The results of his grandpa’s assessment were out and they revealed something unique about him that even he did not know about…
“I always had an affinity for these things or does this show how much affinity for something I possess right now?”
“It’s the current one. They cannot be from some specific time in the past since these affinities are something close to experiences one has obtained.”
To put it in simpler words, these experiences had become something close to an affinity that helped them with these tasks naturally.
“While it does not show what affinity you gained in chronological order, an affinity for something is going to be present in oneself even after they leave that task.”
It’s like an experience. One can know how to sail a ship, but even after they do not do it for a very long time, they would still have an affinity for that task.
However, one cannot say for certain whether they possessed the affinity beforehand or whether they obtained it later on through this method.
If they have an affinity for something right now, they might have obtained it along the way, or perhaps they possessed it already.
The affinities that one possesses already are something that increases with time as they do that task.
By that logic, his grandfather always possessed an affinity for Aura, weapon arts, and an affinity for leading others.
“Being from a pirate family, I can understand the affinity for leadership but we do not usually use weapons in particular much less Aura, but I always possessed it. Now isn’t that surprising…?”
His grandpa, Zahavi, the golden hammer of Heliox, was a hero who had contributed immensely to the bloody wars a few decades ago.
He had saved countless lives both on the waters of the empire and on the ground.
He had fought with the heroes that held great positions all around the empire, and yet, being from a humble and notorious background, he did not think there would come a time when he learned he always possessed the qualities of a knight… that this wasn’t just a turn of fate but his destiny.
“It’s surprising however I see it.”
He moved away from the crystal and the next in line, his elder aunt, placed her hand on the crystal.
He had learned something unique just now, something that should have come as a great surprise to someone else, but to them, this was nothing more than simple news.
He was already in a position where he did not really care about the past, he was a family man who cared about the present of his family and his people more than what could have been or what was supposed to be.
These things are simply not something he needed to pay any attention to, so he moved on and the next person in line placed their hand on the crystal and after a moment, a list appeared on the crystal once again.
=> Communion: Affinity rank: S
=> Familiar connection: S
=> Null magic affinity: AA
=> Spatial magic affinity: C
=> Gardening: B+
=> Fragmentation arts: C
=> Destruction magic affinity: D
…
=> Swordsmanship: Affinity rank: D+
=> Non-elemental spirit bonding: Affinity rank: C
The information that was revealed this time, the list of affinities that she possessed was much longer than his grandfather.
There were affinities for all kinds of things. She was a null element mage, but unknown to her, she also possessed a high affinity for Spatial magic.
This was news that might just change how she used her magic, but at the same time, something else on the list had caught all their attention– the affinity for the non-elemental spirit bonding.
It was not the same as creating a contract with some kind of elemental spirit but it was closer to making a permanent bond with a non-elemental spirit, creatures that were far more rare than the elemental spirits.
There were very few in the world and they were close to the myths. They did not possess any elements, but they were not like the young and newborn spirits that had not found any of the elements that they were going to use.
These spirits, different from the natural spirits of the spirit realm, were beings born from the mortal realm, beings that used to belong to the mortal realm or were born from the memories of the objects that were of the mortal realm.
There were many names that these beings were known by, some of them were Dokabi, Bhoota, or Jinn. They were very unique kinds of spirits, but at the same time, very difficult to come across.
They possessed a high degree of intelligence that surpassed what the humans could know. Some were even smart enough to be messengers of the divine beings.
The angels that followed the original gods did not like these creatures for many reasons. They were not as strong as them and even though they did not possess any divinity or holiness themselves, they were able to freely travel anywhere they wanted thus having a close tie with the mortal as well as astral and cosmic worlds.
Even the gods coveted them, but learning that their elder aunt possessed an affinity for those creatures simply came as a surprise to all of them.
Still, this surprise was not as great as the surprise that hit them when Miss Monnem arrived before the crystal and placed her hand on it.
-Oooooooong!
The process this time took a little longer than it had. There was a unique reaction this time as well, and when the reaction was over, the list that appeared on the crystal was much smaller compared to the other two lists.

…
They had never known much about this person. She was a personal helper of Eon so they did not really question any of her abilities.
They had not seen just how much she could do with their own eyes since there was no need for that. They knew she was someone special since he chose her himself, but they did not know what special powers she possessed for him to choose her over anyone else in the world.
But now that they were seeing the short yet unbelievable affinity rank list, the talents, and abilities that she had refined, they pretty much understood the reason behind her being the only helper that Eon had around him.
“She has an absurdly strong affinity rank…”
“That aside, sister… Do you see how she has a high affinity for all kinds of magic and magic creation? And along with that, how does she have an affinity for witchcraft even though she is not a witch?”
Alf knew what the meaning of this could be… people who had a naturally high affinity for all kinds of magical things were called Wizards, like their headmaster, while those who could use Witchcraft, the world-bending ability unique only to them, were beings that people call Witches.
Those who possess both their qualities are the children born from the witches and wizards, those who despite their race, possess powers unique to the other races— the purebloods.
Along with these powers, they were also beings who possessed unique powers of their own, like Miss Moon here who had an unnatural affinity for Authority even though they had never felt it from her or seen her use it in any manner.
She was a normal person most of the time in their eyes. Her simple black hair and her even simpler dull blue eyes made her seem the most common being out there.
When she was at the academy, she almost seemed like Eon’s other forms’s elder sister. She wasn’t even that old so she did not seem much older than the rest of them.
The powers that she possessed though, were undeniably unique.
And, she was not the only one that possessed unique powers.

Taika had an affinity for many things, but the things that she had an affinity for differed from the others, from the humans around her.
She may look like them, but she was still not a human so the affinities that she had were pretty different from the others.
And still, from the looks of it, even if she had not met his father, she would have evolved into something human-like like her current form.
It may seem simple, but there was a profound reason she obtained this form over anything else. And perhaps, there was also some kind of innate relationship between this form and her affinity for human male ‘mages’.
She liked Eon’s father, but it might not just be because he was her master. And it was somewhat understandable to the rest of them.
“Next. President?”
There were still many of them left, but the process of the checking remained the same.
The things that they were going to learn about themselves, much like how the others before them have already shown, are going to be much more surprising than they think.
There could be things that they do not know about yet, there might be things that could make them stronger, and there might be things here that would change their lives forever…
If that happens, they would be thankful to Eon even more.
But even if that is not the case, they are going to learn something new or something unique about themselves. And, they simply could not help their excitement for that now…
