Chapter 922 - 922 948 It seems to have taken a liking to me

Chapter 922: Chapter 948 It seems to have taken a liking to me! (Five more) Chapter 922: Chapter 948 It seems to have taken a liking to me! (Five more) Hearing the sound of Chilong’s voice, Yang Zhen was truly taken aback.

That bastard had run off so quickly that before Yang Zhen could even react, he had disappeared without a trace with a whoosh whoosh whoosh.

In the past few days, Yang Zhen had been pondering over this matter. Such a thick-browed and big-eyed fellow, yet so lacking in loyalty. Yang Zhen had nearly been eaten by the angry Qiongqi Heavenly Void from the Third Heaven Realm because of him, and that creature, seeing the bad turn of events, had fled without looking back.

Now that he suddenly heard Chilong’s voice, although Yang Zhen was a bit surprised, he was still very happy inside; he really hadn’t expected Chilong to be able to find this place.

He just didn’t know why Chilong had come here. It was said that this fellow was born under an ominous star, which was obviously true. Anyone who was spurned by heaven and earth from birth would be strange if they brought good fortune.

Whether auspicious or not didn’t scare Yang Zhen; after all, he had never been lucky himself. As long as you could come, having the thought is what counts!

“What is Chilong doing here?”

The eyes of the Five Wheel Heavenly Lord were as wide as bronze gongs. With so much time having passed, Chilong’s injuries might well have healed already. If Chilong were to cause a ruckus in White Cloud Mountain at this time, who among these people could stand against him?

Gou Shengtian’s old face was pale, and he looked at Yang Zhen in astonishment. He asked hesitantly, “What should we do?”

From the sound of it, Chilong seemed to be very angry.

Not just Gou Shengtian, but even the Five Wheel Heavenly Lord and Upper Crow Heavenly Lord had unsightly expressions on their faces, clearly having picked up on the fury in Chilong’s roars.

Yang Zhen took a deep breath and walked toward the direction of the sound, saying, “No matter what it’s here for, we’ll find out when we get there.”

Seeing Yang Zhen set off, everyone else hurriedly followed.

Hua Youyue and Han Yan’er exchanged glances and fell in step beside Yang Zhen, one on his left and one on his right, clearly worried that Yang Zhen might do something outrageous again.

Yang Zhen chuckled and said, “Relax, Chilong is actually quite loyal. Maybe it’s just here to say thanks for something.”

The cheap cat curled its lip and said, “Kid, not even a ghost would believe that. Chilong is a brutal creature; how could it specially come up the mountain to give thanks? Besides, how would it know you’re here? Maybe it’s just here to stir up trouble.”

Yang Zhen glared and retorted to the cheap cat, “Don’t judge Chilong’s thoughts with your chicken-heartedness. Chilong has it tough too.”

“Chicken-hearted?” the cheap cat looked dumbfounded at Yang Zhen. Just as it was about to speak, a series of clucking sounds came from the side, truly like a chicken crowing.

Hearing that sound, the cheap cat didn’t even look before kicking toward the source of the noise, and the two scuffled once again.

Before Yang Zhen and the others had gone far, a white figure shot out from not too far away and with a boom landed in front of them. Seeing Yang Zhen, it immediately started hopping up and down.

The sudden appearance of the creature startled everyone; they looked over and were all struck dumb.

In front of them was a fierce beast with hanging eyes and a white forehead, its fur snowy white and its ears pointy—looking like a little tiger, yet resembling a downsized version of Chilong, but with wings on its back. When it stood up, it looked just like a miniaturized Godzilla, except, for some reason, this creature had grown fur.

It must be a miniaturized version of Chilong!

Upon seeing this, Yang Zhen’s worries dissipated, and he burst into laughter, asking with an intrigued expression, “You, how did you end up looking like this?”

If not for his familiarity with the wings on Chilong’s back and that unmistakable air of self-importance, Yang Zhen might have thought it was the Qiongqi Heavenly Void that had arrived.

This downsized version shared some resemblance to the Qiongqi Heavenly Void, only now it seemed less brutal.

Upon hearing Yang Zhen’s comment, Chilong snorted loudly but didn’t answer Yang Zhen’s question. Instead, it strode proudly toward the direction of the Shangyuan Sect.

