Chapter 657: Chapter 615: Battle Against the Six-eyed Golden Lion 2

"Heh heh heh, your sword is gone. You’re like a venomous snake that’s lost its fangs."

Tu Xiao’an’s lips curved into a wicked grin. "Since it’s my sword, how could it possibly be gone?"

With a mere thought, there was a deafening CRASH. The entire southeastern wall collapsed, and with a SWISH, the Heaven Swaying Sword returned to Tu Xiao’an’s hand.

"Hmph... Die!" Humiliated, the Six-eyed Golden Lion let out a thunderous roar. A golden-furred arm shot out, instantly swelling in size. A massive, hundred-foot-wide fist materialized and flew through the air, reaching Tu Xiao’an in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, the ground began to tremble violently. Then, with a tremendous BOOM, the earth for miles around was overturned as if by a tidal wave. This area was already a barren wasteland, and now it was pulverized even further, a chaotic mess of craters spreading outward.

Earlier, the giant, purple-eyed Ape outside had also thrown a punch at Tu Xiao’an. Tu Xiao’an had thrown one back, and the Ape had been defeated.

But the power of this punch from the Six-eyed Golden Lion was world-shaking. However, Tu Xiao’an didn’t try to block it head-on. At their Realm of power, they could intuitively understand any kind of power or technique they encountered.

They knew in their hearts whether they could take a hit or not.

"Ice Seal!"

Tu Xiao’an gazed at the enormous fist, his bewitching eyes narrowing slightly.

In an instant, a deep blue light spread over the giant fist at a speed visible to the naked eye. In no more than a second, the massive fist thrown by the Six-eyed Golden Lion was completely encased in ice.

"Another one of the Heaven and Earth Elements." The Six-eyed Golden Lion wasn’t shocked that its entire arm was frozen, but it was shocked by the snake’s techniques.

"You can say goodbye to that arm," Tu Xiao’an said, a cold glint in his eyes, his killing intent sharp and frigid.

BANG! BANG! BANG...!

The Six-eyed Golden Lion’s massive arm exploded on the spot. Countless shards of ice flew through the air, dancing within the Sea of Fire before evaporating.

And just as Tu Xiao’an had said, one of the Six-eyed Golden Lion’s arms was truly gone, completely pulverized.

Yet, not a single drop of blood flowed from the severed limb.

There was only Evil Qi, spreading in all directions.

"Excellent! Excellent! You snake, you truly are to my liking. You’ve got some skill," the Six-eyed Golden Lion’s voice was surprisingly excited.

It was as if losing an arm had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Tu Xiao’an frowned. ’It’s happy about this? Has this Golden Lion been locked up for so long it’s gone stupid?’

’Or have my heaven-defying abilities scared it senseless?’

He hadn’t even used his strongest Elemental Power yet.

"I have plenty of arms. If one is gone, I’ll just grow another."

The Six-eyed Golden Lion’s face twisted into a ferocious expression, and an astonishing power erupted from its entire body.

Tu Xiao’an watched, stunned, as a brand-new arm appeared on the Six-eyed Golden Lion’s body, its golden fur shimmering, brimming with explosive power.

’Arm regeneration?’

This was the first time Tu Xiao’an had ever seen such a technique. Even he couldn’t do it.

’This really is going to be a tough fight. It seems I have no choice but to use my Dark Ability.’

"The sky grows dark. Dark Devouring."

Within the scorching Sea of Fire, wisps and threads of black, gaseous flames spread out silently. They wrapped around the Six-eyed Golden Lion, completely engulfing it until not a single ray of light could be seen, not even a spark from the fire.

"I am invincible below Rank Four and possess an indestructible body! You lowly snake, no matter how many tricks you have, they are all useless!"

The Six-eyed Golden Lion’s voice was like a wail of grievance, chilling to the bone.

"Can you not be so damn natural when you’re posturing?" Tu Xiao’an didn’t believe in any "indestructible body." Before absolute power, even the world itself could be destroyed.

The Dark Elemental Power instantly swallowed the Six-eyed Golden Lion, causing the space to twist violently.

BOOM... BOOM... BOOM...!

Amidst a series of violent explosions, the Six-eyed Golden Lion was blasted out. It landed on the ground, still full of vigor.

However, its six eyes were now all shrouded by clumps of black mist. It was blind despite its eyes being open, able to do nothing but shout and scream randomly.

The way this fight was going truly made it feel pathetic.

"Can’t see anymore, can you? Well then, this Snake King is about to activate rampage mode. Once I’ve beaten you to within an inch of your life, it’ll be time to subdue you."

