Knotted By The Devilish Alpha Brothers
Chapter 115: I am innocent
Chapter 115: Chapter 115: I am innocent
The three brothers stared at her, stunned into silence.
Amelia looked down at her hands. "I know what to do. I know how to get them back... but I can’t do it here."
She lifted her gaze again, searching each of their faces.
"Why do you believe I wasn’t the cause of what happened? You shouldn’t just take my word for it. You all saw it with your own eyes. I harmed those people. I can’t even imagine how many lives were lost because of me. I have to suffer the consequences for it."
"You won’t suffer consequences for something you didn’t willingly do. You were under hypnosis." Enzo said firmly.
Amelia’s eyes widened slightly. "I didn’t know that. I don’t recall anyone placing that kind of spell on me."
Reid replied. "It was Claire’s doing. She and Skye did it without our knowledge. And they’re going to pay for it."
"No." Amelia shook her head at once, disbelief clear in her voice. "That can’t be. They wouldn’t do that to me."
"You trust them too much. From the beginning they never trusted you—just like we didn’t at first. But they chose to take matters into their own hands."
"Why would they want me to cause havoc in the territory? To harm innocent lives?"
Dean answered this time. "To cast you out of existence. To give them solid proof that you were truly an enemy—and that you belonged to the Underworld."
Amelia had no reply. The words settled like stones in her chest.
Why would Skye and Claire believe she was part of them? why does skye and Claire want her...dead?
But the evidence was already there, written in shattered glass and wounded bodies.
Enzo spoke. "If we had acted as rashly as we used to, we would have fallen for their plan completely. But that woman’s sudden appearance... and and our instincts told us the Amelia we’ve known these few months would never do something like this. Not ever."
Warmth flickered through Amelia’s chest at the unshakable certainty in his voice.
"I don’t even know what to say to that," she whispered, her voice faltering before she look straight into his eyes. "A lot of things have broken between us... and—"
She stopped herself, the rest of the sentence catching in her throat.
Enzo didn’t press her. "Whatever you need to do what you want to do, we’ll get it for you."
"I just want to leave this place."
Reid stood at once. "Sure. I’ll call someone to discharge you."
He left the room without another word.
The moment the door closed, the heaviness returned to Amelia’s chest. Skye and Claire were responsible for this. Even though they had never been close, they had still been the only ones who treated her like a normal human being from the beginning.
What if skye took the fall for rue? Isn’t rue her girlfriend?
"What about Rue?"
"She’s receiving a different punishment," Enzo answered. "Turns out she’s been having secret dealings with Underworld subjects."
Amelia didn’t feel so shocked from what she heard. Rue didn’t try to hide her expressions that she wants her gone.
Dean’s expression darkened, the anger directed somewhere far from her. "All these years we’ve been hunting them... and the person we should have been watching was right under our noses. Inside our own house."
Reid returned with a doctor in tow. Papers were signed. Procedures were completed. Within a short time Amelia was officially discharged.
Dean lifted her into his arms without asking. Amelia shifted nervously. "I can walk."
"I know. But I kind of like holding you."
She didn’t argue further.
When they stepped out of the hospital entrance, a group of security personnel was already waiting. One of the men, roughly the same age as the brothers, approached and offered a formal greeting before speaking.
"We can’t allow the woman to leave the territory. She must face the Supreme Court for her actions."
Enzo’s reply was cold. "We already know exactly what happened, and we submitted the statements. Amelia has no fault in this."
The officer didn’t back down.
"I’m simply following instructions. It would be unfortunate if we were forced to make you comply."
Behind him, the line of officers shifted in unison. Weapons cocked with a sharp, synchronized clack. A few of them began the first subtle changes of a werewolf shift, bones tensed and eyes flashing with the beginning of a transformation.
The three brothers answered as one, a low, guttural growl vibrating straight up from the floorboards. Their combined aura slammed outward like a physical wall of leaden weight. Several officers staggered backward under the sheer, suffocating pressure, color draining from their faces as sheer, primal terror tore right through their combat training.
"Please stop. I’d like to follow procedure for this."
The brothers fell silent. The crushing pressure of their auras eased at once. Dean adjusted his hold on her slightly, eyes still locked on the officers. "We’ll take her there ourselves."
They turned away without another glance at the man who had spoken, walking toward the vehicle that had been prepared for them.
The remaining officers moved toward their own vehicles, voices low but carrying in the open air.
"Can you believe the devilish brothers are actually fond of a woman?"
"Our boss wasn’t scared of them for one second. He was ready to fight all three."
"That’s basically suicide. Master Caleb is no match for them—even if he is a prodigy."
Caleb, the officer who had confronted the brothers, turned a sharp look on the group. The comments died immediately. The men swallowed whatever else they had been about to say and climbed into their vehicles in silence.
Caleb remained where he stood, watching the brothers’ car pull away from the hospital grounds. A slight smile touched the corner of his mouth.
Inside the vehicle, Amelia sat quietly between them, lost in her own thoughts.
She wanted answers. She needed them.
She was no longer the helpless victim she had spent a lifetime believing she was. She refused to let anyone dictate her worth or trample her ever again. Her life belonged to her, completely and entirely, and her singular desire was agonizingly simple: to carve out a quiet, peaceful existence.
The image of that peaceful life somehow including the three men slipped into her mind without permission. She shook it away at once.
Anything involving them was never peaceful.
And yet... the thought of being apart from them felt worse.
She had been doing an impressive job of ignoring the intense stares fixed on her from all three directions. Finally she turned her head and looked at them fully, one brow lifting.
"Could you three maybe blink? You’re staring at me like a pack of starving wolves who just spotted the last piece of meat on the planet and are trying to decide whether to share or fight to the death over it."
