Chapter 1440: You must be out before the next barrier solidifies again. Otherwise

*Hahahaha… do you really think you can escape from me, you bitches?*

The tall metallic figure roared, its distorted laughter echoing across the shattered battlefield.

*This revenge is for my little brother. Hahaha!*

As it hammered Thalia relentlessly, its massive piston-like arms slamming down again and again with merciless force.

Each impact sent shockwaves tearing through the ground!

BOP! BOP!

Nightfire’s face drained in horror.

The earth trembled violently beneath her feet, cracking and collapsing as if the land itself could not endure the violence unleashed upon it.

“W-What should I do now?” Nightfire whispered, her voice trembling with panic and disbelief.

Her mind struggled to keep pace with the nightmare unfolding before her eyes, yet her body refused to move.

All she could do was watch as Thalia disappeared beneath the relentless blows.

However,

“Don’t worry…”

The voice was faint, broken, yet unmistakably alive. It rose from beneath the fractured ground.

Thud!

The piston fist froze mid-motion as a deep groaning sound rippled outward, vibrating through metal.

Nightfire blinked in disbelief as she watched the towering metallic figure stagger backwards, its massive frame forced away by an eruption of red-golden flames pouring violently from the caved ground below.

Nightfire’s breath caught in her throat as her eyes widened in shock.

From the flames, Thalia slowly emerged, rising from the shattered earth like a reborn inferno. Her face, once disfigured and torn, burned and healed simultaneously, flesh knitting together under the blazing red-golden fire that wrapped around her body.

Skin reformed, muscle pulled itself whole, and her lips slowly took shape once more as a wicked grin spread across her face.

“I can feel it…” Thalia laughed softly, “Haha… It’s everywhere.”

In a blur of motion, she lunged forward and drove her fist into the metallic figure with overwhelming force.

BAM!

The impact sent the figure sliding backwards, its heavy frame screeching against the broken ground as sparks and debris scattered violently.

Thalia blinked as her eyes fully formed again, blazing with untamed fire. She flexed her fingers, staring down at her restored body in awe.

“This Primordial bloodline…” she murmured, her grin widening with dangerous excitement. “It’s getting interesting.”

Her body looked untouched, flawless, as if she had never been wounded at all.

She slammed her foot into the ground, and the earth cracked instantly beneath her, unable to withstand the heat radiating from her body. Flames surged as she launched herself skyward, clasping her hands together overhead with lethal intent.

The metallic figure reacted at last, recognising the overwhelming threat. It raised one massive arm in a desperate attempt to block her descent.

BOOOOMMM!!

Crack.

Shatterrrr~

The moment Thalia’s flaming fists collided with its arm, the metal fractured like fragile glass. Cracks raced outward instantly, splintering the figure’s defences before her strike crashed straight into the red glass embedded in its face.

The glass spiderwebbed violently before the entire figure was hurled backwards, crashing into the ground with a thunderous impact that sent dust and debris billowing into the air.

Thalia landed atop the shattered red glass, flames curling around her legs as she straightened slowly. She clenched her fist, smirking with savage satisfaction.

“The angrier I get,” she said with heat and exhilaration, “the hotter my flames burn. Haha… who would have thought something like this was possible?”

Her laughter deepened as the power within her surged higher, feeding on her fury and will alone, growing stronger without the need for Arcane or Clarion nonsense.

She brought her fist down again and again, each punch splintering the red glass further as cracks spread across its surface like veins of destruction, the battlefield echoing with the sound of breaking metal and roaring flames.

*Bitch, let me go!!*

The figure roared in rage as its remaining arm twisted unnaturally, energy compressing within the exposed mechanisms before releasing in a violent surge.

A concentrated blue beam tore through the air toward her, humming with unstable power as it scorched everything in its path.

PUSSSH!

Thud!

Thalia was blasted backwards, her body flung across the battlefield, yet instead of dimming, her flames burned brighter. She twisted midair and landed gracefully beside Nightfire, boots skidding across cracked stone as embers scattered around her like falling stars.