Yang Zhen scratched his head, looking bemused as he and his companions exchanged confused glances.

The breath of the Chilong was somewhat weak, and it was clear that when the Sky Spring Queyang Array was activated just now, it almost got blocked outside, which is why it roared angrily. Now that it has come in, its appearance left everyone stunned, not knowing what it intended to do.

Although the Chilong was capable of developing intelligence, it was after all only a mythical creature, not like the conniving cat and the saucy chicken, which were spiritual beasts that could communicate with humans.

Yang Zhen couldn’t figure out what the Chilong wanted to do, so he could only lead everyone to follow it back the way they had come. Along the way, nobody dared to let out a heavy breath, for fear of angering this life-threatening fellow.

Hua Youyue came to Yang Zhen’s side and whispered, “The Chilong doesn’t seem to have any malicious intent.”

It wasn’t just without malice, it was to the point of being utterly comfortable, as if it had returned to its own home, not seeing itself as an outsider at all.

Yang Zhen took Hua Youyue’s hand and said, “Let’s see what it wants to do. I always feel like this guy has latched onto me.”

Han Yan’er chuckled, but her expression changed immediately. She looked over at the Chilong, which had no reaction, then glared at Yang Zhen and said, “Do you think everything in the world is as foolish as my sister and I, to cling to you like that?”

Yang Zhen laughed, his smile tinged with sarcasm as he looked at Han Yan’er and asked, “So, are you saying that you’ve clung to me, too?”

Han Yan’er’s eyes widened as she was about to draw her sword, when suddenly the Chilong stopped in its tracks. Its whole body tensed, and its fur stood on end. It turned its fierce gaze back at Han Yan’er, scaring her into hurriedly lowering her hand.

Yang Zhen laughed heartily, slapped the Chilong on its back, and said, “What are you doing? Don’t you know we’re just flirting? Get on with whatever you need to do.”

The Chilong glanced at Yang Zhen, snorted loudly as if to give Han Yan’er a warning, and then continued walking inward.

Han Yan’er stood there, mouth agape, looking at Yang Zhen and the Chilong, and said bitterly, “Sister, look at those two… ”

A wry smile flickered across Hua Youyue’s face as she said, “It seems like the Chilong is protecting Yang Zhen.”

The Chilong is protecting Yang Zhen!

Upon hearing this, everyone present was shocked, staring in disbelief at the creature walking arrogantly in front of them.

The conniving cat, full of curiosity, approached the Chilong, sizing it up and down, and exclaimed, “It’s inconceivable, how could this irritable creature be so easily subdued by Yang Xiaozi? This is against all reason.”

The Chilong gave the conniving cat a glance, a trace of confusion flickering in its blood-red eyes, but it ignored the cat, prompting a collective awe for the cat from the people around.

The conniving cat was just a bit fatter than a normal cat, and no matter how one looked at it, it seemed like a big, non-threatening fat cat. And yet, it could walk back and forth in front of the Chilong, even evaluating it, and the Chilong didn’t get angry?

While everyone was still in shock, the Chilong leapt into a pond outside the gate of the Shangyuan Sect with a splash, causing a string of water droplets and not coming out again.

“This… this… what do we do about this?”

Gou Shengtian looked bewilderedly at the gradually calming water droplets, his face full of confusion, clearly not understanding what was happening.

Yang Zhen laughed heartily and said, “That’s settled it, with such a creature here, not to mention the Great Nether Dynasty, even if a few Half-step Great Saints were to come, they’d have a hard time dealing with it.”

“You mean… the Chilong plans to stay here permanently?”The Five Wheel Heavenly Lord’s eyes widened in disbelief.

Yang Zhen nodded and replied, “I can feel it, the Chilong doesn’t seem to plan on leaving.”

This…

Shock was written all over everyone’s faces. When Gou Shengtian recovered, he began trembling with excitement, muttering to himself, “The Chilong isn’t leaving, it’s actually not leaving… is this a good thing or a bad thing?”

“Of course it’s a good thing.” Yang Zhen felt a bit peculiar as well. Like him, shunned by heaven and earth, with the Chilong for company, he was not alone anymore.
