Ever since Liu Bo entered the Taixue Sect, he had been captured by a group of Demon Cultivators.

He had spent a considerable amount of time in the Taixue Sect and even obtained a mental method.

At first, Liu Bo pretended to be an idiot, but after a while, he began to act progressively smarter.

Not too smart, though. Just smart enough to understand basic conversation.

That big idiot, Ali, followed Liu Bo around every day until some heavily injured Demon Cultivators showed up at their den a while back.

Liu Bo didn’t know the details, only that it had something to do with some Royal Family and was also related to Xuanwu City.

Then, he was sent to Xuanwu City by Duan Wunian, the old, white-bearded man from the Human Clan among the Demon Cultivators.

Only then did Liu Bo realize that the Demon Cultivators actually had their own shop in Xuanwu City.

They had blended into the city.

But it was just an inconspicuous little shop that sold Elixir Pills.

Liu Bo had been sent not only to watch over this small shop but also to retrieve something for the Demon Cultivators.

Liu Bo didn’t know the specifics yet. The time hadn’t come.

After all the trouble he’d gone through to get to Xuanwu City, finding out there was another player here—and his good friend at that—made Liu Bo ecstatic.

Liu Bo: [Bro, you have no idea what I’ve been through!]

In order to survive among the Demon Cultivators, he had to play the fool most of the time.

He even ate leaves from the trees with that big idiot Ali.

He’d done everything short of eating shit!

He had finally managed to get Duan Wunian to let him out, but it wasn’t with complete trust.

Zhen Weida glanced around. "Bro, Xuanwu City’s protective Array is active here. No one can hear us talk. Don’t waste your points."

Liu Bo: [I can’t. That old man placed a Forbidden Curse on me. I can’t say anything about my time with the Demon Cultivators, but sending you messages isn’t affected by the curse.]

He couldn’t speak about it to others, nor could anyone probe his thoughts.

—But he could chat through the System.

Zhen Weida: "..."

In disbelief, he beckoned Liu Bo over.

Once he was inside, Zhen Weida asked, "Where have you been all this time? Why didn’t you reply to my messages before?"

Liu Bo: [I couldn’t reply before. I had no points, and I was being watched too closely. I had to spend some real money to get some points.]

And to think, Liu Bo had planned on playing this game for free.

He never expected such a bad start.

Now, just to talk to Zhen Weida, he had to exchange for some points to send messages.

Besides, the whole affair had been too humiliating. Liu Bo couldn’t bring himself to talk about his time acting like an idiot for the Demon Cultivators.

Zhen Weida: "What happened? How did you end up with the Demon Cultivators? Damn, dude, that’s awesome! Did you stumble onto a hidden questline?"

Liu Bo: [What hidden questline? I just had bad luck when I spawned and got captured by Demon Cultivators.]

Zhen Weida: "That’s still something! What do you mean, ’bad luck’? The fact you were captured by Demon Cultivators and are still alive is incredibly good luck! From what we’ve heard, they’re so vicious, wouldn’t they have sliced you up and roasted you?"

Liu Bo got goosebumps and shuddered before continuing to type: [The Demon Cultivators aren’t that vicious.]

The clan Ali belonged to just seemed a bit dim-witted.

Whether they ate people was another question, but they were certainly good at cursing people out.

Zhen Weida gave him a sidelong glance. "We’re the Human Clan. You join the Demon Cultivators for a bit and now you’re a traitor to humanity?"

Liu Bo looked at him, speechless.

Zhen Weida immediately grinned and clapped him on the shoulder. "It’s fine, I was just kidding. What are you doing here in Xuanwu City now?"

Liu Bo: [I’m a clerk in a shop, pretty much like you. I’m waiting for the right time to grab something for them. A little while ago, a few what looked like high-Level clans showed up among the Demon Cultivators. I’ll call you and tell you about it when I log off.]

Zhen Weida nodded. "Alright. Since you’re here, we’re brothers. Can’t say I mistreated you. Here, take these two Second Order Blood Replenishing Pills."

