Invincible through Touching Corpses

Chapter 670 - 640: Conversation

Zuo Wenya was naturally surprised to hear that Lin Xinghai had developed another new Secret Technique.

Although developing simple Secret Techniques wasn’t as difficult as creating Martial Arts, it still required immense experience and knowledge to achieve.

Moreover, he had seen the Perception Secret Technique Lin Xinghai developed, called the Investigation Technique. While the Investigation Technique wasn’t overly complex, it was extremely ingenious.

It might not be of much use to experts of their caliber in the Divine Demon Realm, but its effects were very apparent for those at a lower Level.

This was especially true in areas with limited visibility, like the green Poisonous Fog Districts that had appeared, where its effects were immense.

But to Zuo Wenya, all of this was merely surprising.

The current gap in combat power between them and the Mutated Zombies couldn’t be solved by a single Secret Technique.

It would require a qualitative transformation.

Lin Xinghai observed the expression on Zuo Wenya’s face and, of course, knew what he was thinking. He had anticipated this reaction.

"Teacher, let’s talk inside," Lin Xinghai said, gesturing toward the room.

Zuo Wenya had no objection. Besides, he also wanted to know what Lin Xinghai had to say, so he followed him inside immediately.

The two sat down in the room, and Zuo Wenya was the first to speak. "Alright, whatever you want to say, just say it."

Lin Xinghai organized his thoughts for a moment before continuing, "Teacher, what do you think is the most troublesome ability of the Mutated Zombies?"

"Haha, so you’re testing me now. Well, there’s a widely accepted answer to your question. Although Mutated Zombies are powerful in every aspect, what gives us the biggest headache is their powerful damage resistance and terrifyingly potent Healing Ability."

"Why? Don’t tell me you have a solution?" Zuo Wenya said with a casual smile.

"Yes! My Secret Technique can increase your Attack Power. The cost is a bit high, but if it allows you to quickly break through their Defense and kill them, I think it’s worth it," Lin Xinghai said with a nod.

"You’ve never fought a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie, so you might not know how hard they are to kill. An injury that would be fatal to us humans is something they can endure as long as it doesn’t kill them instantly."

"On top of that, there are more Mutated Zombies than there are of us. The moment they realize they can’t win, they’ll roar for reinforcements, so the window of time we have is always extremely brief."

"And more importantly, our individual strength is still inferior to a Fourth Level Mutated Zombie’s. Under these circumstances, a Burst Secret Technique wouldn’t be very effective."

"To be honest, some Divine Demon Realm experts actually have Burst Secret Techniques, but they typically only provide a temporary 20% to 30% boost in combat power. The most powerful one I know of can only increase one’s Attack Power by 50% for two minutes."

"Before, when our strengths were evenly matched, such a Secret Technique could play a crucial role. But now, it can only briefly close the gap between us and the Mutated Zombies."

"Unless your Secret Technique can double our combat power, it’s honestly not much use," Zuo Wenya said, shaking his head.

Zuo Wenya had assumed that after hearing his words, Lin Xinghai would give up on that unrealistic idea.

But in reality, the expression on Lin Xinghai’s face didn’t change much. He just frowned in thought, as if calculating something.

Seeing this, Zuo Wenya’s heart leaped with a bit of anticipation.

’If Lin Xinghai can really produce a Secret Technique that doubles our combat power, even if it can’t solve the problem fundamentally, it would definitely be a huge help. At the very least, it would make it easier for us to withstand their attacks.’

However, after pondering for a moment, Lin Xinghai shook his head.

Seeing this, Zuo Wenya felt a pang of disappointment and couldn’t help but mock himself inwardly. ’I was getting way ahead of myself.’

’A Secret Technique of that caliber isn’t something that can be created so easily.’

The next moment, however, Lin Xinghai’s words made his eyes widen in an instant.

"It’s hard to say exactly how much combat power my self-created Secret Technique can increase, but it should be more than just double," Lin Xinghai said.

"How is that possible? What kind of Secret Technique did you create? What are its specific effects?" Zuo Wenya asked in quick succession, his heart beginning to pound with uncertainty.

"The specific effects are hard to describe. Why don’t I just give you a demonstration?"

As he spoke, Lin Xinghai casually picked up a nearby firearm. "Teacher, with your physical constitution, you should be able to withstand a bullet, right?"

Zuo Wenya stared at the Gauss Rifle Lin Xinghai had picked up, opened his mouth, and finally said, "Do you have some kind of misunderstanding about Divine Demon Realm experts?"

"We’re not like those Mutated Zombies. To block a Depleted Uranium Armor-Piercing Round like this, I’d have to fully activate my Divine Demon Body and supplement it with my Superpower. If I do that, you can forget about living in this room anymore."

Lin Xinghai had originally wanted to test the extent of his strongest firearm attack on Zuo Wenya to get the most accurate estimate.

But after hearing that, he had to give up the idea.

He coughed lightly, picked up the Tearing Rifle lying on the other side, removed the Armor-Piercing Bullets, and replaced them with regular ones.

"Teacher, you should be able to take this, right?" Lin Xinghai said.

"Mm," Zuo Wenya nodded, and a barrier of Blood Qi Power materialized on the surface of his body. By now, his curiosity had been completely piqued by Lin Xinghai, and he was eager to see what the young man was planning.

"Then I’m starting!" Lin Xinghai said, and began to infuse Blood Qi Power into the bullet.

To give a better demonstration, Lin Xinghai deliberately slowed down the speed at which he compressed the Blood Qi Power, maintaining a rate of infusing 100 points of Blood Qi Power per second.

At first, Zuo Wenya didn’t feel anything. However, after one second, then two, then three, a sense of danger began to creep into his mind.

He looked at the Tearing Rifle in Lin Xinghai’s hand with some disbelief. He was certain it was the same firearm the entire time.

He had, of course, also noticed by now that Lin Xinghai was continuously infusing Blood Qi Power into the firearm, and had already poured in over 300 points.

This was by no means a small amount, but Lin Xinghai still wasn’t finished. He continued to infuse it without stopping.

He finally stopped when the infused Blood Qi Power approached 600 points. By this time, Zuo Wenya could already feel a prickling sensation on his skin where he was being aimed at.

Even without taking the shot, he knew in an instant that the power of this single bullet had probably reached the level of the Divine Demon Realm.
