Chapter 140: Chapter 140: The Dungeon Ends

Shi Zhile reached the mountain peak and released all the players from the Breeding Space.

The sun was high in the sky. The seawater receded, completely revealing the Primitive Forest.

The island was covered in rocks and broken logs piled up in the mud. After releasing Shi Zhiyi and the others from her space, Shi Zhile began to gather various supplies on the island.

The afternoon passed in a flash. As night fell, the players began to wake up one after another.

Looking at the devastated island, many of them scratched their heads, trying hard to recall the details from before the tsunami hit.

"Before the tsunami, I remember Uncle Wei had us all hold hands and form a circle. Then, it’s like I suddenly appeared in a white fog, and after that, I can’t remember anything."

"My head’s a little dizzy, but at least we’re alive. Is this still the same island? The trees are snapped, and there’s mud everywhere."

"My clothes are dry, and my hair is too. Before we entered the white fog, Uncle Wei said he was taking us out of the instance. It seems we entered some other space."

"See? I said listening to the top players would keep us safe, but some people just had to argue back then."

"Bullshit! The ’top player’ you were talking about was clearly Shi Zhile, but it was Uncle Wei who made sure we survived."

"How can you be so sure it was Uncle Wei? What if it was Shi Zhile?"

"If it wasn’t Uncle Wei, then it was Jiang Yuxing. Don’t forget, Jiang Yuxing is number one on the leaderboard. As the top player on the supply leaderboard, he must have a lot of treasures."

Shi Zhile hid in a secluded spot, a smile spreading across her face as she listened to most people turn their attention to Wei Zhan and Jiang Yuxing.

She opened a Teleportation Gate and returned to Stone Island.

In just three or four days, thanks to the hard work of the primitives, the once-barren Stone Island now had several small wooden huts. Dried fish and seaweed were laid out to dry in front of the houses. Despite the scorching heat, the island felt much more alive.

Seeing Shi Zhile appear, a small primitive child toddled over and offered her the half-eaten piece of fish in his hand. "Eat!"

Shi Zhile reached out and ruffled his soft hair, then handed him a lollipop she had gotten from a treasure chest.

By the time Mo Ze and the others returned from fishing, Shi Zhile had already managed to tease the little child to tears.

She gave the lollipop back to the child, successfully making him laugh again.

"The tsunami has just passed and the water has receded. There’s a lot of mud on the island, so now is the perfect time to rebuild your home. Do you want to go back and take a look?"

Mo Ze nodded. "Yes. A few of us will go back and see. No matter how dirty or messy it is, it’s still our home."

Remembering the quest in the survival prompt, Shi Zhile had him gather a group of fifty people and took them back to the Primitive Forest.

As the group appeared on the island in the Primitive Forest, the system voice, which had been silent for a long time, finally sounded.

[Survival Prompt: Congratulations to all players for successfully completing Instance Quest One: Survive any single natural disaster with the primitives (tribe population survival count exceeds 50 people).

Please help the primitives restore their tribal cave within 24 hours. Upon successful completion of the quest, players may return to the game on their own.]

The busy players on the island fell silent for a moment, then erupted into excited screams.

"AH! We did it! We successfully cleared the new instance!"

"Thank you to all the top players for carrying us to an easy win!"

Mo Ze and the others were confused. "What’s wrong with them?"

Shi Zhile replied, "The tsunami came, and they soaked in the seawater for too long. Their brains are waterlogged."

Wei Zhan counted everyone, took out a whistle, and blew it, instantly cutting off the roaring crowd.

"Everyone heard that! We have one more quest before we can leave the instance: clean out the cave. The system has given us a time limit. We’ve struggled so hard to survive until now, and no one wants to fail at the last second.

Let’s get busy! If you have a shovel, grab your shovel. If you don’t, use cloth bags to move the mud we dig out somewhere else."

"I have a shovel! I’ll clear the mud in the cave."

"I have one too! Me too!"

"Let’s all work hard! We didn’t face much danger in this instance, but we’ve stockpiled plenty of food. As long as we get out, we won’t have to worry about eating or drinking."

All the players took out various tools and began digging out the mud, coordinating with each other.

Some used shovels, others used rakes, and some even took out rice ladles.

A night breeze swept across the island, adding a touch of coolness to the hot summer.

The 24-hour countdown ended, and the players left the instance.

On Stone Island, Shi Zhile, Mr. Wen, and Wang Peng stood in the sun. The scorching sunlight passed through the Energy Shield and beat down on them, bringing waves of burning pain.

Seeing the three of them standing in the sun, Mo Ya, who was sitting inside a wooden hut, quickly waved them over. "Zhile, come inside, quick! The sun is scorching hot right now."

The three of them immediately ran inside. The wooden hut wasn’t large. Besides Mo Ya, there were four or five other tribe members, all of them young women.

Hearing the voices, a few more women ran over from the neighboring hut.

Wang Peng carefully observed his surroundings and asked curiously, "This is Stone Island, right? Why are the primitives here too?"

Shi Zhile said, "They came to escape the tsunami."

Wang Peng said, "Oh," then summoned his interface and started typing something.

Shi Zhile glanced over and saw that the recipient was Jiang Yuxing.

Just as she was squinting to read the contents, Mo Ya moved closer to Shi Zhile and asked in a low voice, "Why isn’t Jiang Yuxing here?"

Jiang Yuxing?

’So she’s still thinking about him.’

’The primitives are indeed simple, but there’s no guarantee they won’t cause trouble.’ Shi Zhile mentally decided on a time to send them all back.

"He’s on his own island. To be precise, where we’re from, everyone has their own island, and we don’t interfere with each other."

Mo Ya asked, "Then why are Wang Peng and Elder Wen here?"

"Their islands were damaged, so they’re staying with me temporarily. By the way, the disaster in the Primitive Forest is over. Your brother and a few others are the only ones on the island now. This evening, when it’s cooler, we can all gather and discuss a time for you to go back."

This time, another woman spoke up before Mo Ya could, standing up excitedly.

"Is the disaster really over? Master Witch, we don’t have to wait until evening. We all want to go back now."

"Yes, Master Witch! If we go back sooner, we can start rebuilding the tribe sooner."

"The tribe has faced disasters before. After the last one, many people were injured by falling trees, and the tribe was completely destroyed. We want to go back."

"I’ll go get the others!"

A little girl skipped out of the room.

Mo Ya’s face was conflicted, but she spoke as if she’d made up her mind. "Master Witch, can we stay for a few more days?"

The woman looked at her disapprovingly. "Mo Ya, we need to go back to the tribe to help Mo Ze and the others. They have very little food. If we don’t go back, they’ll have nothing to eat."

"But..."

The little girl came skipping back, followed by many other tribe members.

The hut was full, so they stood outside.

"Master Witch, you said the disaster is over and we can go back. Is that true?"

"Master Witch, we want to go back to our tribe!"

"Master Witch..."

The voices were a jumble, and all that could be heard was a rising and falling chorus of "Master Witch."

Shi Zhile raised her hand, and everyone instantly fell silent.
