Kill The Old Ones!
Chapter 235: Omega Good Job, Daughter!
--
Lily sighed as she stood before the door of her father’s room.
It was locked, but she could hear the faint sniffles behind it. She rolled her eyes in exasperation before gripping the doorknob tightly and pushing chakra to it to lift the lock.
She entered the room only to find her father sitting in the far corner of his office, wrapped in a thick wool blanket, emitting a forlorn and miserable aura while sobbing faintly with his back turned to her.
"Leave me be...my baby girl is gone! Stolen! By some unknown deviant and scoundrel! I am hurt!"
Lily released a suffering groan of embarrassment. She thanked the gods that the shadow elites were hiding in her shadows and that they were trained to ignore certain things.
"Dad, please, stop being dramatic. It’s unbecoming, really."
"Easy for you to say!!" He yelled, already standing in indignation before she saw it. "I am hurt, child! You told me, you promised me that marriage comes first! But you can come home like this! And you won’t even tell me his name! How could you!? I thought we trusted each other!"
"I told you to wait," she responded, crossing her arms. "He will be coming here to personally introduce himself, he promised me. You’ll eventually know who he is by then, so stop being dramatic and just wait."
Richard pouted like a kid before plopping into his chair. His feigned teary expression was gone; now he’s just sulking.
"I don’t understand why there’s a need for secrecy. It’s not like you got yourself a criminal...you didn’t, right?"
"He’s not a criminal, Dad. Far from it," Lily sighed and eased his worries. "Just...wait, okay? You’ll eventually know him. He’ll come here. He promised, and I believe him."
Lily feels slightly guilty for this.
His father has been like this since she returned a few days ago. She knew the moment he held her that he would notice; he always inspects her to make sure she’s healthy and well; every caring parent does so, and she knew that he would notice the loss of her virginity.
Richard’s inspection doesn’t need to be invasive to know that. His scans never have to touch any of her private parts to know that. There are ways to know; Lily herself could do the same. It’s not surprising; that’s why she told Ren that her father will know.
As expected, he almost blew his top when he realized it. But then, he realized that she’s a grown-up, that she’s a woman now, that his baby girl was no more, and he’s just sad and melancholic about that.
Now, he’s just being annoying because she always finds him like this every day that passes without him seeing Ren. But what can she do? Ren told her to wait, so she will wait.
’Mistress, he’s here.’
A shadow elite whispered to her mind. Lily stiffened and nearly cursed. Ren didn’t tell her that he was coming today.
She sighed and left her father to sulk. She made sure to not hurry because he would get suspicious.
When she was far enough from his office, Lily hurriedly took out a mirror to check her appearance. She was feeling a bit frantic as she obsessively searched for any ugliness in her face she could cover with a slight retouch.
She checked her clothes, smelled herself, and made sure that she was presentable. She wanted to curse Ren for not warning her of his arrival and not giving her time to prepare, but it’s too late for that now.
When she finally arrived at the gates, which opened before her, her breath hitched as she saw the man waiting there.
He was tall and leaning on a sleek, shiny, and futuristic-looking motorbike. His head wore the hood of his sleeveless yellow hoodie, which slightly hid his face. He was wearing baggy pants and rubber shoes. His thick and muscular arms were exposed, but it was missing the dense tribal tattoos on them. It didn’t surprise her; she could sense the disguise hiding them.
"Let him in; I know him," she told the guards, who obeyed her orders.
The man lifted his head, saw her, and flashed her that familiar grin that made her heart race.
She watched as his bike disappeared out of thin air, possibly returning to his inventory. He passed through the gate with confident steps and paused in front of her.
Before he could even say anything or open his arms, Lily already found herself burying her face in his chest with her arms wrapped around his midsection.
She deeply inhaled his grounding and manly scent, sighing at the way it just centered her mind.
"Well, I’m happy to see you, too, beautiful."
She briefly saw the disguise melting from his arms, revealing the tribal tattoos that mark his aberrant physique. And his large and strong arms wrapped around her body protectively and affectionately. She also felt him planting a kiss on her head.
"You should’ve told me you were coming today. I still haven’t showered." She huffed and pouted.
"But you did." He chuckled, his voice rumbling in his chest. "You always do, first thing in the morning. That’s your routine."
"I could’ve gone a second time if I knew you were coming today...and picked a better dress."
"You look beautiful and perfect in anything you wear, love. You don’t have to worry about that with me. I like you as you are."
Lily hid her face, feeling shy about his compliments, but her heart swelled with affection from her affirmations.
She then felt his hands lifting her face. She was a bit blinded by his sunny smile and felt flutters in her stomach when he kissed her forehead.
He then looked in her eyes and asked, "I think we should talk to your father. I’ve delayed this long enough; I want to make this official."
Lily could just fly with how light and safe she felt. All she could do was meekly nod and go with whatever he wanted.
Hell, he could convince her to run away with him and she’d follow him without so much of a thought.
She finds this ridiculous, by the way. She had fought hard and tough to get her own freedom. She thought that she had been traumatized by men and would have difficulties accepting another into her life, yet here she was, swooning and losing her sanity with one.
’Gosh, Lily...aren’t you being too easy? ’She berated herself. But then, she sighed.
In the end, she can’t help it. She can’t fight this attraction at all. And the more he takes charge and showers her with affection, the more she finds herself falling for him.

Richard knew that he was being ridiculous and dramatic...
He had known for a while that things around the Heartveil Clan had...changed. The changes eluded him in the beginning because they were inane and because he was distracted, but given time, he did notice.
The elders, his cousins, and his detractors, the people that usually obstructed him, made him feel like the walls of the room were closing in on him, and the ones pushing him to the brink of insanity had stopped.
Not instantly. Slowly and methodically. They did it in a way that wasn’t obvious at first and in a manner that, by the time he realized it, he could only make peace with.
And he did. Richard did make peace with that.
He didn’t know what exactly transpired, but he knew in his gut that his daughter had something to do with it, and she did it when he was indisposed after collapsing from his injuries—which had been cured, by the way, and he had never felt better ever since.
Richard doesn’t care how Lily did it, if she indeed did it. All he cared about was that the Heartveils were at peace, the clan was improving tremendously, and it was safe from harm, as was his daughter—most importantly her.
These changes are what allowed him to let loose and be ridiculous and dramatic. In a way, this is how he’s fixing his relationship with her.
But Lily has grown up.
She’s no longer a poor scared girl burdened with too much pressure and responsibilities. She’s a grown woman now and has become so strong that it left him in awe.
And apparently, she’s grown enough to find herself a man.
Said man is now sitting before him with his back straight and oozing with confidence befitting his name and reputation.
"It is nice to finally meet you, Sir," he said with his deep voice. "My name is Soren Marek Vire. I am from the Banished Arms Clan of Central City."
"It would sound silly for me to ask for permission to date your daughter, given that we have gone too far already, but I would most definitely appreciate if you could give us your blessing, nevertheless. I promise you that I will cherish and protect her with my life."
Richard’s eyes widened imperceptibly as he gave her daughter a quick glance and finally understood why she was insistent on keeping his identity a secret.
’Holy crap! What a catch! Omega good job, daughter! ’
Richard cleared his throat and said:
"Let’s discuss the wedding, shall we?"
"DAD!!"
