Chapter 683 - 653: Re-entering the Poisonous Fog District

The convoy pulled to a stop before the group—twenty-five Armored Vehicles, each carrying two Mechas for a grand total of fifty.

Among them, including Lin Xinghai’s own Rare Level Mecha, there were a full six Rare Level Mechas. The rest were standard models.

But even for these standard Mechas, Little Fatty had rushed to have them modified. The Superpower Amplifiers, in particular, were all top-of-the-line.

Once the convoy stopped and the members of the Hongyu Group completed the handover, the members of the Xinghai Squad eagerly leaped into the Armored Vehicles to choose their Mechas.

"Boss, I’ll leave it to you to decide who gets to pilot these six Rare Level Mechas," Little Fatty said.

Lin Xinghai nodded. He didn’t make the assignments right away, however. First, he inspected both types of Mechas.

He found that regardless of the type, all the Mechas were equipped with the latest model of Superpower Amplifier, which guaranteed not only maximum amplification efficiency but also sufficient Stability.

He also noticed that while other parts of the Mechas hadn’t been significantly modified, all of the cockpits had been completely replaced.

Not only were the new cockpits tougher and offered better protection, but more importantly, their ejection systems were the fastest available.

This was a small but extremely effective detail.

After all, their hypothetical target was a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie. In a dangerous situation, escaping just 0.1 seconds sooner could mean the difference between life and death.

"Qian Xingxiu, Yuan Zheng, Qiu Liang, Jiang Zijin—you four can use these Rare Level Mechas," Lin Xinghai announced after a moment’s thought.

He didn’t choose Yan Feijie or Hong Xiuyuan because both of them possessed a Transformation Ability. When activated, it could only coat the Mecha’s exterior.

That might be useful under normal circumstances, but they were about to face a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie. Since close-quarters combat was out of the question, their abilities would be useless.

As for Qiu Liang and Jiang Zijin, the Rare Superpowers they wielded were Metal Storm and Absolute Zero, respectively.

Metal Storm was a Metal Element Rare Superpower with formidable Attack Power, while Absolute Zero was an Ice Superpower with exceptional control. Both would be highly effective against a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie.

None of them had any objections to Lin Xinghai’s assignments. But then Little Fatty, who was standing nearby, asked curiously, "Boss, there were five new Rare Level Mechas. Who’s going to use the last one?"

"Miaomiao," Lin Xinghai said with a smile. "Her Life Control Superpower can bypass Defense. Against a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie, the combined damage of everyone here probably wouldn’t even match hers."

Everyone’s eyes lit up at the news. If Liu Miaomiao was back, she would be a massive asset to them.

They all knew what Liu Miaomiao had been away for. Little Fatty immediately asked, his voice filled with excitement, "Boss, Miaomiao’s back? Does that mean she broke through to the Marrow Tempering Realm?"

"Yep." Lin Xinghai had nothing to hide, so he simply nodded.

Hearing his confirmation, the group was both overjoyed and a little envious.

Lin Xinghai told everyone to familiarize themselves with their Mechas while he opened his wrist-mounted computer and sent a message to Liu Miaomiao.

As long as she was back at the main base and connected to the network, she would get his message and come find him.

They didn’t have to wait long. Just ten minutes later, a graceful figure came rushing over from the distance.

Watching Liu Miaomiao approach him with a radiant smile, Lin Xinghai couldn’t resist pulling her straight into his arms. "How did it go? Was the trip successful?"

"Mhm! It went pretty well. I only ran into a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie once all afternoon. But the military had assigned two Divine Demon Realm experts to protect me, and they killed it quickly."

"They can unleash a Secret Technique with terrifyingly destructive power—the battle was over in just three minutes! Liu Miaomiao asked, her beautiful eyes sparkling.

"You’re amazing!" Liu Miaomiao was practically starting to worship Lin Xinghai.

Not wanting to waste any more time, the others quickly boarded their vehicles. The convoy sped away from the military’s main base, racing toward the distant, green Poisonous Fog District.

The convoy sped onward. Inside one of the Armored Vehicles, Lin Xinghai and Liu Miaomiao sat facing each other as he inquired about her current strength.

"My Life Control Superpower is twice as powerful as before. Plus, my total Superpower reserves have nearly tripled, which significantly increases my combat endurance," Liu Miaomiao answered.

"That’s good. By the way, when you broke through to the Marrow Tempering Realm, what did your total Blood Qi Power reach?" Lin Xinghai asked curiously.

"1,608 points of Blood Qi Power." A wide smile spread across Liu Miaomiao’s face as she said it.

This was certainly something to be happy about. After all, anyone with over 1,000 points of Blood Qi Power was considered an undisputed genius.

Reaching 1,500 points made you one of the absolute best among geniuses. Generally, only Special Class Students even had a chance of achieving that.

And even then, it was just a chance, not a guarantee. Many Special Class Students only had around 1,300 to 1,400 points of Blood Qi Power.

After all, once one’s total Blood Qi Power neared its limit, the difficulty of increasing it by a single point became immense. Liu Miaomiao had shattered that normal limit by a full 100 points, proving her talent was a cut above the rest.
