Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1223 - 1223: Sound of the bowstrings

[OP: ]

Rein’s innocent question had surprised the class and their teacher, a little intrigued by her affection for the damned creatures of war, gave them homework to find out more about the older times, the reason for the current use of the Aura would sealing method, as well as the creatures.

The wars of the older times weren’t some ancient history. If the students looked through the materials that they already had, they could very well find out more than enough about what their teacher had asked them.

If anything, they could get information about the things that they needed to know for their next few classes as well.

While it wasn’t his intention, Rein’s innocent question about the energy beasts led him in this direction and their class came to an end.

The students had some idea about the unique taste of their vice president, but they were still surprised when she called those creatures cute.

This wasn’t even the worst of the creatures that she found attractive. The homework that they got was something that she was going to take seriously and when she presents that in their next class, they were going to be more surprised.

“Weapons are not merely tools that you use to protect yourself or harm others. When you have been with them for long enough, an intangible bond is formed between you and that weapon.”

After their first class, they had the class for Geometric understanding of Wealth. A great merchant teacher, someone who stood among the wealthiest ones like the Golden Demoness and the emperor of Raxanna, was taking this class.

The class itself was interesting, but there wasn’t much fun in his classes as he focused mainly on the subject at hand instead of making the class fun like the other teachers do.

The students of (Class I) did not really like him much.

He was good at teaching and what he was doing, but compared to the other classes that they have, his methods weren’t as attractive to them as what they had learned about in their Economy and Currency classes last year.

“Pick up any of the weapons present before you and stand in a line of ten before the targets.”

The class following that, the class teaching them the subject Weapons as companions, was something that they found interesting once again.

The teacher wasn’t the orc hero like their previous year for this practical subject. The teacher was a lady teacher, a Mage-knight.

“Lady Hyacine is looking as attractive as always.”

“Hey! Don’t say it out loud. She’ll hear!”

With her long pink hair flowing down her waist, with her deep blue eyes so sharp it reminded them of the eyes of their other practical class teachers, wearing full body armor, she stood with her sleek sword, attracting many of the students present.

While she wasn’t a knight that can use Aura, she was a knight whose entire battle style was centered around her magic.

Each spell that she used, the way she used her Mana, as well as the connection that she had with her weapons was something that could not be compared to something that the usual knights had.

She was special in many ways. She was a half-elf with mostly human features. Being a mage blessed by Mana, the high purity mana that she carried with her was far greater than many of the high mages.

She had fought in many wars throughout her life, but what made her special and an academy teacher wasn’t her strength and experience but her innate understanding of weapons.

[{ “She was called a genius in her time as well.” }]

Someone who could use many weapons and hear their voice.

Many found it strange. Weapons were tools to hurt and kill, something that was certainly inanimate, and yet she could understand them.

It was a strange thing, however, in the eyes of the Masters with great understanding of weapons, she was nothing less than an expert of her field.

Even within the academy, she taught the students how to form a bond with their weapons, how to take care of them, and how to deepen their relationship with these weapons so that they could have a greater understanding of these pieces, and how to correctly use them.

After their vice headmaster, she was perhaps the only person within the academy who could use more than a few dozen weapons proficiently.

It wasn’t easy, but the most difficult thing about this job was teaching the young students how even the simplest of the wooden weapons possessed an individual identity as great as that of the Divine weapons.

“Hold the weapons and try feeling them in your hands.

Close your eyes and feel the tip of your fingers.

Feel the sensation of holding the weapon and try connecting with the weapons in your hands.”

When she asked them to try and connect with the weapons, she was simply asking them to try it out before she actually taught them how to do it.

She wanted to see where they were right now and how they used weapons.

Mages holding their staffs and wands, knights holding their swords and shields, warriors holding their mace and gauntlets were present around her in this practical ground.

The indoor training ground that they all were familiar with, the place that all of them had been to many times already, was once again filled with training dummies that they needed to attack with their weapons.

This wasn’t their first class with this teacher so they already knew what they wanted them to do, so mages lifted their wands and fired spells at the training dummies while those who wielded weapons attacked the training dummies.

They surely tried feeling their weapons, but they still did not understand what their teacher meant when she asked them to connect with their weapons.

All they could do was to use their weapons and attack the training dummies as well as they could.

They had understood that the teacher praised those who made the loudest sounds with their weapons when attacking the dummies so they tried their best to land the most powerful strike that they could.

[{ “Haha, it’s always fun to watch this~.” }]

Those who understood their weapons like Rein and Captain Alpha were always the topic of conversation among their classmates.

They didn’t simply attack the near indestructible training dummies with their dummies, they practically destroyed those things, something that was impossible for most of them.

Some could put a dent in the dummies, some could put a slash on them. During their joint training session with some other classes previously, they were able to see how some others like Carla and Chry could actually do dangerous things to these dummies.

But none of them, none of the students among them had been praised by their teacher as much as a certain individual in the last few days.

“He surely is amazing.”

-Tring~!

He was an archer who used a bow. He didn’t use any arrows during these classes since none were present with the weapons.

All the other students who used a bow used their own arrows for this class, thinking that’s how they were supposed to do it, but not their student council president.

-Tring~! Tring~!

He did not use any of the arrows. With only his bow, without using any spells like he had done in the recent competition, he used a bow.

-Tring~! Tring~! Tring~!

Pulling the string of his bow back, his eyes closed, without using his Aura, with his strength alone, he created a gust of wind so strong that the other students never stood around him whenever he was doing this.

They were always afraid of getting caught up in the sharp winds that were created whenever he released his bowstring and getting hurt

-Tring~!

They could not understand what he was doing when he did that.

Using a skill, using some artifact, having an innate skill or Origin skill for this, they had come up with all kinds of possibilities for this.

They did not know how he was doing that, but there was something about the way he held his bow, the way he looked at the target lifelessly, the way he pulled his bowstring, the way he felt his weapon… there was something about all of this that made him different from the rest of them.

-Tring~! Tring~!

The sound of his bowstring was different from the rest of them.

Even though he was using the weapon without any Aura, he could make winds that were far stronger than any of them and even without hitting the target, he was being praised by the attractive teacher.

They did not understand the reasoning behind it, but the ones who were actually serious about their weapons and had eyes to see beyond what was present before them knew very well what Eon was doing with His weapon…

-Tring~! Tring~! Tring~!

Every time he pulled the bowstring back, he was imbuing his will into the simple string.

The entire wooden body of the bow was strengthened when he simply held the weapon.

He had great experience handling his weapon. He understood what their teacher was asking and was able to perform a strike that impressed her.

“That’s it.”

“Even after seeing it so many times, I still don’t understand it.”

“Is it like this? Hmmm… no.”

Those who were inspired by his display tried harder instead of giving up.

They held their weapons more firmly. They focused on the weapon instead of themselves.

Some tried to imitate his form and breathing but their teacher stopped them, saying that wasn’t it.

It wasn’t even their personal classes, and yet, every time they were in this class, the class where they learned how to befriend their weapons, they were learning something different.

It wasn’t just about weapons but something deeper.

Something that only a few of them will be able to understand even after graduating from the academy…
