It's Perfectly Normal for my Slime to beat up a Dragon, Right?

Ch. 222 - Is This Thing Really a Contract Spirit?

  • Next Chapter

The security guard immediately spoke up: "No way! I haven't received any notice!"

This guy was obviously a thug. If he let him in again, the entire First High would never know peace.

Besides, didn't he just demolish their school last semester?

"Sir..."

Chen Shu was about to sweet-talk his way in, but Fang Si walked right over before he could.

She held up a silver armband and said: "Dragon Guard."

The instant those two words hit the guard's ears, his mind shook violently, his eyes filling with shock.

"D... Dragon Guard?"

His jaw dropped open, like he'd been struck stupid.

After a long moment, he snapped back to reality. Without a shred of hesitation, he opened the gate.

As for whether it was real or fake -- he didn't need to doubt it at all.

Anyone who dared to forge one would rot in prison until they wore through the floor.

That was also why everyone had been so shocked when Chen Shu talked about making a fake armband back then.

"It works that well?"

Chen Shu hadn't expected a single armband to be this effective.

Looks like he'd have to get Wang Xuanyang to hook him up with one. Worst case, he'd give up the 11 million.

The two headed straight for the Beast Taming Arena. Chen Shu had only been here once, but he already knew the way like the back of his hand.

Meanwhile, inside First High's Beast Taming Arena.

"Everyone! The Beast Taming Competition is about to begin!"

The Beast Taming Class's homeroom teacher, Wang Feng, spoke up: "I've decided to make Jiang Tian the team captain, with Wen Yu and Lin Zixuan as team members. Any objections?"

Since it was a team competition, they had to consider not just individual strength, but also the coordination between each person's Contract Spirits.

"Since nobody has any objections, then it's settled--"

"I object!"

Right at that moment, the arena doors swung open, and two people strolled in leisurely.

The instant they saw the boy, the entire Beast Taming Class narrowed their eyes, the shadows of the past surging back.

Back then, Chen Shu had kicked off an all-out brawl and single-handedly demolished the Special Training Class with just one Slime.

That scene -- they'd probably never forget it for the rest of their lives.

"You? Chen Shu?!"

Teacher Wang Feng recognized him too. A student this ferocious was a first for him, so naturally the impression ran deep.

"This is Nanjiang First High! What the hell are you doing here?! Get lost!"

Wang Feng recalled the humiliation from last time -- and on top of that, he'd lost twenty High-Grade Beast Orbs to this kid.

Fang Si's expression remained composed as she said: "Teacher, don't be in such a rush. Let my little brother finish what he has to say."

Wang Feng scoffed coldly: "Who do you think you are?!"

In that instant, the space in front of him shattered open, and two terrifying dragon heads emerged, rumbling with low, continuous growls.

"Holy shit! Two dragon-type Contract Spirits?!"

Wang Feng's expression jolted. He studied her face -- and it clicked instantly.

Fang Si, from three years ago?!

His mind trembled. He hadn't expected her second Contract Spirit to also be an S-rank dragon-type.

So two generations of bandits had joined forces? And they were this close?

Unease crept into his heart. These two weren't going to demolish First High, were they...

"Old Wang, don't be so hasty. I came here to say something!"

Chen Shu crossed his arms. With Fang Si standing right beside him, he was completely fearless. He spoke:

"My advice -- give up on the Beast Taming Competition. Because... I'll be participating!"

The moment those words left his mouth, the Special Training Class exploded.

"The fuck? You think this is still last semester? That was only because you had a level advantage! Now we're all on even footing -- you really think a Slime can turn the world upside down?"

"Never seen someone this arrogant! You wanna back that up? Get on the stage!!"

"I've been waiting to get my revenge -- let me go first!"

Seeing how fired up everyone was getting, Chen Shu said calmly:

"Old rules. All of you against just me."

In an instant, every pair of eyes locked onto him with fury. They felt humiliated on the spot.

"I alone am sufficient!"

Jiang Tian spoke up and sauntered out slowly -- the one and only compulsive poser himself, Jiang Tian, owner of the Storm Thunder Bird!

When is your actual strength ever going to match your posturing ability?

Chen Shu sighed internally. I can posture because I've got the goods to back it up.

This guy's got nothing -- so how the hell is his posturing even smoother than mine?

"I was careless last time. Today, you will lose!"

Jiang Tian's expression was composed, not a trace of panic, but his eyes burned with desire -- he wanted to avenge his previous disgrace.

"Then let's find out!"

Chen Shu summoned the Golden Slime.

A terrifying body a full thirty meters across materialized instantly. The arena floor shuddered.

The moment everyone saw it, the Beast Taming Arena went dead silent. You could've heard a pin drop.

"Uh..."

Every single mouth hung open. Every single face was blank with shock -- even Wang Feng was no exception.

They'd seen big Contract Spirits before. But they'd never seen one THIS big.

"Goo-jii!"

The Golden Slime yawned, gazing down at the crowd from above, still adorably dopey as ever.

"Hey, show-off! Weren't you going to fight me one-on-one? Let me see what your Storm Thunder Bird can do!"

Chen Shu looked at the stunned Jiang Tian, his face full of amusement.

He just loved watching other people's brains blue-screen.

Otherwise, what was the point of all that training?

The Nanjiang Bandit's Contract Spirit never played by the rules!

"Hmph! This person dares to challenge our entire class? Classmates -- then let's grant his wish!"

Jiang Tian's face twisted with fury as he shouted: "Everyone -- all of us, attack together!"

"..."

Chen Shu's lips curled. Your face-changing speed isn't half bad.

Jiang Tian paid him no mind. Internally, he was drowning in tidal waves of shock.

A thirty-meter monster? Fight THAT? He'd get absolutely steamrolled, okay?!

"All of you, together!"

Homeroom teacher Wang Feng gave the same order.

With a body this terrifying, no single Contract Spirit could possibly break through its defense.

In an instant, twenty Contract Spirits appeared, roaring nonstop.

The Slime's eyes closed shut as it activated Sleep-Kill, sending its own defense skyrocketing.

"Goo-jii!"

The Slime struck first, using its crowd-control skill to stun the Contract Spirits in front of it for a brief moment.

At the same time, it leaped into the air -- and sat its ass directly on top of three Contract Spirits.

"AHHH!"

Bloodcurdling screams erupted instantly. Just hearing them was enough to send chills down your spine.

"Recall them, quick!"

Wang Feng immediately called out a warning. If those spirits got sat on any longer, they were going to die.

The three owners frantically nodded, snapping back to their senses and carefully approaching to recall their Contract Spirits into their Beast Spaces.

Chen Shu didn't pay them any attention. He focused on controlling his Contract Spirit in battle.

Even by the second semester of senior year, Level 9 Beast Tamers were still a minority.

First High's Special Training Class had only five people at Level 9.

Those five Level 9 Contract Spirits joined forces. Despite the fear gnawing at them, they had no choice but to grit their teeth and charge forward!

"Goo-jii!"

The Golden Slime's gaze swept over. Its eyes took on that constipated look -- and it activated Charge.

In that instant, it was like an entire mountain peak slamming forward. The terrifying force made every Contract Spirit's blood run cold.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The Contract Spirits on the ground panicked. Not only was this thing massive -- it was fast as hell, too.

Its Charge level was just too high, perfectly compensating for its weakness in speed.

"AHHH!"

Every Contract Spirit screamed in agony. The lighter injuries were broken tendons and shattered bones. The heavier ones were knocked out cold.

The people below sank into a long, deep silence. They'd already begun questioning their entire existence.

Was this thing really a Contract Spirit? Are you sure it's not some kind of alien?
