Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer

Chapter 1118 The unwanted serious talk

[Eon’s POV: ]

“You’re too selfish, you know?”

She was done crying now. She had thought about it for a while– for thirty three minutes– and now she knew there was no point in convincing me.

I had many things I needed to look after and she was still going to be one of my priorities. There is no way I would stop looking after her among all the other things I have to look after, so she had no choice but to give up the thoughts of carrying her own burdens for the time being.

“I know. Well, didn’t you know that from the start though. I mean, you’re the one I’m in love with. There’s no way I would not be selfish about things related to you.”

She is precious to me. Anna is going to remain my top priority for a while, at least until she learns how to take care of herself and her powers and finds people that she can be with.

Rein, on the other hand, will be right behind her in my list of priorities… after which comes the family, the world, and then things I have to take care of by myself.

“Even the extraction experiment we did on the empty island, you know? It was because of my selfishness that we continued with it till the end.”

Now that we have some time to ourselves, it is finally time to talk about the things that we have been avoiding for the last few days.

‘The matters regarding the demonic cultists, the matters regarding our future plans, the matters regarding the legacies that we hold, the matters regarding the divine powers that aren’t our own.

The matters regarding what we are going to do with these powers or about these powers.

The matters regarding the Lifeblood that we have created and the impact that it would have on the world, plus, the matters regarding the new things that I have learned about me and my master.

‘Lastly, we still need to talk about the evil gods that almost killed all of us back then and the ones that would come after us.’

I know for a fact that if they are coming after us, they would inevitably come after our families, and then after Anna and Zoe as well.

“It is because of my selfishness that I will prioritise Anna over the others… and if I have to choose between you, Anna, Zoe, or the rest of our family members, I would try and save all of them.”

What we are dealing with here are certainly divine beings possessing powers to obliterate any of us. But then again, we aren’t really as weak as we seem. At least, our families aren’t.

“We have a little more time before we actually face the gods so let’s not think much about them for the time being.” Petting her head once again, and knowing well she was not fine yet, I continued with a hopeful tone.

“The headmaster will look into the matters regarding those gods, and also in the matters regarding the Lifeblood.”

We might have needed to worry about our families if those gods knew about our current locations, but since they do not know where we are right now, they would search all over the world first before going after our families.

“We have to learn how to use these new powers before we go back. That should be our first priority.”

There were a few things I learned about my master from the two special clips that were unlocked after I awakened the stigma as well as the ability to finally summon Roanna.

‘Yeah. I can actually call out my soul armament now however, only when using the Stigma’s powers.’

Still, I don’t think we would need something like that unless we are fighting something on a higher level than the puppets of the gods we were fighting.

‘The stigma’s powers alone should be enough to burn away the puppets since the divinity of the Stigma overwhelms the fragmented divinity that the puppets have.’

The headmaster was not using even half of his powers when he was fighting those puppets. The restrictions that were placed on him were not all lifted, the main restriction was still there.

Even if he wanted to, he knew he could not use all of his powers, especially his illusion spells when we were there since it would adversely affect us and leave us with permanent damage. And he did not want that.

He did not need all of his powers against those beings either.

‘He is the strongest wizard of this world. The powers that he possessed already overwhelmed that of the original gods controlling those puppets.’

He was not a divine entity like them but he did not need to be one either. He was in fact ‘originally’ restricting himself from growing any more than his current self since if he does that and ascends to the uncharted territories of magic and Nature, he would not be the Headmaster anymore.

And there was still a lot that he needed to do so, he could not leave his position as the headmaster. At least, not until he finds someone that could take his position… and there was one that could take over the academy after him.

‘And it was up to me to prepare her for that position.’

It is not going to be easy for either of us. First we would have to finish the academics while gaining recognition for our achievements, then do things that would spread our names around the world, and when she’s ready, she would have to go into this cruel world by herself to apply all the things that she would learn with us.

I don’t know if I will be with her by the time she becomes eligible for that position or not, I don’t know what will happen to us in the future either.

But if I want to make what I want a reality, our time here is going to be very important.

“Rein.”

We will now sort out how we are going to do things from now on. Tonight, we will plan a few things, schedule a few things, and look after a few floors together for a better understanding of the tower.

She will have to be by herself for a while when I am working as well so I will have to assign someone to her as well… perhaps Zoe could help her, but she also has her own things to do.

“Do you remember I told you my master used to be a part of the empire a few thousand years back?”

The first memory fragment that Lucy and I saw, the one that was unlocked when I saw Rein awakening her eyes, I was bombarded with all kinds of things related to skills and divinity.

While I did not know before, I understood what Divinity truly meant now, what the Legacies were, as well as how the world used to be a completely different place from how it is today only a few thousand years back.

The memory fragment was pretty much an info dump that the master suggested I look through on my own… and then there was the second clip showing who, what, and where she was throughout a Few of her lives.

“It turns out the master not only helped establish the island of magic’s wealth and the academy, she was also the one that practically built the Roxanna empire.”

My master had many names, my grandma… She was the teacher of the founders of the great academy, she was the advisor of the first emperor of the Roxanna, she was the liberator of the world dominated by demonic beings.

And we aren’t even talking about things that she had done too far back into the past.

“Of the twenty thousand years of her life, she had spent a lot with the humans, only spending a little over a millennium in this place, building this tower.”

She was old. One of the oldest that had ever lived, actually. And her actual age was something she herself did not quite understand due to the unique meaning of time in different worlds.

“My master had lived in multiple realms throughout her life and had connections with multiple beings. She could see the past and the future at will, could control elements as if controlling Mana, and while she was not the only one that could use Solnova, she was the only one who possessed the Silver flames that I used accidentally.”

The Silver flames.

The Silver flames of the only Saint even the world tried erasing the existence of.

“Technically, she was not some hero or someone the world wanted the future generations to know about, so they erased any record that existed of her…”

She helped them do it actually, but there were different circumstances at that time. Things were so complicated that the memory fragment did not mention them either.

Still, I know how important she was to the world and how grand her powers were.

And now…

“When she gave me her Stigma, she did not just give me her flames or one or two [Core Authorities] that she possessed.

She gave me all the powers that she possessed, including all her divine authorities as well as her achievements.”

They were mine to use if I could. And, from what I felt back then, I’m pretty sure I can use at least a few of those powers.

But, that’s not really a good thing.

“If… if you could use those powers… then does that mean…”

Rein did not need much time to know what this implied.

As well as to understand just how complicated this actually could become for all of us now that the headmaster and even the gods had seen those flames.
