Chapter 511:

Isekai Yururi Kikou ~Raising Children While Being an Adventurer~

To the Dungeon

"I want to pop into the dungeon real quick to get some alcohol."

"“... Alcohol?”"

Since we're in Bailey, I figured we should take the opportunity to visit the Dungeon of Ripples and stock up on brandy.

When I told the kids about it, they made it very clear from their faces that they didn’t like the idea.

"If you don't want to come, you can stay here. I'll just dash in and grab it myself real quick."

"“No waaay~”"

The brandy springs are on the twenty-eighth floor, so if I descend from the final floor—the thirtieth—it should be a smooth round trip... or so I thought.

Looks like the kids want to go into the dungeon itself. Figures.

"Alright then... How about we go from the twentieth floor to the final floor? I’d like to restock on Little Kraken legs too."

Last time, when we defeated the boss, Little Kraken, its severed legs remained behind.

They were delicious, so if possible, I’d like to get more.

"How about it?"

"“Let’s gooo~!”"

Luring them with delicious food worked like a charm—Allen and Elena were totally hooked.

And with that, we headed to the Dungeon of Ripples.

"So many peooople~"

"It's suuuper crowded~"

"You're right~"

In front of the dungeon—or more precisely, in the underwater tunnel leading to the dungeon—there was a massive crowd.

"Allen, Elena, be careful not to bump into anyone in the water, okay?"

"“Okaaay~”"

Since we all have merfolk bracelets, we don't have to worry about running out of breath even with a long wait underwater. So we slipped right into the dungeon without issue.

"Looks like about half the people are using the teleporters?"

Roughly half of the crowd moves onward to the first floor, while the other half uses the teleportation devices to jump to the tenth floor.

I did a bit of listening in before we came and gathered that hardly anyone has reached the twentieth floor yet, so if we teleport there, we probably won’t run into many adventurers.

"... That said."

"“They’re staring at us~”"

"Yeah. But it can't be helped."

This dungeon isn’t the kind of place you come to just for fun, not even just to peek at the entrance. So kids like mine here?

Definitely going to draw attention.

The adventurers in the main hall are all staring at us.

Using the teleporter while under their gazes isn’t ideal, but it’s not like we can wait for no one to be around. We'll just have to go through with it.

"Hey, look! They’re heading for the teleportation device!"

"Maybe they just want to take a look, not actually use it?"

"Either way, isn’t it weird to bring kids into a dungeon like this?"

I could hear the adventurers whispering as they watched us.

"Wait a sec! Wasn’t the adventurer who discovered this dungeon supposed to have kids with him!?"

"Oh, right! I remember hearing that!"

"Me too! So then... that’s him?"

"Hey, just 'cause he has kids doesn’t mean it’s him."

"Still, how many adventurers do you see dragging kids around like that?"

Though the kingdom kept the discoverer of the dungeon anonymous, thanks to a certain incident at the Adventurers’ Guild, some people found out it was us.

Guess rumors have started to spread.

"Alright, let’s go."

"“Okay~”"

If we actually vanish using the teleportation device, the adventurers watching us might start making a fuss...

Well, it’s not like I’ll see it happen. No point worrying about it.

"Twentieth floooor!"

"We have arrived!"

"Looks like no other adventurers are around."

Despite all the progress adventurers are making, it seems almost no one can teleport to the twentieth floor yet.

"This should be fine."

(Oh, a teleportation device! That means this is a dungeon!)

(My, my, I wonder which dungeon it is?)

(It's hard to tell from just the teleportation room~)

(I got it! It’s the Large Animals Dungeon!)

(No, I think it’s the Dungeon of Ripples!)

(Yay~ Radian’s ready to gooo~)

Since there was no one else around, I immediately summoned my contracted beasts, and they realized right away we were inside a dungeon.

"Mile got it right! This is the Dungeon of Ripples."

(Yaaay!)

(Aw, too bad. I was wrong~)

Mile, thrilled at being right, climbed up onto Vector’s head and struck a proud pose like she was saying, “See that?”

(Oniichan, since we’re in the teleportation room, it’s either the tenth or twentieth floor, right? Which one is it?)

"It’s the twentieth. Everyone, don’t forget to wear your merfolk bracelets. Starting from the twenty-first floor, the corridors will be filled with water up to about my knees. Joule, I’m counting on you to watch over the kids again."

(Oh, that place! Leave it to me!)

(That’ll be a bit tricky for Radian. Allen and Elena can ride on Joule and me, and Radian can take turns on our backs.)

(Got it~)

"Yeah, Radian would struggle there. Joule, Feat, I’m counting on you."

While I was making sure the kids’ formation was set, I noticed Vector looking a little down.

(... Water, huh~)

"Vector, if you don’t want to go, you can stay in the shadows."

(It’s fine! I’ve got the magic tool, so I won’t get wet! I know that, but... I still kinda feel gloomy~)

Vector hates water, so I told him not to push himself, but it looks like he’ll manage.

"Since there’s a risk of electrocution, Bolt, avoid using lightning magic as much as possible."

(Understood. I’ll be careful.)

(I’m good right here!)

With Bolt and Mile perched on my shoulders and everything ready, we set off for the twenty-first floor.

(Waaah~ So much water~)

Radian, riding Joule’s back with Allen, was bouncing with excitement at the new surroundings.

"Go, Jouuule!"

"Feat, don’t lose~!"

(Go Joule! Go Feat! You got this~!)

(Oho, looks like I’ll have to go all out!)

(My my, I guess I’d better not let you down~)

Joule and Feat exchanged glances at the kids’ cheers, then looked at me and nodded for some reason.

(Oniichan can we?)

(Niisama, is it alright?)

"... Uh, can you what?"

I didn’t know what they were asking permission for.

(Can we run full speed?)

(It’s fine! We’ll take down any monsters we run into along the way.)

… Seems they want to do a dungeon marathon.

"Isn’t running in this water dangerous? You’ll have a hard time picking up the loot too... Can we not?"

(We’ll find ways to defeat them so the drops don’t fall in the water! We’ll pick them up properly! Pleaaase~!)

"“(Please!)”"

When I said it might be too difficult, Joule immediately came up with a solution and pleaded even harder. And the kids joined in, backing him up.

"... Alright. Just for this floor."

(Thanks, Oniichan!)

(Thank you, Niisama!)

Joule and Feat hardly ever ask for anything.

Especially Feat, who’s always taking care of everyone—it’s hard to say no when she actually asks for something.

So I couldn’t refuse.

(Okay, we’ve got Oniichan’s permission! Let’s gooo!)

"“(Oh~!)”"

And so, the dungeon marathon began.

Joule and Feat dashed off carrying the kids, Vector scrambled after them, and I chased behind with Bolt and Mile on my shoulders.
