Invincibility Begins with Mastery of Fist Techniques
Chapter 772 - 765: Intelligence
Chapter 772: Chapter 765: Intelligence
In a single breath, before the terrifying fireball of runes Anjina had thrown could even fully detonate, its energy was absorbed by Zhou Yuanjue and dissipated into nothingness.
Seeing this, Anjina’s mouth fell slightly open, as if she hadn’t quite processed what had just happened.
Irene also looked slightly stunned, while Bodante, in his stupor, simply turned invisible and vanished once more.
They had considered that Zhou Yuanjue wouldn’t be defeated so easily, but they had never imagined he would handle it so effortlessly.
He had neutralized Anjina’s attack within a single breath.
After all, as a member of the Elemental Race, any move that prompted Anjina to use runes possessed an attack power far greater than one might imagine.
In other words, if an ordinary being at the First layer Transformation Boundary, like Chishan, had tried to face that attack head-on, they likely would have been killed instantly.
Dorobaku, however, who had dodged to the side, looked completely unfazed.
He had fled from Zhou Yuanjue’s side not to escape the range of Anjina’s attack, but simply to get out of the range of Zhou Yuanjue’s ability.
During their half-month journey together, he had come to understand all too well the new ability Zhou Yuanjue had developed.
His body was essentially a convergence of air energy, so to some extent, Zhou Yuanjue’s ability was a natural counter to him. During a past sparring session, a single deep breath from Zhou Yuanjue had nearly sucked away a fifth of his body, leaving him somewhat traumatized by the ability. Now, he would reflexively dodge away whenever he even suspected Zhou Yuanjue might use it.
"Alright, Anjina, stop messing around. I’ve already told you all very clearly about Zhou Yuanjue’s strength. Everything I described was absolutely true. No need to doubt him, and no need to test him. He is absolutely qualified to join us."
Dorobaku stepped forward and said to Anjina.
"Fine. It was just a casual attack, but since you could take it, I suppose you’re barely qualified to be friends with me, Anjina Tuhuo!"
Anjina pouted, her eyes fixed on Zhou Yuanjue, seemingly itching for a real fight.
Now she knew Dorobaku was probably telling the truth, and she was intensely curious about the true extent of Zhou Yuanjue’s strength.
SWOOSH!!
She leaped down from the head of the giant Earth Rock Worm and sent a friend request to Zhou Yuanjue through her True Talisman.
Though her personality and words were proud and prickly, she wasn’t an unreasonable fool. From that brief exchange, she had indeed acknowledged Zhou Yuanjue’s strength.
Zhou Yuanjue casually accepted the friend request.
"Hello, my name is Irene Hill. It’s a pleasure to meet you. Like you, I also walk the path of the Sacred Lotus."
"I’m very curious. To think there’s someone like you among this generation of candidates from the Sacred Lotus Civilization... I’ve never heard of you. It seems I’ve been out of the loop."
Irene studied Zhou Yuanjue with her large eyes, which bore the mark of the Sacred Lotus. Her face was full of curiosity as she also sent him a friend request.
"There are always some ’surprises’ in the real world."
Zhou Yuanjue also looked at Irene with interest. ’It seems she comes from a major clan within the Sacred Lotus Civilization. I wonder what kind of strength and abilities she possesses.’
"My name is Bodante Ghost Cave, from the Red Moon Race. It’s a pleasure to meet you, too. I hope the day never comes when I have to backstab you."
A voice sounded from the side as Bodante’s figure reappeared. As soon as he finished speaking, his form slowly faded and vanished again.
’A member of the Red Moon Race? Such a bizarre ability... even my intuition can’t sense his exact location. A true natural-born assassin. Interesting.’
Zhou Yuanjue gave a slight nod in that direction.
Soon, the group became acquainted and began to exchange information about the Mimicry True Realm.
"On our way here across the Dominic Wilderness, I saw quite a few candidates. Some of them gave off an extremely dangerous feeling just from intuition alone. It seems the reward for the Mimicry True Realm this time is unusual. Have you guys heard anything about what it is?" Dorobaku asked Anjina and the others.
"I have heard some rumors about that," Anjina said in a low voice. "They say it’s an extremely rare True Realm Curiosity, one that isn’t on the exchange list. It’s most likely the ’Black Abyss Source Heart’."
"It’s really that thing?" Dorobaku said in surprise. "It’s not of much use to us from the Elemental Race, but for other lower-level candidates, it’s definitely something worth risking your life for. Irene, Bodante, Zhou Yuanjue—all of you could use it."
"What is that?" Zhou Yuanjue asked.
"It’s a type of True Realm Curiosity. Extremely rare, with no fixed environment where it’s created. Its effect is, more or less, to imbue your current essential structure with a trace of the Black Abyss’s characteristics. It can grant properties like extreme cold, devouring power, and malice. The degree of amplification varies from person to person, and it can even cause extreme mutations. Only an organization with the clout of the Primordial Star Organization would dare to offer such a Curiosity as a reward," Dorobaku said with a sigh.
"Is that so?"
Upon hearing the effects of this so-called Black Abyss Source Heart, Zhou Yuanjue lost interest.
For one, he wouldn’t rely on such external objects to become stronger. For another, if he wanted to generate similar characteristics in his own structure, he could just simulate and fuse them directly. There was no need to depend on something like this.
In comparison, he was more interested in the opponents he was about to face.
"If even something like this is being offered, our opponents this time are probably no joke, huh?"
Dorobaku was clearly similar to Zhou Yuanjue, more interested in the opponents they were about to face.
"A while ago, a round of conflict and chaos broke out in the Dominic Wilderness because too many candidates had gathered there. It seems this Mimicry True Realm has caught the attention of the behemoth organizations in Leyuan, and they’ve sent over some of their experts. However, the True Realm restricts entry to those with Level 4 to Level 5 Point clearance, so their strength won’t be too absurd. At most, they’ll be in the early to middle stages of the First layer Transformation Boundary."
"Actually, I think that while they may be strong, with our Talents and strength, we won’t be much worse off if we run into them. After all, if they were truly powerful experts, they most likely wouldn’t choose to just laze around in those organizations."
"In fact, the ones we should really be concerned about are the geniuses from our own batch who entered the Chaotic Paradise at the same time as us."
"It’s said that among our batch of candidates, the few who are considered the strongest of their generation from the five great civilizations have all gathered here. They are..."
Irene opened her mouth, just about to reveal the specific information.
HUMMM!!
Suddenly, the entire land began to tremble. The massive runic light shield, which had been in a dormant state with its light faintly flickering, erupted with a dazzling brilliance.