Thalia turned her head slightly, glancing at Nightfire, who stood frozen with wide eyes and shallow breaths, still struggling to understand what she had just witnessed.

A crooked smile tugged at Thalia’s lips.

“Look at you, worried about your big sister like that,” she said lightly, “That’s actually kind of sweet.”

She leaned in without warning, winked, and pressed a quick kiss against Nightfire’s forehead.

Nightfire blinked hard, recoiling half a step.

“The fuck? Big sister? Hell no!” she snapped, “Don’t flatter yourself. Who the hell do you think you are?”

Despite the protest, her shoulders loosened, breath evening out as the fear in her eyes slowly faded.

Thalia smiled gently, flames flickering lower around her body as she noticed Nightfire’s relief.

Sssnnnggg!!

A high-pitched whining sound cut through the happy moment.

Both Nightfire and Thalia turned forward as the towering figure pushed itself upright, joints releasing compressed gas while plates along its body shifted and locked into place.

As if it was recalibrating!

*Fuck you, bitches!!!!*

It screamed as its stance lowered, feet grinding into the fractured ground, energy building once more for another assault.

“Don’t call us bitches.”

A calm, steady voice echoed from behind them.

Before Nightfire could even turn to see who spoke, Thalia’s instincts flared. She grabbed Nightfire and yanked her down with her.

SSssssllll~

A blade tore through the air above them, the sound clean and lethal, slicing vertically with terrifying precision. The sword struck the already shattered red glass embedded in the metallic figure’s face, cleaving it straight down the centre.

Crraacccckkkk!

The glass fractured instantly, cracks spiderwebbing outward before exploding into fragments that rained across the battlefield.

The blade did not stop, instead snapping backwards as a long strip of cloth wrapped around its hilt pulled it cleanly back to its wielder.

Thalia and Nightfire turned in unison.

Selene stood balanced on one leg, body angled forward in a dynamic stance, the other leg drawn back for stability. The sword rested in her grip, cloth still fluttering from its handle.

She glanced toward them, lips curling with confidence.

“I can do this all day,” she said with fearless eyes.

With a smooth motion, she spun, landing almost upright while still keeping one foot off the ground, poised and proud, standing like a ninja.

Thalia let out a low laugh, flames dancing higher as she clapped her hands together, delight flashing across her face.

“That’s what I’m talking about,” she said, grin widening. “Now this is getting fun.”

Nightfire stared, eyes trailing over Selene’s torn skirt and half-top as she noticed the missing fabric wrapped tightly around the sword’s hilt.

So she used her own clothes as a conduit.

Not a bad idea at all.

*FUCK YOU ALL!!*

The metallic figure screamed.

The trio turned toward the towering metallic giant, and… all three froze in disbelief.

Inside the hollowed face of the tall metallic figure, a smaller metallic figure hung suspended, bound by glowing wires and embedded stones that pulsed with unstable light.

Nightfire squinted, “Isn’t that one of the usual ones?” she muttered under her breath, “Those things that appear, disappear, and barely cause trouble at all.”

Selene narrowed her eyes, her grip tightening on the sword as the cloth-bound hilt shifted around her wrist.

“So it is controlling this giant from the inside,” she said calmly, “What kind of twisted magic even allows this?”

Before either of them could think further, the ground trembled faintly beneath their feet, not from impact, but…

/We started the thinning process./

Celestia’s voice echoed briefly.

The three exchanged quick looks, no further explanation needed. Their focus snapped back to the metallic giant as its joints hissed and realigned, the inner figure glowing brighter in response.

Selene lifted her sword, spinning it once as the cloth unravelled slightly.

“I will focus on the rods and wires,” she said coldly, “If I sever its control, this thing will collapse.”

Thalia’s flames flared higher as she rolled her shoulders, molten heat rippling across her arms.

“Then I will handle the other hand,” she replied with a grin that carried hunger and fury.

Her fists clenched, fire licking between her fingers.

Nightfire blinked, then pointed at herself with mild disbelief.

“…What about me?”

Both Selene and Thalia glanced at her at the same time.

“Piss it off,” Thalia said without hesitation, already leaning forward.