Tu Xiao’an gave a faint smile. Anyone who fought him would find it incredibly annoying. Who could blame them, when he controlled so many different and flashy Elemental Powers?

He then cracked his knuckles, vanished from the spot, and filled the sky with the sound of tearing wind. A net of lightning-fast afterimages of his hands and feet descended upon the Six-eyed Golden Lion from all directions.

Half an hour later, the towering shadow of a massive snake manifested, roared at the heavens, and lunged to bite the thirty-foot-tall evil creature.

Layer after layer of the Demon Prison collapsed, and a massive fissure, tens of thousands of meters long, snaked its way toward the outside.

......

In Wencheng, the Demons were wreaking havoc everywhere. As time passed, the Awakened Cultivators of the Demon Management Bureau, under the leadership of Director Wu Tianyi, slowly brought the chaotic situation under control.

Afterward, they launched a city-wide effort to capture the Spirit Monsters that were venting their resentment.

However, the sheer number of Rank Two and Three Demons far exceeded humanity’s expectations.

Clearly, this was a war of attrition, a tug-of-war that couldn’t be resolved in a short time. The only ones who suffered were the people of Wencheng.

They had been hiding in the safe zones, thinking they could finally catch their breath, only to be met with another devastating catastrophe.

The catastrophic nature of this demon plague was even worse than the Fierce Beast attack on the city.

Because the Demons, having gained sentience, were too clever. It was all too easy for them to kill a few people and then hide, disappearing into the crowds of the city.

As the situation developed, it reached a point where even a stray dog you saw on the street could very well be an escaped criminal from the Demon Prison.

Of course, not all the Demons who escaped from the prison were unforgivably evil, bent only on venting their anger.

A few of the Demons were very smart. They didn’t cause any trouble, instead taking the form of ordinary animals and fleeing Wencheng.

They truly didn’t want to be imprisoned by humans again, to live a life worse than death.

Sometimes, having a long life wasn’t necessarily a good thing. You could be locked away for a hundred years without seeing the light of day, and you still wouldn’t die.

On the outskirts of the prison, the Vice-Director and Wu Tianyi watched as it continued to collapse. The old man asked, "He’s in there fighting the Six-eyed Golden Lion all by himself. Can he really do it?"

That snake was very strong, but this time he was facing the Six-eyed Golden Lion—a creature that had been imprisoned for a thousand years and had still managed to break through in its Cultivation.

"Director, I will hold the fort here. You should go in and help him. Although he isn’t human, he is a good Demon." The Vice-Director could only imagine the fierce battle raging in the prison’s deepest level.

A massive fissure had already spread to their very feet.

That snake couldn’t be allowed to die. His granddaughter’s life depended on its Ice Frost Power.

Wu Tianyi did want to go in and help, but without a summons from his master, he didn’t dare intrude. He had been forcefully blasted out before. Facing the Vice-Director, he could only feign a cold snort and say, "Demon versus Demon. It would be best if they destroyed each other. It would save us the trouble."

"Director, that snake is the Bai Town Snake King! He has made great contributions to Wencheng and to humanity. We can’t just ignore whether he lives or dies!"

Seeing Wu Tianyi remain unmoved, the Vice-Director urged him anxiously.

Wu Tianyi shot the Vice-Director a cold look. "Vice-Director, you should stop worrying about nothing. Right now, there are more Demons in Wencheng than we can catch. You should be thinking about how to clean up this mess."

"If not, then I’ll go in and see. Even just lending a hand would be good."

"Vice-Director, don’t forget your position. Even if that snake is a good Demon, it’s still a Demon. Right now, two Great Demon Kings are fighting. Isn’t it better for us to reap the rewards as the fisherman?" Wu Tianyi said, his gaze shifting to the distance. "Let’s go. There’s a Deep Mountain Great Demon causing trouble up ahead that needs to be dealt with."

Wu Tianyi flew off. The Vice-Director glanced at the continuously collapsing prison, able only to pray that the snake could defeat the Six-eyed Golden Lion.

’Kid, you absolutely cannot die. If you die, my granddaughter will be buried with you.’

The Vice-Director sighed to himself. He was powerless to help and could only follow Wu Tianyi resignedly.

In Wencheng, the Director of the Demon Management Bureau held the highest authority. Even he, the Vice-Director of the Ancient Academy, had to obey.

Even setting aside their official positions, Wu Tianyi’s Cultivation was far superior to the Vice-Director’s.
