Chapter 941: Chapter 968: Shocking! Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin? (Second Update) Chapter 941: Chapter 968: Shocking! Nine Dragons Pulling a Coffin? (Second Update) Yang Zhen was suddenly crashed into by a ferocious creature, leaving him utterly disoriented. The problem was that he hadn’t yet discovered what exactly it was.
He hadn’t even gotten a clear look at what the opponent looked like. How was he supposed to cope with this?
The surroundings were pitch-black, and this was the first time Yang Zhen felt somewhat at a loss. The feeling of being powerful yet unable to exert that power made Yang Zhen want to curse.
Having strength but being unable to use it, that feeling of frustration was incredibly distressing.
However, not all was negative from the collision, at least the thick layer of ice that clung to him shattered upon impact.
Under intense pain, Yang Zhen took a deep breath and released all his spiritual consciousness. It didn’t take long before he caught a glimpse of a swiftly moving figure.
This figure was like a fish, but it didn’t have scales. Instead, it seemed to have a shell reminiscent of a knife’s sharpness. Its ferocious appearance was spine-chilling. It looked similar to a pangolin, except its tail wasn’t pointed but rather, it had a fish’s tail.
Dragon fish!
Yang Zhen could only use this name to describe the creature before him; it was the most fitting description within his limited vocabulary.
The creature looked to be at the early phase of the Celestial Phase in cultivation, but Yang Zhen dared not take any chances. In these dark waters, the dragon fish’s strength could very well burst forth, similar to Yang Zhen facing a Half-step Great Saint.
This was Yang Zhen’s first real fight for his life against a Half-step Great Saint. He hastily rummaged through his storage ring to find a dagger-like nine-star weapon.
It wasn’t that Yang Zhen didn’t want to use the Great Missing Sword, but that weapon was too cumbersome underwater. The resistance from the water was too great, making it hard to wield the sword effectively. A small, handy dagger was much more suitable.
As Yang Zhen braced for action, the dark waters surrounding the dragon fish began to spin rapidly, turning into a vortex that charged at him with terrifying force.
Seeing the terrifying speed at which the dragon fish burst forth, Yang Zhen laughed heartily. But as he opened his mouth, he suddenly remembered he was underwater and quickly closed his eyes after swallowing a few mouthfuls of water.
“The Sao Saint was prepared this time, do you think you, a little mud fish, could succeed?”
A thunderous torrent charged towards him, and the rockets beneath Yang Zhen’s feet suddenly exploded, timing as perfect as a national server summoner’s.
As the dragon fish neared him, Yang Zhen’s body had just barely dodged by moving aside, while the dagger in his hand slashed towards it.
If the dragon fish had continued to charge blindly, Yang Zhen could definitely leave it with several wounds.
Just then, the dragon fish abruptly stopped, and Yang Zhen’s eyes nearly popped out.
With that velocity, even Yang Zhen couldn’t stop instantly, yet this bastard unexpectedly changed the rules of the game, truly asking for a beating.
Yang Zhen’s strike missed, and he had to awkwardly execute a 360-degree spinning top maneuver to narrowly avoid the dragon fish’s attack.
As the dragon fish’s speed and maneuvers became faster and more elusive, Yang Zhen glared, “Damn it, you’re not done yet? You really think the Sao Saint is easy to bully?”
As he spoke, Yang Zhen’s hands violently started to spin, causing the surrounding dark waters to whirl into a terrifying torrential vortex.
You have strength, but unfortunately for you, the Sao Saint also has an endless supply of it.
At this level of exertion, Yang Zhen could keep it up for an entire day without even taking a breath.
Seeing the dragon fish staring blankly as if it didn’t understand what was happening, Yang Zhen laughed heartily, sending bubbles swirling around him.
He couldn’t drink any more water; god knows what this dark water was. If he drank too much and his organs froze into blocks of ice, that wouldn’t be good.
Yang Zhen quickly swam, with the rocket-like force never ceasing around him. The turbulent currents rocked the dragon fish unsteadily. You think you’re fast? Show me more speed if you think you’ve got it, the Sao Saint challenged.
