Junior Sister, I Really Have to Control You
Chapter 61 - 38: Daoist Magical Treasure, White Rainbow Sword
Chapter 61: Chapter 38: Daoist Magical Treasure, White Rainbow Sword
"Although its spirituality possesses no real sentience, it contains a record of my application of the Yin Yang Light-Splitting Sword. It will automatically guide and correct you as you practice your sword techniques."
Li Yinsheng’s eyes lit up. However, recalling his Martial Uncle’s previous words, he asked, "Martial Uncle, based on what you’re saying, is that no longer possible?"
"A lifebound treasure requires constant nourishment from its master," Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said with a bitter smile. "Do I look like I’m still capable of nourishing the White Rainbow Sword? Its spirituality has long since gone dormant."
"Then... can it be revived?" Li Yinsheng asked, clinging to a sliver of hope.
"Reviving it isn’t difficult. Spirituality is hard to nurture, but it isn’t easy for it to naturally dissipate either. As long as the nourishment of the White Rainbow Sword is resumed, its spirituality will revive within a few days," Junior Martial Uncle Jiang replied.
"In that case..." Li Yinsheng said thoughtfully. "Can a lifebound treasure only be nourished by its master?"
"Not necessarily. It’s just that if someone else helps nourish it, it won’t be as smooth and natural as when the master does it, and the effects will be somewhat diminished," Junior Martial Uncle Jiang explained.
Li Yinsheng pondered for a moment before saying earnestly, "Martial Uncle, may I see the White Rainbow Sword?"
Junior Martial Uncle Jiang nodded. She brought two fingers together, tapped the center of her brow, and slightly parted her lips. A crystal-clear white light, about an inch long, flew out from her mouth and landed in her palm.
Li Yinsheng looked down. A pocket-sized sword, seemingly carved from white jade and measuring only an inch long, lay in his Martial Uncle’s palm.
The small sword looked exceedingly beautiful and exquisite. However, after the initial crystal-clear white light faded, its overall appearance became dull and lacklustre, looking more like a piece of white stone. Furthermore, it was covered in fine, dense cracks. The cracks were so densely packed that, at first glance, one might mistake it for a black sword.
"This is Bai Hong. Although I can summon it, well... you can see its current state. Its spirituality is dormant, and it is severely damaged," Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said with a bitter smile.
"Is it really alright for it to be this badly damaged?" Li Yinsheng looked at the small sword in her palm, his face filled with concern. The object looked as though the slightest touch would shatter it into countless pieces.
"Its power is vastly diminished," Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said, shaking her head, "but it isn’t quite at the point of being completely destroyed."
"Martial Uncle, can I... hold it?" Li Yinsheng asked.
Junior Martial Uncle Jiang nodded and handed over the White Rainbow Sword.
Li Yinsheng took it carefully, his movements gentler than if he were touching a fragile bubble. He then tentatively infused a trace of magical power into it.
Instantly, the White Rainbow Sword was like parched desert sand meeting water, eagerly absorbing that trace of magical power until nothing remained. Li Yinsheng infused a bit more magical power, and the White Rainbow Sword instantly sucked it dry again. Slightly relieved, he began to steadily increase his magical power bit by bit, and the White Rainbow Sword accepted all of it without hesitation.
In the blink of an eye, under Junior Martial Uncle Jiang’s dumbfounded gaze, the one-inch, pocket-sized White Rainbow Sword in Li Yinsheng’s palm began to grow.
One inch, two inches, three inches...
One foot, two feet...
Moments later, a three-foot-long white jade long sword, still covered in cracks but having regained a warm, lustrous sheen on its surface, lay quietly in Li Yinsheng’s hands.
"Hmm... as expected, the magical power of the Qingxuan Scripture is balanced and peaceful. Although I’m not your master, you really like my magical power."
Li Yinsheng held up the White Rainbow Sword with both hands. As magical power continuously poured into it, a faint smile appeared on his lips. He could now subtly sense the spirituality within it. Although it hadn’t fully revived, it had greatly improved. He estimated that it would only take a few days of light nourishment.
"Yin Sheng... you..."
Junior Martial Uncle Jiang finally snapped back to her senses. Her lips trembled as her gaze darted back and forth between her lifebound treasure and Li Yinsheng’s face.
Only a Daoist could utilize a magical treasure, and naturally, only a Daoist could nourish one.
"I apologize, Martial Uncle. I didn’t have time to tell you earlier," Li Yinsheng said. "When I was cultivating, I suddenly experienced an epiphany where everything naturally fell into place. And then... I think I must have become a Daoist."
"Only a Daoist can utilize and nourish a magical treasure, so of course you are... are..."
Halfway through her sentence, Junior Martial Uncle Jiang clutched her chest, her breathing suddenly becoming rapid. Li Yinsheng hurriedly grasped one of her hands and infused magical power into her body to smooth out her energy meridians.
A moment later, Junior Martial Uncle Jiang’s breathing settled, but an excited flush rose on her cheeks.
"Yin Sheng, you..." Her eyes sparkled brightly. "Could you... step out for a moment? My... my eyes are a bit sore... I want to wipe them by myself."
"How embarrassing. Jiang Ningzhi, you’ve never cried since you started cultivating. How is it that you’ve cried twice in just a few short days?" she silently cursed herself.
Li Yinsheng nodded and turned to leave.
"Wait..." Junior Martial Uncle Jiang said softly. "Yin Sheng, leave the White Rainbow Sword here too. I want to... touch it..."
Li Yinsheng gently placed the White Rainbow Sword by the bedside and turned to leave.
Two hours later.
Li Yinsheng, having supervised his junior sister’s cultivation for quite some time, returned to his Martial Uncle’s room.
This time, the rims of her eyes were only slightly red, and the White Rainbow Sword had been placed by her side. Seeing Li Yinsheng enter, she pursed her lips, an irrepressible smile in her eyes.
"Martial Uncle," Li Yinsheng greeted.
"Yin Sheng, I..." She paused to organize her thoughts. "Since you are already a Daoist, just forget about what I said earlier regarding the Shifeng Conference and the White Rainbow Sword."
Li Yinsheng’s eyes instantly widened. "How can I forget? Martial Uncle, aren’t you just letting me get happy over nothing?"
"Who told you not to tell me sooner that you were a Daoist? You deserve it!" Junior Martial Uncle Jiang playfully scolded.
"Now that you are a Daoist, practicing magic will be effortless. You can no longer be compared to ordinary mortals," Junior Martial Uncle Jiang explained, shaking her head. "The Shifeng Spirit Charm and the spiritual guidance of the White Rainbow Sword will be of no use to you.
"If my White Rainbow Sword could be repaired and its spirituality completely restored, it might be of some help to you. But even so, it would be nothing more than icing on the cake.
"Even if it is repaired, rather than relying on it to guide you in your sword techniques, you’d be better off directly using it for magical combat."
"So that’s how it is. Then it’s fine," Li Yinsheng breathed a sigh of relief and smiled. "I didn’t plan to use this White Rainbow Sword for myself anyway."
"Not for yourself?" Junior Martial Uncle Jiang paused in surprise, a sudden ominous premonition washing over her. "Then what do you want to do with it?"
"I plan to give it to Junior Sister Mu. Her aptitude is slightly lacking, so she needs the assistance more. It doesn’t matter if it’s of no use to me, as long as it helps her," Li Yinsheng explained with an earnest and candid expression.
Junior Martial Uncle Jiang’s eyes widened instantly as she stared blankly at Li Yinsheng.
"You! You want to take my magical treasure! My lifebound treasure! And give it to that little girl!" she screamed internally.