Liu Bo reached out, took them, and was about to stuff them into his Jiezidai when Zhen Weida continued, "That’ll be one low-grade spirit stone."

Liu Bo: [You son of a bitch!]

Zhen Weida: "Heh heh, just kidding, just kidding. Look at you, getting worked up again!"

Liu Bo rolled his eyes.

After securing the items, he sent a message to Zhen Weida.

Liu Bo: [I can’t stay long. I’m not sure if any Demon Cultivators are watching me. I’m heading back first.]

Zhen Weida nodded. "Alright."

Just as Liu Bo left, a female cultivator dressed in white and wearing a felt hat walked into Zhen Weida’s shop.

The long veil under the hat was clearly transparent, yet strangely, you couldn’t make out the female cultivator’s face.

Zhen Weida knew this was definitely someone capable and immediately adopted a serious tone. "Welcome, customer. What would you like to purchase or exchange for?"

Currently, their shop offered both exchanges and purchases.

Purchases involved using Spirit Stones to buy common items or specialty goods from the Longevity Sect.

The players knew that if certain specialty goods appeared in two places at once, people would eventually find it strange.

So, they had specifically tailored a batch of specialty products for Xuanwu City.

Better items, however, had to be exchanged for with materials.

Who would have thought that she would present something so valuable right from the start.

"I have a Fourth-Rank spirit material here, with Dragon Breath Spirit."

As she spoke, she waved her hand, and a Fourth-Rank spirit material appeared in it.

It was a fragrant flower.

There was only the bloom, exceptionally vibrant, its aroma assailing the senses.

Just one whiff of it was enough to make one feel intoxicated.

Zhen Weida had crammed a lot of relevant knowledge before coming, and his eyes widened when he saw it. "A Fourth-Rank Holy Dew Flower?"

This was a rare material used to refine Spirit Beast Elixirs.

If this elixir was given to a Fourth-rank Spiritual Beast about to give birth, there was a chance it could produce a Fifth-Rank spiritual beast right from birth!

The Holy Dew Flower was one of the most crucial primary ingredients.

Zhen Weida was very tempted, but he remained impassive. "What would the customer like to exchange for it?"

This thing was good, but Immortal Splendor Hall had just opened. They might not have anything good enough for the female cultivator to exchange it for.

A soft chuckle seemed to escape from under the felt hat. "I will leave this flower here temporarily in exchange for two of your top-grade spirit stones. When I return in half a month, I will use two top-grade spirit stones and fifty Mid-grade Spirit Stones to retrieve it. If I don’t return, this Holy Dew Flower is yours. How about it?"

It was a very good deal.

Because a Holy Dew Flower itself was a rarity, and one imbued with Dragon Breath Spirit was even rarer.

Even two top-grade spirit stones would be a bargain for it.

And for that very reason, Zhen Weida suspected a trick.

The System suddenly spoke up: "Fine. Agree to her terms, but tell her it will cost three top-grade spirit stones to get it back."

Zhen Weida immediately said, "Alright. But the retrieval price will be three top-grade spirit stones. This is for the risk we’re taking."

The female cultivator paused for a moment.

She seemed surprised that Zhen Weida had agreed so readily.

Then she nodded. "Fine."

So, she left the Holy Dew Flower, and Zhen Weida took out two top-grade spirit stones from the Sect’s inventory and gave them to her.

As the female cultivator was leaving, she glanced back once before departing from Immortal Splendor Hall.

Zhen Weida asked curiously, "What was that about?"

System: "It’s a trick. There’s a curse on it. If you had accepted that flower, it would have vanished by tomorrow."

Zhen Weida nearly jumped. "Holy shit! Cultivators pull this kind of crap these days? That’s truly disheartening! So what do we do?"

System: "But if you put it in the Sect’s warehouse, it can’t disappear."

It had been able to sever the connection between the Black Demon Seal and Lü Rufeng, so blocking a simple Forbidden Curse would be a piece of cake.

Trying to pull a fast one on the System? In their dreams!
