Invincible Young Master in the City

Chapter 2199 - 2195: Imprisoned by Illusions

  • Next Chapter

At this moment, Ye Fan was still in the illusory world, and he had not yet found a way to leave.

For him, the scene before him was very real, as if he were living on Earth, capable of evoking some memories, yet he still could not recall his past memories of Earth.

When that voice stopped appearing, he needed to find the way out on his own in this illusionary space, which was not easy for him. He had searched for an unknown amount of time in this illusionary space and still hadn’t found any flaws.

"...Why am I here? Could it be that a powerful person forcibly brought me here? How can I break free from her control?"

Ye Fan appeared confused. He wanted to escape from here but found it almost impossible as there were so many illusions in this space that he couldn’t break free from them.

After a while, Ye Fan seemed to hear some kind of sound, like a call from the depths of his heart. This call had a kind of inexplicable powerful attraction that resonated with something deep in his memory.

"Come out!" Ye Fan shouted within his heart. "I know you’ve been watching me, even trying to use my strength. If you have the guts, come out and fight me!" Ye Fan said arrogantly.

But no one responded to him, leaving Ye Fan somewhat frustrated. He wanted to find his ultimate way out, but the woman who had imprisoned him seemed not to appear anymore.

"Stop trying!" Another voice sounded in his mind, this time a man’s voice, seemingly different from the previous one, but speaking in a similar tone, which puzzled Ye Fan, "You’re just a lower being. What right do you have to challenge the one who created you?"

Ye Fan said, "Although I don’t remember many things from before, I know I have said the same to similar people before. No one can use the fact that they created me to threaten me or make me submit. It makes no sense. When you created me, you gave me subjective consciousness, allowing me to use my consciousness to do everything, including opposing you. In my worldview, everyone has self-awareness, and I don’t need anyone to oppress me with the status of a superior being!"

"Your tone is quite defiant, but you must know your cultivation level is far below ours. The only result of opposing us is death—a complete loss of your body and consciousness!" the man said.

Ye Fan sneered and said, "If you’re afraid of death and don’t strive for anything, that’s the saddest thing. I don’t think you have a guaranteed win; otherwise, you would kill me directly instead of imprisoning me in such a closed space... You people... who should I say aren’t really people, but some freaks? No matter how powerful you are, how can you justify your filthy hearts? I believe you will vie for your interests, even to the point of mutual destruction. What are you preaching in front of me? If you have the guts, come out and fight me. If I die, I won’t have any regrets!"

"Your tone is quite defiant. Should we kill him?" the man seemed to ask someone else.

But it seemed no one answered him. Ye Fan just looked at the void surrounding him, with a trace of bewilderment in his expression. He was using an almost twisted spiritual power to break free from this illusion but realized it seemed impossible for him to accomplish at the moment.

Suddenly, another man’s voice came: "Since we’ve already imprisoned him, why do more meaningless things? Why kill him? Using him to deal with the little ones in the universe is more interesting, isn’t it? Haha, it would be even more interesting if he died in this struggle too!"

"What are you trying to do?" Ye Fan shouted angrily, "If you have the guts, come out and see me. What’s the point of hiding? Presenting me with a world that feels fake, are you trying to deceive yourselves?"

The latter man said, "Who said this is a fake world? It all depends on how you see it. You’re already living in such a world, but you still broke free from it... To you, this world is just different from the environment you used to live in. You think it’s illusory, but I want to say it’s also a world we created, just like the one you live in. How can you judge which side is actually illusory?"

"You’ve said too much!" the former man seemed to remind him.

Soon after, neither of them spoke, as if they had severed the connection with Ye Fan, leaving him once again in a relatively lonely world.

Only then could Ye Fan calmly observe the world around him. He still noticed some clues. For instance, this world indeed seemed as those two men had said, with people having autonomous awareness, which meant that the people and things here truly existed, just happening in a universe parallel to Earth or even a few levels higher than the universe itself.

The people here could talk, even though their language wasn’t something Ye Fan could understand, but with his spiritual power, he could still perceive a bit, sensing what those people were actually communicating about.

The topics were all about trivial matters of everyday life, but it seemed these people couldn’t see Ye Fan, and the things they talked about were entirely unrelated to him.

"Why did they drop me into such a world? What are they trying to imply to me?" Ye Fan was filled with questions, contemplating how to leave here and what he was actually facing and how to understand what was before him.

But no one could help him. He was in a world close to solitude, able to see everyone, but everyone was unable to see him. It was a strange parallel world.

"Come out!" Ye Fan continued shouting, but no one answered him.

His strength seemed useless in this world. Ye Fan pondered in his heart, "Could it be that my power is too strong, and those people feel threatened by me, so they imprisoned me here because they know my power system can’t be exhibited in this world at all?"

At this moment, the initial woman’s voice came: "Ye Fan, the reason I brought you here is to have you fulfill your value, not to have you come over and ponder anything."

"Then what is my value?" Ye Fan asked sternly.

"Your value is to sacrifice yourself to change your universe. Are you willing to give your life for this?" the woman asked.

Ye Fan sneered and said, "That question is too naive and ridiculous, don’t even think about it!"
