King of Hundred Victories Saber
Chapter 1209 - 315: Ginkgo, Lingering Snow and Zen Mind; Qing Feng’s Passionate Blood Aids Li Yuan (Part 2)
Just as Shi Feiyang’s toes touched the window ledge, he suddenly felt a gust of wind behind his head.
Bai Renfeng had unexpectedly returned, and it was unclear when he had acquired a poisoned soft whip, its tip entwined with twelve iron thistles, slicing the air with the sound reminiscent of a night owl’s prolonged wail.
"Shi Feiyang, prepare to die!" Bai Renfeng’s bandage at the severed arm seeped black blood, but his eyes burned with a frenzied killing intent, the soft whip snaking toward Shi Feiyang’s vital point at the center of his back.
Shi Feiyang spun his body, stepping sharply aside, deploying the "Deep Concealment of Body and Name" technique, his dark outfit leaving three residual shadows in the moonlight. The soft whip grazed his shoulder, the iron thistles pounding the green bricks, creating a crater the size of a bowl, with splintered stones spewing a ghostly green poisonous smoke.
He thrust both palms forward, executing the "Red Dust Slash" of the "Hundred Victories Saber Technique," a powerful saber aura slicing toward Bai Renfeng’s face, only to see him give a strange laugh and turn the soft whip into a myriad of whip shadows, each tip mimicking a venomous snake flicking its tongue.
As Bai Renfeng neared death, he forcefully gathered a mouthful of True Qi, hurling the Nine-Section Steel Whip from his waist.
The whip had cleverly concealed mechanisms between its sections, suddenly ejecting countless barbs, unleashing a trap from heaven and earth with his brother’s soft whip.
Shi Feiyang’s pupils contracted sharply, fully deploying the Bright Jade Technique, his icy blue True Qi forming a three-zhang frost shield around him.
The two whips struck the shield, ringing out like clashing metal, sparks flying, and a web-like crack spreading across the shield’s surface.
In the nick of time, Shi Feiyang pressed his toes against the ground, soaring upward like a hawk.
He flipped mid-air, deploying the "Heaven and Earth Shared Longevity," an ultimate move from the "Hundred Victories Saber Technique," with seven streams of golden saber aura descending in the form of the Beidou constellation.
Bai Renfeng wielded his whip to block, but the soft whip was instantly shredded, and the iron thistles were forcefully repelled, three embedding into his own shoulder.
He let out a gruesome howl, spitting a mouthful of black blood, yet used the force of this rebound to shoot toward the skylight of the Scripture Pavilion’s top floor like an arrow.
Would Shi Feiyang allow him to escape? With the mysterious lightweight technique "After finishing, wipe the clothes and leave," his garments billowed like sails as he pursued to mid-air in the blink of an eye. His palms thrust forward in the "Heaven’s Edge" move of the "Hundred Victories Saber Technique," unleashing a golden saber light that pierced the night sky.
In desperation, Bai Renfeng tore off his severed arm, aiming the wound at Shi Feiyang.
Black blood shot out like poisoned arrows, immediately spreading a nauseating sweet, bloody scent in the air.
Shi Feiyang waved his sleeve to form a shield, instantly freezing the poisonous blood with his icy blue True Qi.
Seizing the moment as Bai Renfeng’s old force waned and new force hadn’t yet arisen, he combined his palms, releasing the "Sun Moon Twin Glory," two massive golden saber shadows merging into a vortex-like saber aura resembling twin fish of yin and yang.
Bai Renfeng let out an inhuman scream, the half-length soft whip in his hand turning into flowing light yet shattering inch by inch upon touching the saber aura.
Where the saber aura passed, blood rained down. Bai Renfeng’s body was shredded into segments, stumpy limbs falling like meteors, splattering blood blossoms on the stone steps of the Scripture Pavilion. When Shi Feiyang landed, his dark suit was already stained deep red, yet the icy blue True Qi continued to circulate around him, shaking off all the poisonous blood splashed on him. In the distance, synchronized footsteps sounded as the Shaolin Eighteen Bronze Men Array was poised for action.
Shi Feiyang swept his gaze across the ravaged Scripture Pavilion, picking up a scroll stained with fresh blood from the pool of blood.
Under the moonlight, he identified the three characters "Yi Jin Jing" on the cover, prominently stamped with the nine-fingered mark of Beggar Gang Leader Zhong Renwang.
Shi Feiyang couldn’t help but furrow his brow; it seemed that Zhong Renwang’s recent rapid increase in power was linked to secretly learning the "Yi Jin Jing" from the Shaolin Scripture Pavilion.
Upon receiving Shi Feiyang’s urgent report, the leaders of the Shaolin and Wudang sects, aside from repeatedly thanking Shi Feiyang, held emergency consultations overnight, setting up intricate mechanisms across various corners of the Martial Arts assembly, standing ready.
The centuries-old ginkgo had long shed its golden attire, with sparse residual snow clinging to its twisted branches, trembling slightly in the cold wind.
In the Zen Room behind the Great Hall, the scent of sandalwood curled upward, imbuing warmth. The hundred-year-old Master Yuan Chi, clad in a crimson robe, was seated cross-legged on a meditation cushion, his face benevolent, with eyes that conveyed serenity and wisdom accumulated through the passage of time.
Shi Feiyang entered the Zen Room, and upon seeing his mentor, a wave of warmth surged through him, causing the corners of his eyes to dampen slightly. He tidied his attire, respectfully performing a formal bow, "Master!" His voice full of the excitement and joy of a long-awaited reunion.
Master Yuan Chi slowly opened his eyes, a glimmer flashing through the murky depths, as he smiled contentedly at his beloved student, raising his right hand gently to signal Shi Feiyang to stand, "Feiyang, rise quickly."
The voice was somewhat aged, yet still steady and strong. Shi Feiyang stood and moved to his mentor’s side, scrutinizing his master’s face closely, noting the new wrinkles at the corners of his eyes, and his heart filled with pain.
Master Yuan Chi observed Shi Feiyang, noting his increasingly upright posture, the more determined look in his eyes, his movements more composed and magnanimous, feeling very pleased. "Feiyang, I have heard of your deeds in recent days, and I am utterly gratified. Conquering the Five Poison Sect and Celestial Demon Sect, alleviating the salt crisis troubling the northwest people, such deeds truly are immeasurable merit!" After speaking, he clasped his hands together in prayer, uttering "Amitabha Buddha."
Shi Feiyang bowed slightly, his expression humble, "Master flatters me. I merely did what little I could for the common people of the world. I deeply understand that the fate of the country and the world is intertwined. When the northwest was hit by a salt crisis, the people suffered horribly without enough to eat or wear. I could not bear to see such misery, so I decided to lend a hand. Everything I did was to ensure the world enjoys more peace and less suffering." His words were filled with compassion and responsibility for the masses.
