Chapter 701: Chapter 694: Simulated Dream Realm
The light faded.
The first thing to appear before his eyes was a beautiful city, filled with a certain inexplicable artistic sense. Streets were paved with brick and stone, pillars were carved with strange patterns, and lush, unknown plants grew everywhere. He seemed to be in some kind of plaza.
He turned his head to look around. Energy Pillars shot up into the sky, converging to form some sort of crisscrossing network of channels. He himself had just stepped out from one of these Energy Pillars.
It wasn’t just him; all sorts of different life forms were emerging from the Energy Pillars.
Some were entwined with vines like the roots of a plant. They had humanoid figures and features, resembling the dryads of legend.
Some wore silver, high-tech uniforms and also possessed human-like forms.
Some were short and stout, reminding Zhou Yuanjue of the dwarves from Western legends.
And others were unimaginably tall, at least seven or eight meters in height.
In fact, most of the life forms in the plaza, despite their vast differences in appearance, race, and so on, generally maintained a humanoid appearance and form.
Of course, there were a few whose appearances differed greatly from humans.
For instance, there was Nainte, whose body was covered in a carapace like an insect’s. There were also Aliens with octopus-like faces and bat wings on their backs, resembling some sort of aquatic creature.
"This is Bernard City, the Sacred Lotus Civilization’s sphere of influence on the Gena Continent."
"So, what do you think? The creatures around you seem somewhat familiar, right? Most of the life forms from the Sacred Lotus Civilization and its subordinate civilizations have physiological appearances and structures similar to yours. From a biological aesthetic standpoint, you shouldn’t find them too repulsive."
Nainte said to Zhou Yuanjue.
As the two chatted, the other Martial Artists began to emerge one by one from the Energy Pillar behind them. Each of them curiously sized up this city, which was completely different from Earth Civilization.
They were likely the first humans from Earth to ever see so many "aliens."
Zhou Yuanjue, however, was more concerned with the strength of these life forms. He noticed that while many of them had a True Realm Energy signature, indicating they had likely reached the threshold of a Type One Life, they didn’t seem very threatening.
He knew why.
In a high-level civilization, not all life forms pursued combat. The majority were simply ordinary citizens. Although they possessed Power, they didn’t have strong fighting capabilities.
It was just like how in modern human society, not every adult possesses combat skills.
Furthermore, not every being in a high-level civilization had reached the level of Type One; there were also many individuals who had not yet completed their transformation.
However, as beings from a high-level civilization, they were all born with abilities equivalent to a human Saint Awakening—they could manipulate magnetic fields to communicate and could quickly begin to enhance their life force.
"Is everyone here?"
"We have a lot to do next. Stick close to me."
Nainte said, then led the group into the city.
Along the way, Nainte gave a detailed introduction to the Martial Artists, who were new to this city teeming with the essence of other civilizations. The once-reserved Martial Artists seemed to have transformed into curious children, constantly asking questions to learn more about the city.
Under Nainte’s guidance, the group soon arrived at the Sacred Lotus Civilization’s reception office for low-level civilizations. They were greeted by a staff member from the office.
She had long, black hair and an appearance indistinguishable from a human’s, except for the lotus-shaped pupils in her eyes. She wore a silver-white, high-tech uniform emblazoned with the Sacred Lotus insignia and was quite beautiful.
According to Nainte, these were the typical traits of a direct Descendant of the Sacred Lotus Civilization: lotus-shaped pupils, white blood, a preference for silver-white, fair skin, and fine features.
The staff member’s attitude was neither good nor bad; it seemed strictly business. In the spacious hall of the office, Zhou Yuanjue and the others saw several other groups of humanoid life forms from different civilizations. Their eyes also held a strong sense of curiosity. Like them, they appeared to be individuals who had only recently entered a True Realm Civilization.
These individuals also came from low-level civilization worlds, brought here through guidance missions. According to information Nainte revealed, due to a recent adjustment in the alliance’s contact Law, a large number of low-level civilizations were being guided to make contact with True Realm Civilizations. This had resulted in a massive influx of life forms from low-level civilizations into Bernard City.
Led by the staff member, Zhou Yuanjue and his group completed some basic procedures, such as identity registration, the issuance of Identity Cards, and so on.
What piqued the Martial Artists’ curiosity the most was the so-called "potential value test." Each of them entered a room shrouded in immense Energy, where it felt as if some terrifying Power was peering into the fundamental structure of their bodies.
But after the test was complete, they didn’t receive any related data.
According to the staff member, the individual potential value data was relatively confidential information. It would be uploaded directly to the higher-ups by a super-brain and could ultimately affect their assigned regions. Even staff members like her had no authority to know the specific data, and she told them to go back and wait for further notice.
Their first day in a high-level civilization passed uneventfully.
There were no provocations between different civilizations, nor any power plays from the high-level civilization. Everything seemed quite dull.
After a busy day of completing all the procedures, the group returned to their temporarily assigned lodgings, where everyone gathered together.
"What are we supposed to do for the next few days?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked Nainte.
"You can’t do anything. If you have time, you can go explore the city, but without any currency, you can’t really do anything at all. You’re better off just staying here and waiting patiently. Once your assignment results are out, you’ll have things to do."
Nainte shook his head.
"If I wanted to fight life forms from other civilizations, is there a way to do that?"
Zhou Yuanjue asked. Having come to a high-level civilization and seen so many strange alien life forms, his curiosity about their abilities and combat strength was, to say the least, through the roof.
He wanted to see just what these life forms were capable of.
"Private fights within the city are forbidden, but if you want to fight, it’s not like there are no avenues."
Nainte said.
"Oh?"
At this, everyone’s interest was piqued. Martial Artists, after all, were born to fight.
"Remember that Dream Simulation System I told you about?"
"The onboard system in my aircraft carrier couldn’t withstand the intense spiritual fluctuations from combat. The other high-level equipment here, however, is a different story."