Before Nightfire could argue, both women launched into motion, Selene gliding low with a spinning step while Thalia burst forward in a blaze of heat.

Nightfire stood there for half a heartbeat, stunned.

Then a slow, wicked smile crept across her face.

“I can do that,” she muttered, straightening her posture as her eyes locked onto the inner figure.

She softened her expression deliberately, tilting her head with exaggerated innocence.

“Oi, asshole,” she called out sweetly. “Did your mother even know who your father was?”

She leaned forward, “Or was she too busy being a whore to remember?”

She followed the insult with a crude hand gesture… a more fingers going into a hole!

The metallic figure stared at Nightfire deeply for some reason.

For a moment, Nightfire’s grin faltered.

“…Wait,” she muttered. “It understands?”

*YOU FUCKING WHORES!*

Blue energy erupted from the giant’s core, beams tearing through the air straight toward Nightfire.

“Shit!” she yelled, spinning on her heel and sprinting as explosions chased her footsteps. “It actually understands!”

Above her, Thalia leapt skyward, flames spiraling around her legs as she slammed down onto the giant’s remaining hand, her punches crashing like meteors against steel.

*I AM NOT AN IDIOT WHO FALLS FOR THE SAME TRICK, BITCH!*

The figure reacted faster this time.

Its damaged arm flickered violently as sparks surged through the exposed joints.

The moment those exposed wires touched her body…. energy was discharged, Thalia screamed.

SPARK!!

“ARRH!”

Her body convulsed mid-strike as electricity ripped through her muscles, pain exploding through every nerve as if ten thousand volts were tearing her apart from the inside.

Spar-

Then suddenly, the sparks stuttered.

Crackled.

And died.

The figure froze.

Its head turned slowly, mechanically, toward its back.

Behind it,

Thuck!

The blade pierced straight through the protruding wires along the figure’s back.

Selene moved like a dancer caught in a violent rhythm, her body turning with controlled grace as the cloth bound to her sword snapped and coiled through the air.

Instead of hacking at thick plates, she sliced cleanly through thinner sections, severing joints, cables, and exposed conduits.

*AARRRRHHH!*

The metallic figure screamed, the sound distorted and furious, disbelief seeping through the mechanical roar.

Moments ago, these three had been nothing more than insects beneath its feet, things meant to be crushed without effort. Now pain tore through its systems, alarms screaming within its core.

*GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM ME!!*

Suddenly, electricity surged across its entire body in a violent flash.

“ARRH!!”

The discharge blasted outward in all directions.

Thalia was thrown back first, her body locking up as raw current slammed into her like a living storm.

Even Selene was not spared. The moment the surge travelled through the embedded sword, it raced along the metal and into her grip, burning cloth, and as it hurled her backwards through the air.

“Arh!”

Both of them hit the ground hard, rolling across cracked stone before skidding to a halt.

Nightfire moved instantly, sprinting toward them as they struggled upright, her eyes flicking back to the towering metallic figure.

White smoke curled from its joints as it staggered in place, its movements uneven and strained, a shrill whining sound escaping from within its frame.

Thalia’s body still jerked involuntarily, muscles spasming as lingering electricity danced beneath her skin. She clenched her jaw, forcing herself steady through sheer will.

“What happened?” Nightfire muttered.

Whatever the thing had just done had hurt it too.

Selene lifted her gaze past the enemy, her sharp eyes catching something else entirely.

The barrier surrounding the area had thinned to the point where even the breeze distorted it, the surface bulging and rippling like stretched film, trembling violently as if struggling to hold together.

Then Celestia’s voice echoed in their minds.

/Guys? Are you ready?/

The voice was urgent and serious,

/The thinning is almost finished. In five seconds, we will reach the exact point we calculated. When it happens, you need to hit it with everything you have and burst it open. After that, you have three seconds to move at least fifty meters from your current location./

There was a brief pause.

/You must be out before the next barrier solidifies again. Otherwise…/

She didn’t finish the sentence.

She didn’t need to.

Death!

The trio exchanged a single look, no fear left in their eyes now, only resolve.
