Journey to Become the Zenith
Chapter 491: The Fight Victor Desired [Part 2]
The Fight Victor Desired [Part 2]
A metallic taste filled Victor’s mouth.
His muscles screamed in protest.
Every part of his body was telling him to stop.
Victor ignored all of it.
He swallowed the pain and kept his eyes locked on Fean.
Instead of backing away, he stepped forward.
His fist tightened.
Mana surged through his arm like a raging current. Zenith Aura gathered around his body, wrapping him in a dense layer of power.
Victor took a breath.
Then he punched.
Boom!
His fist finally connected with Fean’s face.
The impact exploded through the cave.
A violent shockwave swept across the stone walls, kicking up dust and sending loose rocks skittering across the ground.
For the first time since the battle had begun, Victor had landed a clean hit.
Fean’s head shifted slightly from the force.
Victor’s eyes widened for the briefest moment.
He had put everything into that punch.
Everything he had left.
That was the strongest attack he could produce right now.
For a moment, Victor waited.
Then the dust slowly began to settle.
His expression changed.
There was almost no damage.
A tiny mark was visible on Fean’s face.
A shallow scratch.
That was all.
Victor stared at it.
Then he stared at Fean.
The possessed man was still standing exactly where he had been.
His expression hadn’t changed.
There wasn’t even a hint of pain in his eyes.
The wound was so insignificant that it almost looked ridiculous.
Victor looked down at his own fist.
His knuckles trembled slightly.
Then his gaze returned to Fean.
The difference was absurd.
Victor had taken the full force of Fean’s attacks.
Every blow had felt as though it was tearing his body apart from the inside.
His bones ached.
His muscles burned.
Even breathing hurt.
Yet his strongest punch had done nothing more than leave a scratch.
By any reasonable measure, this exchange had been completely one-sided.
Victor should have been worried.
He should have retreated.
At the very least, he should have reconsidered fighting someone who was clearly stronger than him.
Instead...
The corner of Victor’s mouth slowly lifted.
A grin spread across his face.
It wasn’t a confident smile.
It wasn’t the smile of someone who believed he had already won.
It was something far more reckless.
Something almost vicious.
Victor wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand.
His golden eyes never left Fean.
"Come on."
His voice was quiet.
Almost casual.
Fean’s eyes narrowed.
Then he attacked again.
There was no warning.
His body blurred forward.
Victor’s grin widened.
He stepped into the attack instead of away from it.
The two figures collided once more.
Boom!
The shockwave swept through the cave.
The walls trembled.
Dust fell from the ceiling.
The cave had already been cut in half from the destruction surrounding them, and now the remaining structure began to shake violently beneath the repeated impacts.
Every collision sent ripples through the stone.
Every exchange produced another burst of force.
Victor attacked.
Fean attacked.
Neither stopped.
There was no elegant exchange of techniques.
No measured rhythm.
It was simply an overwhelming battle of speed, strength, instinct, and endurance.
Victor’s fist struck Fean.
Fean’s attack struck Victor.
Victor was pushed back.
He immediately returned.
The possessed Fean continued his relentless assault as though he couldn’t feel fatigue.
Victor, meanwhile, continued fighting with that same vicious smile.
Pain spread throughout his body.
His breathing became rough.
His muscles burned.
Yet his eyes remained full of excitement.
This was the kind of battle he had been waiting for.
A battle where he couldn’t simply rely on overwhelming his opponent.
A battle where every second demanded his full concentration.
A battle where the difference between life and death could be decided by a single mistake.
Victor didn’t know how long he could continue.
He didn’t know how the battle would end.
But he knew one thing.
He didn’t want it to stop.
Another tremendous impact shook the cave.
Victor was forced backward.
The possessed Fean continued his relentless assault as though he couldn’t feel fatigue.
A large chunk of stone broke loose from the damaged ceiling.
It came crashing down toward Evelyne.
Evelyne immediately raised her sword.
Her eyes sharpened.
Slash!
She swung her blade, cutting the falling debris apart before it could reach her.
Several pieces of stone scattered across the ground.
She didn’t even have time to look at them.
Her attention immediately returned to Victor.
More debris began falling as the battle continued.
The cave simply couldn’t withstand the pressure being released by the two fighters.
Another massive fragment broke loose.
This time, it fell toward Diana.
Diana didn’t even flinch.
Her red eyes flickered.
Mana gathered around her.
The debris abruptly changed direction, pushed aside by an invisible force before it could touch her.
The stone crashed several meters away.
Diana continued watching Victor.
She could see that he was being pushed to his limit.
She could also see the expression on his face.
That smile.
That unmistakable excitement.
Diana understood.
Victor wasn’t fighting simply because he had to.
He was enjoying himself.
Even when the exchange clearly favored Fean, Victor refused to surrender the joy he found in the battle.
Another explosion erupted.
The cave shook once again.
Victor’s fist and Fean’s attack collided.
The resulting shockwave spread outward, throwing dust and fragments of stone in every direction.
Evelyne cut through another piece of debris that came toward her.
Diana pushed another aside with her mana.
And in the center of the destruction, Victor and Fean continued their brutal exchange.
The damage dealt and damage received was not in Victor’s favor.
Not even close.
Yet Victor continued to fight with that vicious smile of his.
The attacks of the two were making the cave they were in that was already cut in half shake by the shockwaves of each attack.
Evelyne cut any debris that fell her way, while Diana pushed the debris that fell onto her using mana.