Yang Zhen gave the dragon fish a triumphant wink, signaling a challenge.
The dragon fish’s eyes turned completely red.
“Fuck, you’re getting serious now?”
Yang Zhen’s eyes widened. If it was getting serious, he wasn’t afraid!
Just when Yang Zhen was about to speed up, the dragon fish suddenly let out a roar, and a terrifying torrent shot out from the dragon fish’s mouth towards Yang Zhen. Had Yang Zhen not turned quickly enough, he would have been hit and sent flying chaotically through the air.
After being attacked by this thing several times, Yang Zhen’s anger flared from the bottom of his heart, and with a shift in his expression, countless Yang Zhens appeared in front of the dragon fish.
Countless Yang Zhens stared down the dragon fish with an intense gaze, indistinguishable from reality, leaving no room to discern true from false, let alone for a fish.
The dragon fish, clearly never having seen such an array, let out a frightened squeal and turned to run.
Yang Zhen wouldn’t let this creature get away. Being able to survive in the dark waters, it was obviously not an ordinary living being, and whether he could obtain something valuable depended entirely on it.
The dragon fish ran ahead with countless Yang Zhens in relentless pursuit. A multitude of paddling Yang Zhens seemed quite formidable, scaring the dragon fish into not daring to stop and quickly reaching the place of light.
Upon arrival, the dragon fish burst out of the dark waters with a boom, and an unprepared Yang Zhen crashed in after it.
Below was a vast underground world, even murkier and more enigmatic than above, filled with a musty air. Wisps of verdant mist drifted about as Yang Zhen quickly shut off all his senses except for his eyes, which remained fixed on an enormous coffin before him.
This coffin was the most massive one Yang Zhen had ever seen, appearing to be several dozens of meters in size, with dragon and phoenix carvings shining brightly from numerous intricate patterns.
What shocked Yang Zhen was that the coffin seemed to be a giant bronze one.
Bronze again!
Atop the bronze coffin, countless thick bronze chains clattered in the air, with their ends connected to eight fearsome and massive skeletons.
The skeletons emitted a faint glow, and the terrifying aura emanated from them.
There were nine chains in total, but besides the eight skeletons, the last bronze chain seemed to have broken off, with no skeleton beside it.
Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin?
Yang Zhen’s eyes bulged in disbelief.
While still on the planet of Cerulean, Yang Zhen had heard legends of the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin. Regardless of their veracity, seeing it now gave him a visual shock that made it difficult for him to breathe.
At some point, the dragon fish had grown four legs and cautiously approached Yang Zhen. It nudged Yang Zhen’s leg with its nose that could knock a person down.
Yang Zhen jumped three feet in the air and, seeing no malice from the dragon fish, asked with a look of astonishment, “What are you trying to do?”
The dragon fish let out a mooing sound towards the bronze coffin, which Yang Zhen couldn’t understand, but he figured it had something to do with the coffin.
“You want me to open the coffin?”
Yang Zhen asked tentatively, staring intently at the dragon fish.
The dragon fish’s expression changed, and it shook its head frantically.
How Yang Zhen could tell the dragon fish’s expression had changed was beyond anyone, but feeling it, he knew opening the coffin was decisively out of the question.
Even the dragon fish seemed weary of the coffin, and if Yang Zhen were to open it, he surely wouldn’t be able to handle what was inside.
“Then what exactly do you mean?”
Yang Zhen asked again, and suddenly his expression hardened as his gaze fell on a piece of a bronze chain around the dragon fish’s neck.
“Are you… asking me to chain you up?”
Yang Zhen himself found the question somewhat absurd, but it was clear that the dragon fish was associated with those eight creatures, though why it was still full of vigor when the others had perished was a curiosity.
What puzzled Yang Zhen was, why would the dragon fish want to be chained again after having escaped the shackles of the bronze chain?
Upon hearing Yang Zhen’s words, the dragon fish became excited, hopping up and down, rubbing against Yang Zhen and nudging him towards the huge bronze coffin.
Indeed, the creature wanted Yang Zhen to chain it up again.
