained unreadable, his silence unsettling.

The revelation had shaken him—but not entirely…. Maybe just a little, like when he first discovered Noirix’s secret.

But this situation felt… off.

“You’re telling me you’re her m-mother? And you remember everything from your previous life?” His voice wavered before it turned firm, his jaw clenching. “Didn’t Sandra… kill her parents?”

His mind raced, pieces falling into place, ‘Sandra’s mother, reborn for revenge… that explains why Aqualina kept saying she killed her mother… Like she is about to do or something?… Damn, that’s some next-level vengeance. Worse than Leon’s,’ he thought, swallowing hard.

Controlling this reborn vengeful woman would be no easy feat…. His already fucked up life was spiralling into something even more twisted.

Aqualina blinked in surprise, “So… it’s true… she really killed them… ah.”

“Them?” Aether’s brow furrowed deeper.

Aqualina exhaled slowly and laid her head on his chest. “Yeah… I have all the memories from my past life…” Her voice trembled, and a shadow of pain crossed her face. “Those nightmares I’ve been having… they weren’t just random. They were fragments of my past… I am Sandra’s mother. The First Queen, Aqualina Naiadia.”

“…” Aether stared at her, stunned into silence. “Aqualina? Even in your previous life?” His shock deepened, disbelief coursing through him. ‘Damn it, Sandra… No matter how much you loved your mother, you killed her and then named your daughter after her? That’s beyond twisted… what the hell?’ he groaned internally.

“Surprise…” Aqualina murmured, her voice tinged with bitter irony. “I was shocked too… Never thought she’d name her daughter after me…” Her eyes dulled, her emotions slipping away as the weight of the past consumed her.

Sensing her spiralling thoughts, Aether acted instinctively, slapping her ass cheek lightly as his still-hard shaft pressed deeper inside her, nudging her womb.

“HYKK!” Aqualina gasped, her body jolting as her eyes snapped back into focus.

Aether’s hand trailed soothingly over her ass, his touch firm but comforting. “Stay with me, my lady. Don’t sink into that darkness again,” he whispered, his nose brushing against hers, his breath warm and steady.

Aqualina raised an eyebrow before a faint smile curved her lips, “I’m sorry… It’s just… whenever I think about it, I… I… feel like my whole world is crumbling… Everything I thought I knew… shattered. I don’t even know what’s happening anymore… I-I feel like I’m losing myself… I—”

Before her panic could overwhelm her, Aether sealed her trembling lips with a soft kiss, grounding her. “Breathe,” he murmured against her mouth. “You can take your time… I’m here. I’m not going anywhere until you’re calm and yourself again.” His hand gently stroked her back, offering reassurance.

Aqualina inhaled shakily, nodding against him. After a few moments, she spoke, her voice still laced with worry.

“My name is Aqualina… I come from a Duke family and was politically married to the previous Emperor—the Chosen One of this Empire. At first, everything seemed perfect. There were no misunderstandings, no hidden agendas… I truly believed he loved me. But then… I was blindsided when I discovered he married another woman—the Chosen One of this Empire…”

…..

“Your Majesty, may I know the reason behind your second marriage?” A woman, her belly swollen with pregnancy, knelt before the man seated on the throne. Her voice trembled slightly, though she tried to maintain composure, “I believe I’ve given my utmost to this empire, handling its affairs with the same dedication and care as you. I have proven my worth to both the empire and to you.”

The man exhaled heavily, his gaze steady. “If you truly believe in your worthiness, then tell me… What exactly have I done that was wrong?”

The woman bit her lip, struggling to find words. Deep down, she knew he hadn’t done anything wrong. The other woman was the Chosen One, and the empire couldn’t afford to lose someone like that. But still…

“Was marrying her really the only option? What about appointing her as a general? There were countless other possibilities, but—” She stopped herself before her frustration boiled over into a shout.

The man on the throne cut her off, his voice cold. “A Chosen One cannot be beneath a ruler, Aqualina. She is more than you can comprehend. Even a hundred of you wouldn’t be worth a fraction of her. You understand that, don’t you?”

Just as Aqualina opened her mouth to respond,

“Never have I seen a woman bark at an emperor…” A beautiful woman strode into the throne room, her expression twisted with disdain. Her eyes flicked to Aqualina with a look of pure disgust.

“The emperor has every right to make his decisions. He isn’t leeching off you. In fact, you’re the one who leeched your way into power through that political marriage. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have spared a glance at a woman like you.”

Aqualina’s lips twitched, barely restraining her fury. She shot a glance at the man before retorting, “And if she weren’t the Chosen One, a roadside commoner like her wouldn’t have dared to set foot in this palace.”

“YOU BITCH!!” The beautiful woman lunged forward, eyes blazing with rage, ready to strike Aqualina.

The man stepped between them, “How dare you? She is carrying my child. If anything happens to her, you should remember… I am also a Chosen One. I have power too!” His voice was laced with warning, his glare cutting.

Aqualina’s lips curled into a subtle, triumphant smirk.

The woman’s expression shifted from fury to shock. Her gaze fell to Aqualina’s swollen belly, and something softened in her eyes. Slowly, she placed a hand on her own stomach. “I came to inform you… I am pregnant as well.”

The man’s eyes widened in astonishment. “Good… Very good!”

Before he could celebrate, the woman’s voice turned sharp. “Since we’re both carrying your children, Your Majesty… why don’t we decide now who will rule this empire?”

Aqualina’s eyes narrowed. “What do you mean? Of course, it will be my child. I am the rightful queen of this empire—”

The man cut her off with a nod, “That’s a fair idea. Whoever excels with the greatest talent and aptitude, whether boy or girl, shall rule the empire.” His decree echoed through the hall, leaving Aqualina frozen in dread. She glanced at the other woman, whose smile had twisted into something wicked.

Aqualina clenched her fists in pure, seething anger.

She understood all too well that the child of the Chosen One was likely to be more talented than anyone else’s.

Her position was now precarious and,

Whether it was fate or a curse…

The day her child was born… a daughter… she was blind!

Blind from birth.

The child had already lost before the game even began.

To make matters worse, the child was marked as a Blank Card—destined to possess no talent in anything.

Nothing at all!

Her name was Marisandra!
